    The best commentary on the Bible is other parts of the Bible.

    • @lindadodd3829

      Yes!! When I first began reading, I had no idea what a commentary was. I didn't know what cross references were. I began to see what was in the NT was also first in the OT. Whenever I came across this, I wrote the chapter and verse next to it. When a person told me what a commentary was, I began to read them. And THAT was the beginning of the painful process of discovering the many "ism's" out there. But to recognize ERROR, one must first know TRUTH. TRUTH WITH THE RIGHT TEACHER--GOD'S VERY OWN HOLY SPIRIT!😊

    Planning one is a great question, I feel like I’m taking over when I want God to lead my life. I’ve run it in a ditch on my own… I am nothing without him, my plans can be rejected and I’ve lost a lot of time and energy. My problem is sometimes I don’t know what to do whilst I wait and I don’t always hear God telling to do something when my life “appears” to be falling apart. I’m looking around and grateful for what I have and transforming my mind from lack, and fear.

      The first couple chapters of the book of Nehemiah has really good insight about his planning and prayer process before he rebuilt the walls in Jerusalem.
      Hope this can help!

    Thomas Otter from Taiwan. I love to listen to your bible studies on the BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) passage that we study weekly! My question is: Even though Jesus and the Holy Spirit are equal with God, is their a hierarchy in the trinity? I ask because of this verse and others: Philippians 2:8-10
    "And when he was living as a man, he humbled himself and was fully obedient to God, even when that caused his death-death on a cross. So God raised him to the highest place."

    Hi dear pastor Paul and dear Sue, in Genesis 6:6 the bible tells us that God regretted creating man. How can you explain this concept of regret in relation to God telling us in the new testament that he has chosen (foreknew) us before the foundation of the world? May God bless you for what you are doing in teaching us the word.

      We'll try to add this to the February Q&A

    • @dantedee4682
      @dantedee4682 9 месяцев назад +1

      One translation says He repented another says He was sorry for making man. Either way, the Lord is perfect as the Psalm writer says. The interesting part is, the Lord gave man free will to choose good or evil. Therefore, us readers (believers) are learning from the things written in the past (Romans 15:4) and choose righteousness.

    • @sunnyjohnson992
      @sunnyjohnson992 8 месяцев назад

      This doesn’t mean God felt regret in the sense of having made a mistake in his work of creation, for “perfect is his activity.” (Deuteronomy 32:4,5) God felt regret in that the conduct of humans had become so evil that he had a change of attitude as regards the wicked pre-Flood generation. Because of his displeasure over wickedness, God turned from the attitude of the Creator of humans to that of a destroyer of them!
      The apostle Peter’s statement that Christ, as the sacrificial Lamb of God, was “foreknown before the founding of the world” is construed by advocates of predestination to mean that God exercised foreknowledge before mankind’s creation. Rather, this expression evidently relates to the time when the human race was ‘founded’ through the first human pair, Adam and Eve, who outside of Eden, began to conceive and produce children that could benefit from God’s provision for deliverance from inherited sin. (Genesis 3:20-24)

    Many say John the Baptist inspired Jesus to ministry. Why didn’t Jesus choose him to be a disciple or ask him to join him in his travels? The relationship between JohnTB and Jesus has always been something that’s been interesting to me.

    No disrespect intended, but why would one need a commentary? All scripture is profitable for... And we have the best teacher!! God's very own Holy Spiry who leads and guides to all Truth! I have never been able to comprehend how a commentary is helpful. It's an opinion.

    I had heard that the 2020 NASB was not good because it caved in to the gender war and changed pronouns. Is this true? Is it better to stay with the 1995 version?

    HALLO PASTOR PAUL. I FIND IT MANIPULATIVE AND INSINCERE WHEN A PREACHER IS SPEAKING WHILE THERE IS SOME BACKGROUND MUSIC PLAYING. DOES IT NOT BRING A FALSE SENSE OF HOLY SPIRIT ENCOUNTER? CAN'T ONE HAVE AN ENCOUNTER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHOUT THAT BACKGROUND MUSIC? PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN...
