Last week my practice multicopter flew away, partly pilot error, partly radio interference. That was €120 down the drain. I have a Phantom but that flies itself. I have 2 more qauds on order a tiny whoop clone, & a 4" Monster. Im going to be too nervous to fly them. Any advice?

    • @anzaeria
      @anzaeria 6 лет назад

My advice would be to practise with cheap toy-grade quads that are fully manual. Over four years ago, my first quadcopter was a Syma X1 which I paid about $40 for. I wasn't bad as a beginner but I lost it to a fly away only after a week of using it. I then got another X1 which I had for a few weeks but then that one had a fly away too. I then got a third X1 but that had a fly away as well. Over time, I got better at flying and I haven't had a fly away for years. Though of course fly aways can occur for all sorts of different reasons. They can occur when you least expect it.

Afro ESCs and SunnySky 2204s - ahhh those were the days...not haha. You've been there right from the beginning of the mini quad craze!
I remember when I was flying my big Y6 FPV with a DIY brushless gimbal in early 2015 and my friend started flying a QAV250. He said "you should build one too - they're so fun". I thought "Pffft, why would I want something so tiny when I have my mighty hexacopter for FPV cruising!". He let me have a fly of his quad - my first acro FPV flight after having flown my Y6 in stabilise mode for two years. Well I was hooked.
That first flight of his quad cost me so much money in mini quad gear, but it's been fun!

Awesome video. I love watching progression videos especially of a hobby I love. You progressed quickly to angle mode only after a few months. It took me almost 2 yrs. of racing in attitude to feel comfortable to go full time Acro. My problem was getting my Taranis expo set up properly so my controls werent so sensitive. Not only was building a drone and tuning a learning experience, but setting up the controller was, and is, still an ongoing experience.

Watching this was a huge encouragement to me since I just finished building my first racing last week, been flying it quite a bit and still haven't left horizon mode. I got discouraged when plowed into a branch and dropped it about 25 feet, exploding a couple props, but the only real thing I hurt was my pride. I can see I've got a ways to go, and your vid perked me right up. Thanks boss!

If you want to do it in 1 week. Get all the stuff ready and make sure you have everything you need to fly.
Then buy a simulator and fly for 4 days NON-STOP. With a drone.similar to yours.
The the 5th day carefully learn to do very simple things with the real drone, don't fucking bounce it into anything!!! And you better have spare parts.
6th day do a simple course. Maybe some spins high up in the sky.
7th day.. you practice some more, that evening you'll be intermediate with it.
But it requires a full week of dedication, all day.

Just stumbled upon this, I’m super excited and kind of nervous, I know I’m late to this hobby, but I love it, after watching videos and researching on Freestyle drone, I finally got one. And hopefully I can progress like you did.. I can just imagine how you fly like now.

Me too randomly stumbled on this. Excellent, especially considering what was possible even 4 years ago.

I loved the trampoline and the slide start haha. I need to stop messing around and build myself a quad, this reminds me of the fun i used to have with my RC car.

That is a massive improvement. I really liked the part when you were flying through the trusses. Well until you crashed. That is impressive.

That is some rad flying you are doing there! That was a nice progression in your skills, the trampoline bump and the flying through the trusses were my favorite parts! Drone on!™

Hahaha that's awesome! You can see the improvement. I'm an old fart at 49 but I've just ordered my first drone. Back when I was a kid RC stuff was astronomically expensive and difficult. Nice to see all can play now.

Awesome . I cant wait till I complete my first fpv build soon , all I’m working with is a couple of propel gravitrons red & chrome, eachine tx03 & wolfwhoop wt03 & a pair of $30 rutforce vr-28 goggles , i got the 2 drones for free brand new as gifts a few weeks ago & I purchased the rest of the items but I’ve been flying the drones for a few weeks now and in that time I found out about fpv and what it was so I had to order some cameras , this will be my start but I of coarse want to taste that 4 cell power and do the moves I see you preformed here it looks like your just totally free and in control it’s so surreal , the experience I get watching fpv videos gives me chill sometimes I can’t imagine what its like it looks like FREEDOM !

Awesome Video man! Great to see the progress, very motivational. Been flying my built 250 for a couple days now, amazed at how hard it is to learn. Can't wait to get to your level.

It's very inspiring to see the progression. Your throttle management through those top rafters was amazing and that was years ago when gear was not as good as it is now.

Hell yeah brother, way to go, I am just making the transition to acro been flying in level mode for past 6 months built like 5 quads now I have very little time to fly right now but hope that this summer I will have a lot more free time to progress. I have been flying acro in the DRL simulator trying to get use to it, I still have not tried it in real life... I feel like I am so limited in level mode and am ready to just go for it.

Great progression my friend! I'm working on something similar for myself. I got into fpv about 2 months ago, due to work I can't fly as much as I want but my first quad was of course the inductrix fpv (still my favorite!) and the day I got it I couldn't fly down the hallway of my home without crashing. I look forward to seeing my progress over the course of the next few months.

Ahoi! \o Man, you rocked it throughout! This is the first vid I have seen on this topic "Progress" in FPV quadflight. I just got started... bought my first drone, a Hubsan 501s and realize that I have quite a journey ahead of me now. I'm wanting to get the FPV goggles and am trying to decide on which ones... that and a fast and small FPV quad . I heard of GB180, Eachine XXX-something and so many other names I can't recall right now... pfff.... Geez, gotta look for a good controller as well. Gotta hit the forums now... great job again! Thanks for sharing! Woohoo!! Merry Christmas!

been watching a lot of these, and I never seen nothing like that trampoline thing! expect a slow drifting loop over! that's what everyone else would done! way cooollll! and the trusses run was very impressive. I've seen tight spots but only on quick fly through... nothing even close to that...keep up the work and you'll be winning the next freestyle championship

Man, thanks for this video! I have not even stepped on this path, just flying stock consumer drones, but I feel like fpv is something that will get me soon. It's nice to see such an overview!
