Hey Guys. To setup remote connect on the PS Play app. you have to open the app in desktop mode and set it up from there. Just a heads up don't use the buttons on the steam deck to input your pin, info, or copying the redirect. It double click the controls and the server gets lost. Only use the touch for the whole setup and it works. good luck guys👍

i tried the ps play demo on oled, works great. no drop frame and smooth, better than chiaki a lot of bugs since update. might purchasing soon thank u for the video
Chiaki always gives me green screen and a slight input latency although I have 1tb fiber optics internet. I have the steam deck lcd one. Does the psplay app do this too?
Ah apologies Niko, not so much a green screen but there can be white flashes if the WiFi signal is weak eg were too far away from our router, or if ps5 isn’t plugged in to Ethernet…
I can do every step no problem but once I have my PlayStation showing up on PSplay when I click on it to start local connect I always get the error PlayStation could not be found

@PeteTalksTech yes definitely I followed your instructions which were great, but it definitely doesn't show when you try to add to steam library as non steam game, weird, might have to get refunded at this rate. Will try to persevere for next day or so, and see how I get on.
@@DanielHarper-t8hhi, just switch to desktop mode, open steam, click add none steam game, and in the dialog click "browse" and choose the AppImage in the file dialog. It definitely works as with all other applications
@fgpr999 I tried that way also, that then shows up as option to 'add to non steam game' which I did but then when back in gaming mode it doesn't launch? Going to have another bash today. Thanks for helping to try and solve this mystery though, really appreciate it.
Thanks Sam! Great question - it doesn’t currently support HDR unfortunately (hope the developer adds this!), but as mentioned in the vid the key advantage this PS Play app has over Chiaki4deck is the ability to play away from home (once the URL bug is fixed) on public WiFi and cellular hotspots!
@@PeteTalksTechit actually already supports HDR! If you have a steamdeck oled you can enable HDR in the video settings if you have configured vulkan rendering
fgpr, any eta on when the URL issue will be fixed so we can remote play away from home? I’ll make a vid on this at some point when we can get past this and can play away from home on SD OLED using the fantastic PS Play! 🙌
Great question Biker, it's absolutely as rock solid as the epic Chiaki4deck on home WiFi, and the big advantage as mentioned in the vid is the ability to do PS5 remote play away from home (once the URL bug is fixed)!
@@PeteTalksTech I have used it on a Tablet for quite a while. So would have to double dip as its not the same licence. I'm going to hang on until I get an ROG ally X and sell my Portal. Then use it on both Ally and deck
@@PeteTalksTech I hardly use my Portal. I hate wired earphones and really like my Bluetooth gaming buds. So find I play Steam deck more. Chiaki4Deck and also going to look at Psplay as that was great on my android tablet. Now available for lynux.
Yes Biker it drives me crazy that Sony force us to us wired earphones (which like you I also hate!!) or make us pay £200 for their uncomfortable Pulse Earbuds!

Great Garry! Yes PS Play being even bette than chiaki is incredible, it really is a fantastic app and well worth the money 👍
I can’t find that gamepad option in the controller settings for community layouts
Try a few King esp the ones who have been downloaded the most and let us know which you find is the best!

Perhaps restart your route, PS5 and the app to reset the process? 🤔

Chiaki is an easier install but they are pretty much the same, i use chiaki everyday
