I found a Calvary chapel in Puerto Rico bilingual, have been attending for 4 yrs. i've never saw a Calvary chapel in New York city. God bless you pastor Paul
Excellent teaching. I have the gift of tongues for over 20 years. It's great for praying and giving God all the glory. Thank you, Paul & Sue, for the anointed teachings and also making scriptures clear.
Such a good teaching. The Holy Spirit is nothing to mess with. Reminds me of; The beginning of knowledge is fear of the Lord. I really wouldn't want to offend our Lord, in any way with this!
Humm I have to say as a Pentecostal, you really helped me understand something that has bothered me since teen years. I had always felt like The Holy Spirt is not a radio you turn on & off. 1Corn 6:17 I have heard pastors say, “let’s pray in the spirit”. I can not just do that. Yet I have had several times in my life that the covering of The Holy Spirit has come on me & I’m praying or praising.
I have learned a lot from your videos and I appreciate them very much. I am a pentecostal in Ohio and I attend several churches several times a week. Not trying to boast, I'm just trying to say that I have never been to a church like your describing. With that said I wanted to say that I love youall and appreciate you for these videos regardless. Thank you for the ministry!!!
Pastor Paul you said that if someone interprets someone’s spiritual tongue and if their interpretation is for the body of Christ then that makes their interpretation unbiblical because the person who was speaking in tongues was only speaking to God. However, if we read on to verse 5 it says that “I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, UNLESS INDEED HE INTERPRETS, THAT THE CHURCH MAY RECEIVE EDIFICATION.” Can you please further discuss this verse
Well, the interpretation is biblical if the message is directed towards God, not the body of Christ. It's like if someone (the interpreter) was telling you about what someone else (the speaker of tongues) said to another person (God).
It says person who speaks in tongues builds up themselves. Therefore, if it is interpreted, it can build up everyone. Pastor Paul L believes this edification is prayer. Everyone could then be edified through prayer if they all understood the prayer, if Pastor Paul L is correct. I see your point: the reason that the one speaking in tongues speaks not to men is “for, no one understands him.” So if he could be understood through an interpreter, it would edify the church.
Why would the sensationist say gifts have stopped when God says he's the same today yesterday and forever and he does not change?? Super confused why they would think that. Makes no sense. So what do they think about people that speak in tongues? Do these people think they are babbling nonsense? Hopefully Not

I'm not ceseasionist, but I believe pastor Paul didn't fully describe what they believe. They don't beleive the gifts of the Spirit have ceased, they believe some gifts of the Spirit ceased, specifically the extraordinary ones such as speaking in tongues and miraculous healing by men (not by God). They affirm other gifts such preaching/prophecy, serving other, discernment, wisdom, etc.
You said Cobra den. Are you saying there will be snakes in heaven? Ha. Snakes are evil. They are of Satan. Ive always been confused on that verse. My grandma and i agree snakes are evil. Everyone know that but im just still confused on that verse. Please someone explain it
I'm having a hard time with this particular explanation. While I agree that speaking in tongues for the early church meant the gospel could be spread to other peoples, this idea of speaking some language to God that I don't understand is confusing to me. The Holy Spirit can speak to God at anytime, why would he speak through me in a language I don't understand? How is that edifying?
On the Day of Pentecost, the same God who once confused mankind’s languages, miraculously gave the apostles the ability “to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4). This was a miracle of the tongue and the ear. Those assembled in Jerusalem from all over the world each “heard them speak in his own language” (Acts 2:6). So the disciples were aware of what they saying and the people were able to understand what they saying.
I love listening to your teachings, but I don’t understand some of this. I was always taught that if someone speaks in a tongue at church there needs to be an interpreter. Which led me to assume it was for the edification of the body. Doesn’t 1 Cor 14:27-28 say that clearly? “27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. 28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God.”
You are right. I wasn't commenting on whether or not an interpretation was biblical. Such things clearly are. I was saying that when the "interpretation" is a message to the Church, THAT is NOT the interpretation of the tongues since the Apostle Paul clearly said that he who speaks in a tongue speaks NOT TO MEN. When an interpretation comes out as a word of instruction or encouragement to the church, that is a word of prophecy...NOT the interpretation of tongues.
Thank you for the additional insight. I am thankful to God for these videos. Though I have spent much of my life studying the Bible, I still learn a lot.
Pastor Paul, I appreciate your effort to interpret. But you messes up some of the ideas like when you said that the disciples did not understand what they saying when they Speaking with Tongue is not true. Because “Everyone Heard Them Speak in His Own Language” so the disciples were speaking their own language and the people heard it as their language.
Love this service. Thank you pastor

Seems as if your looking to pick up offensive points why not take it to God let him edify what your asking ❤
Thank you
thanks you for explaining
I cannot even imagine that spiritual gifts are remotely not applicable today. Christ has not yet returned . We have work to do
👍
Acts 2...they understood each others tongues.
AWESOME!!! Where/How can I get a transcript of this lesson?

Amazing facts sensationalism. The first church I attended had someone who spoke in tongues, and then another the interpretation. 💡

31:15 That baby obviously wasn’t listening to the sermon. You shouldn’t be speaking tongues in church 🤦
