I been researching this, and received my 144001 yesterday. I put a screw in all 4 spots, and took it as low as possible, and still have about a 1/4 suspension, and as you said just a bit higher in back, also I tightened the shocks quite a bit. If you watch Raz Shifren he does amazing speed runs. I set my little one up like his limitless, and I haven't been able to flip it stock. Big power coming soon.
Put droop screws in the rears as well to lower the entire chassis, then lower the fronts lower than the rears. Gives the same angled down effect at the front but entire car is lower, this also reduces the angles on the dog bones in the drive cups at the rear as well as the front. Makes for much smoother running of the transmission & gives higher rpm due to less friction/resistance.
I didn’t bother looking for those because it was such a cheap car. I figured that wasn’t gonna be designed into this car. I’m impressed they thought of that. Thanx for pointing that out.

Have you figured out how to address the 124018 rear suspension being way too stiff? Also, I want a larger capacity battery for both the 124018 and 124019. Have you figured out what will fit?
@@DriftomaniacsRC my goal is to go with a brushless 2s, but a larger battery so we can play longer. My wife and son play with me and I spend a lot of time switching batteries instead of playing

Yes I noticed the autofocus was playing up. I've clean the lens so hopefully sorted it, it does happen now and again as working on the cars I get oil/grease on my hands and sometimes hard as I try it catches the camera and by the time you realise it's too late!
got question if you can help do you notice as you go up in kv which i am running 5200kv i just cant get much braking question is as you go up in kv does breaking get weaker thank you

I'm a huge F1 fan so I'm familiar with the diffuser, in F1 they're bringing back side skirts BTW! How long before we see them on an arrma limitless!!!!
Always run rake , I also flipped the rear arms around give me a bit more wb (144001) and wacked a c24 body on it :-) vid on my page of first shakedown if you are interested. The problem I found with screw was that they tended hammer the metal plate rounded end grubs seemed a bit better in that regard.
There not designed to go that fast, why do you think they have R&D to create the car.. When you start trying to put faster motors in you need to strengthen the parts because they are going to break under stress.. It already has good speed and control..

Noted, but do you realise the 144001 is the best selling RC car under $100? The 124019 will take that crown this year as the extra length means you can easily fit brushless. Also do the 'real' Traxxas and Arrma cars hit 40mph for under $100 like the 144001 does? At $200-250 cars by arrma and traxxas are hitting 30mph. In the hands of the RC Master this 124019 has already gone 92mph. How much is the traxxas X0-1 again that does 100? :-) :-) Ignore this car at your peril!
@@DriftomaniacsRC well noted Richey but all that doesn't mean nothing without a warranty and that's what you're paying for I know I get excellent support from Horizon and Traxxas no-questions-asked. Get that from your China brands.....not gonna happen.. you'll be lucky to have the opportunity to buy parts for it.
@@PhilBender612 It's less than a bar tab. buy more than one. I have 3 coming because at least one is going to hit the 15 ' halfpipe at 70 mph or faster. The xo drive shafts I jus bought for my slash cost more then this car.
@@seanweir7311I understand there is value in these China cars, I just don't like the fact that China steals all the American Technology and reserch & Design and makes a cheap copy of it to sell at a fraction of the price.. It's the very reason why all these cool cars are expensive. China does zero research and development, they just steal it from our manufacturers.
@@PhilBender612 America has done this to itself. Sending companies overseas to manufacture there products cheaper and sell the products at the same price thus giving them the extra profit. If our manufacturers keep this up were never gonna have quality products at affordable prices

yep keeping all the rods and shafts horizontal is the key.and doing adjustments from that.
Yes also move the rear arms hinge pins over to the 2 inboard holes at the rear of the chassis to take out the rear wheels toe in.

I've squeezed a lectronic 2700mah 3S lipo in both
you could ease the springs off and do this same mod to the rear to lower it

It is actually the void of air under the back that creates a low pressure zone and pulls the car down!

Well Calvin you could try it on this but this has a 550 motor so you've plenty of space to go bigger than the micro x
