Re-seller opinion about DF64: "Bad" Grinder (featuring PL81T)

  • First i don't sell this grinder so this is certainly not a biased opinion.
    I have had Anfim KS-T, ECM manuale 64, Sette 270, Niche Zero and still have HG-1, Ditting, Urbanic, PL72 and Remidag until today.
    This grinder should be an eye opening for other manufacturer, that we can have good grinder without having to break our pocket.
    All single dosing grinder available before was extremely expensive.
    Through DF64 we can understand better the cost of production in China.
    What else brand made in China?
    Niche Zero? Key Webber?
    Help me writr in the comment if you know any big brand that actually made in China.
    Let's hope for more product like this to be available in the market for all home barista around the world.
    DF64 can be paired with any entry level espresso machine and will certainly create great combo.
    With Lelit Grace which is cheaper by EUR200 from its big sister Victoria, you have that extra money to buy a decent espresso grinder like DF64.
    Cognac Infused Coffee provide stronger cognac aroma and taste after it cools down.
    Give it a try if you don't believe me

    I have the Victoria and very happy with it. I noticed your Grace has a shot count down timer. I know that other Lelit machines have a count down timer, but I thought the Grace and Victoria didn't? I did see a couple of official responses from Lelit saying they don't have this function. Did yours ship with this? Or have you modified?

    Hi Stefanus, thank you for making these videos. I’ve seen the Lelit Victoria in your videos and I wonder if you would recommend it for a would-be first time espresso machine owner?
    I looked at Gaggia because of its popularity and availability in SG, but it looks like it needs PID and OPV mods to make it consistent. I’m not sure if that makes sense in terms of effort and money.
    Victoria seems to tick the box - 58mm, PID, (OPV can be adjusted). Of course more expensive but do you think it’s worth it in terms of espresso-making ability and longevity?
    I’m also looking at MaraX but the 20min warm up time + price makes it a big barrier for me. Happy to be convinced otherwise though, and if you have other machine suggestions.

      Hi if your grinder is new i suggest to simply season it with 1-2kg coffee, then slowly you will arrive at the right setting with the right result as well. I'm currently at 4 for old beans.
      But seriously every grinder will be slightly differrent depending on the calibration done

    I have the lelit pl72 William. Thinking of possibly trying to put in ssp red burrs or to switch over to df64 with ssp red.
    How do you think they will compare as I know you own both

    • @StefanusGoana
      @StefanusGoana  2 года назад +1

      Unfortunately ssp burr won't fit in PL72. Lets hope lelit will produce and sell their own red speed coating burr

      Thanks now I don't need to experiment. How would you compare the William and df64? With or without ssp

    • @StefanusGoana
      @StefanusGoana  2 года назад +1

      @@davidchiu1296 I do not have ssp burr as for now so i can't really comment on this. However PL72 surely can improve alot more if we could upgrade our burr.
      PL72 is a total different concept interms of workflow, because it has hopper and electronic timer for dosing and design specifically for espresso user as it accomodate any portafilter perfectly.
      DF64 on the other side just a simple on off button and less power motor compare to PL72 that translate to slower grind time.
      Which workflow is better for you?

    I believe it's a knock off of the Lagom p64, but it's a lot cheaper, and it is a really great more affordable option, not perfect but can easily be modded to be almost as great as a Lagom I think. Even with stock burrs the DF64 is great for bringing out the flavours in light roasts, Definitely a change for someone used to a lower clarity, higher body grinders, some people might not love the lack of body out if it, i don't think it's best for darker more traditional espresso.

    • @StefanusGoana
      @StefanusGoana  2 года назад +1

      Not to forget Lagom has RPM adjustment, if DF64 able to add this feature in the future then it will be a killer for many other grinder
