      @@tylerhubbell6410 I’ve been riding for about two weeks with them, so far VERY little signs of “leak” but I’ll admit I’ve only ridden it around locally for 50 miles or so and haven’t romped on the throttle much. I love the simplicity and hoping for the best (that’s the regular kind of riding I do) but first sign of it being messy, they’re gone and I’ll run banjo bolts with hoses.

    Did the breather bolts for older bikes have smaller holes in them than the breathers for EFI bikes?

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  3 года назад

      I think they're the same size from 1991 to current. I good place to check is DK Customs. They sell lots of aftermarket parts for Sportsters and they're pretty helpful with fitment etc.

      @@TheJourneyRUclips OK... picked up Chrome Arlen Ness big sucker for 2012 Sportster off Ebay and just want to make sure it has the correct bolts since it appears to missing a set. Bolts that came with it look like yours with the larger holes in them, I just question them because the stock bolts removed had a large opening on the outside of them but the other end that goes into the motor had a way smaller hole on the end. Thanks.

    The bolt that holds in the stock bracket. Is it important that it would need to go back in or not? My instructions didn't say anything about this. Any knowledge about why it would be left open. Should a bolt be in there to seal it? Just wondering and any input would be great!

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  3 года назад +1

      Is it the one toward the top? Mine never went back in either. I believe it was just for mounting purposes for the stock air box and is no longer used. I see no functional reason to install a bolt there unless you don't like the aesthetic of seeing the open threads.

    Do you need to dyna the bike after a new air filter and or get the fuel pack?

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  3 года назад

      I assume you mean dyno tune? You don't need to tune the bike on a dyno if you only change the air cleaner. For many bolt-on performance upgrades, the installation of the FP3 and choosing the property settings on the FP3 will be sufficient. Hope this answers your question.

    thx for the vid, did you use a torque wrench? if so what specs

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching. I didn't use a torque wrench because the torque specs were so low that not even my in-lb. torque wrench read low enough. The instructions stated the settings so you should get all the specs you need with the new air filter, but I'm sorry that I forget what they were. Plus, with loctite, you don't need to worry about going tight. Don't overdo it and strip anything! You only need to go a little more than finger tight if I remember correctly.

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  Год назад

      I think so, but not significant. It feels faster, but that could be a placebo effect because it sounds so good. Still worthwhile. If you want the most performance, get a 2 into 1 pipe.

    Is that breather smaller than the original OEM one

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  2 года назад +1

      If by breather, you mean the air cleaner... This air cleaner looks smaller because it doesn't have the massive cover like the stock one, but it has much more surface area and let's in a lot more air than stock. There are also breather bolts. The size of those is irrelevant/ they are the same for all intents and purposes. Thanks for watching.
