[just noticed that its picture on Wikipedia was taken on June 23th 2018, so you almost could have been on it] Glad Kyde took the time to mention (and show) her send-off of her go-to jacket as it suited her so well, and for so long. Love you both.

    Gorgeous sunflowers!
    Aw, RIP to Kyde's jacket.
    I always worry about Eric driving in the rain. (Even though this is posted after the fact, so he obviously survived. Duh. Still makes me nervous to see it.)
    It wouldn't be the same without Eric and his classic, bad footwear choices! Ugh, wet feet are the worst.
    Please explain that orange-y, robot-y thing! I can't decide it it's cute or terrifying.

    I hate that robot baby.
    The first time I saw it was at a tourist facility, where an elderly couple and their wives were holding it.
    I glanced at them and thought, ``Oh, there's an elderly couple walking around carrying a child with some sort of disability. I shouldn't be staring at them.'' I felt sorry for them because they had a child with them who was small for their age, and they thought that the child probably had some kind of disability and was unable to walk on his own and was being carried by his elderly parents. Because I felt it.
    When my eyes met them again after a while, I realized that it was the robot they were holding. And for some reason I got a little angry.

    If you'd driven faster your visor would have likely cleared, if you cracked the bottom open a tad it wouldn't steam up either. If you were going for poor visibilty & foggy, along with being drenched by passing traffic - you nailed it 👍
    What worries me more is riding with casual light attire. Tarmac loves ripping through that stuff to get to your skin. I know leathers/boots or at least heavy duty stuff can be a pita to put on but I'd rather that than lose skin. Please look at getting some in future, even a good waxproof bike jacket & pants along with heavier duty shoes & gloves would be better (what I started off with).
    I used to wear the full leathers/boots/gloves I wore on my sports bikes for my mopeds too, even for short rides. Got some weird looks but who cares when I was safer, warmer & waterproof 😁
    I have the scars to prove what tarmac can do, even with heavy protection, so I dread to think what the result would be with t-shirts & plimsolls. 🤕
    From a concerned viewer 😔

      During my biking years I always rolled with at a minimum quality helmet, armored jacket, real motorcycle gloves and boots. We all make choices.

    • @mc127
      @mc127 3 месяца назад +1

      As above, going slow makes things worst, speed and air flow helps. Also look up Rain X plastic for better clearance of water on the visor (and camera).
      p.s. do get some real gear, especially for your better half.
      another p.s. you may have to lower your wind screen as this will increase air flow and reduce fogging and clearing water from visor (and open vents in helmet). I also have a scooty, but mine has electric wind screen, so it's a balance between protection and air flow.

    Next summer I might do a similar Hokkaido scooter trip. Is a foreign Drivers License good enough to rent a scooter in Hakodate or do I need a special Motorcycle Foreign Drivers License??

    • @kydeanderic
      @kydeanderic  3 месяца назад

      You will need to have a motorcycle license from your home country and an official
      "international driving permit". In the states you get that from AAA, for example. Its an easy process. But if your license only shows you can drive a car, then you won't be able to drive a motorbike here. *Maaaybe* you can drive up to a 49cc scooter on that, but I'm not totally sure how that works. -E
