Nefarian's End - Fire Mage PoV - Normal Blackwing Descent - WoW Cataclysm Classic

- Hello everyone! This video is a non-narrated recording of the Nefarian's End / Nefarian & Onyxia encounter in the Normal Difficulty Blackwing Descent (BWD) Raid done as a Fire Mage in Phase 1 of the World of Warcraft Classic Cataclysm Expansion.
This recording is from the third night of the tier launch and with a complete pug group. I haven't seen these bosses since the original Cataclysm expansion, so I play far from perfectly here as I was still (re)learning the boss mechanics as well as cooldown / fight timings. I know that this isn't the highest level gameplay, but with that being said, I still wanted to upload this fight so that people could get a look at the fight from a Fire Mage point of view if they wanted. I play far from perfectly in this recording as it was my first time seeing these bosses firsthand in a very very long time, but feel free to let me know if you have any questions in the comments below!
Yo!! new wow player, trying to learn the bosses even tho the big entry barrier of the game. I tried to do this boss with the guild I'm in, but we wiped everytime...

How good is the trinket Darkmoon volcano? Is worth buying?
It depends on if you can afford it or not, but I would say that it is worth it. It is better than every other 359 Trinket, so you'll only replace it when you get 2 372 ilvl Trinkets from the Heroic Raids.
Definitely going to keep some of these tactics for our 10 man run, and pushing to stay Fire Mage lol

We've tried to get this guy down in the current and last weeks reset with my guild but we simply can't do it... Off tank dies to ads mostly or we get too much ground fire and die 😂
Yeah, he is definitely a step up in difficulty over the other bosses and can be a huge pain - Are you doing it on 10-man or 25-man? We did on 25-man this week and used a 3rd Tank to help corral the adds to keep the fire off of the raid and it helped a ton. I'm not sure if that's worth doing in 10-man though since there's less adds and it might not be worth dropping a DPS.
The main thing with the fire is just positioning, the fireballs always get launched at the adds so the adds need to be away from the group, ideally on the outer ring, and the Tank has to move them quickly before the fireball lands and the ground-fire spawns so that they don't regain energy and get more damage / movement stacks. We used Hunter Misdirects to help get them out, and also asked people to not use AoE / Earth Elemental / Army of the Dead etc. so that the adds went straight to the Tank - we also tried to let the adds die near the edge of the ring in P1 instead of the in middle of the room so that they didn't spawn right under the boss, which can lead to fire in the raid stack. And then we just rotate the boss as the adds get kited around so that they don't get hit with the Boss' Breath and so that the fire doesn't catch up with the Raid. It also helped a lot to use a Druid tank with the Infected Claws slow Talent (or whatever it's called), otherwise assigning a Frost DK with the Chillblains Talent or a Hunter Trap rotation for slows helps a ton to allow the Tank to kite without getting smacked too hard.
