    I’m just a DIY’er but I still can’t bring myself to buy any wrench set with skips. It’s why Tekton shines to me. I truly believe Craftsman would boost their sales significantly if they stopped skipping sizes.

      I get that however 9mm is virtually non existent so it won’t hurt you. 👍🏻

    This are Facom 440 rebrands, Stanley B&D loves to rebrand Facom products across their brands. MAC used to sell them under the "Precision torque" name. Now MAC no longer sell them and the name went to the Facom 440XL rebrand they now offer. The 440 are rebranded under Craftsman V, Usag 285. The V are slightly different as they don't have ASD, The others come with anti slip. If its confusing, yes Stanley is giant interconnected mess of a tool conglomerate. This aren not to be confused for the Facom 440XL, those are rebranded for MAC under Precision torque and Sidcrhome 440. Furthermore the Mac RBRT is rebranded to Facom under the 441OVG, USAG 285X and the anti slip design is applied to the Craftsman overdrive.

    • @ThingsMen
      @ThingsMen  Месяц назад +2

      Great explanation. I left out most of that in the video as I was afraid it would take too long to explain but yes in short SB&D acquired Facom and MAC and then distributed their products within. 👍🏻

    • @andrestnt
      @andrestnt Месяц назад +3

      @@ThingsMen The V line has been on sale for at least 3 months now, most of the line is Facom/USAG rebrands. I think the line is a failure in the sales department. I'm assuming Stanley B&D is liquidating the line or something. I was able to acquire most of the line really cheaply, the quality of the tools is outstanding IMO. Craftsman need to revisit and revaluate the pricing/availability.

    • @ThingsMen
      @ThingsMen  Месяц назад +2

      @@andrestnt yea I picked up some other V-line products at a great discount a while back. I have seen these wrenches fluctuate over the past couple years so I don’t imagine that will change. They Will be back at $39 soon enough. Agree that they are great quality Facom copies at great prices. 👍🏻

      @@andrestntwhat I can’t figure out is why the SAE aren’t on sale if that’s the case
      Also, the Mac PT is longer…. By a not small amount. Lol But I’m pretty sure you know that.

    • @andrestnt
      @andrestnt Месяц назад +2

      @@gtcam723 Not everything is on sale. The current PT are the 440XL, yes long pattern. The original PT where the 440 with ASD, still sold under facom/usag. I explained that on the comment, Its confusing for sure. Its why you see comment of people mentioning the old MAC PT, then get confused by the current PT's. I'm assuming they made less SAE for the V-line, so that's probably why they aren't on sale. But the other SAE tools where on sale, so I'm not sure what going on there. regardless its a great time to buy the V line. i just acquired the full set of the sockets 3/8 , 1/4, deep/short, a 1/4 flex ratchet, metric hex sockets, the compact 3/8 tool kit, and the 3 in one ratchet screwdriver for around 150$. super please with the quality of the tools, need to buy the wrenches for sure, at 38$ is just dumb not to pick them up.

  • @mlieser1230

    I had quite a few Mac tools when I worked as an auto mechanic. These wrenches are nice looking and I like the case layout. It's compact so it fits nicely in a portable tool kit or spread out it doesn't take up a lot of space in a drawer. As was the case with the old raised panel wrenches, these wrenches too are on the short side. I consider them to be standard length. I have 3 sets of combination wrenches. Long pattern, standard and stubby to fit different situations. The USAG version is more of a long pattern and less expensive than the Mac. I wish SB&D would do a better job with availability of the V Series. Neither my local Ace Hardware or Lowe's carry the V Series. Warranty is another issue as you can't just walk into Ace or Lowe's and exchange them. It has to be done on line.

    • @ThingsMen
      @ThingsMen  Месяц назад +1

      All valid points. Yes they are shorter and would be more standard length. Keep your eyes peeled for my next wrench video. You might see USAG pop back up. 👍🏻
