Since the GOP stopped the support for Ukraine, Putin is smiling again.
The House is only a couple of resignations away from that being corrected.
The Republicans are (in)famous for holding key issues hostage in exchange for favorable "deals". Don't get me wrong, the Democrats can do the same, so it's not a partisan phenomenon.
However, the Republicans are definitely doing that right now, and seeing as how much Trump loves Putin, many Republicans are reluctant to lose MAGA voter support if they can avoid it.
Add it all up, and you have the dire consequence of not just hurting Ukrainian soldiers literally fighting for their freedom, but remember that they also have family, friends, and neighbors who will suffer and die because of stunts like this.
