That's the one my husband suggests and uses for bike rides. It was how he planned our quicker route from our apartment to church in CPH. Google wanted us to take a different route that is actually longer!
I love this video so much!! It’s like getting a little glimpse inside your brain - I love how happy and grateful you are ❤️ and the ‘bonjour cows’ was the best 😂
For an efficient route, you could try changing Google map settings to EV and the “prefer fuel efficient routes” when setting up a route. You can also change the settings to avoid motorways and tolls if needed
We just recently watched the electric van series and then here comes Louis, back with another electric vehicle trip. Just for our very stressful viewing pleasure. :)
Ay! Louis! Always making me stressed with you and your electric vehicles range ! I admire you for being so adventurous and a amazing independent family human!
its great to see what you're up to nowadays louis, i used to watch your vlogs back years ago when you travelled nonstop living nomadically, you were, and still are a big inspiration to me with your positive way of living and the way you live and share your life iv recently got my own electric bike, just a pedal assist but so glad i got it instead of the usual modes most people still unfortunately get, i salute you and everyone who chooses the better option I'll try keep your latest adventure in mind to watch and see how it all goes for you i always wanted to bump into you somehow, i still hope i get that chance someday peace out ✌️ enjoyyyy lifeee and I'll maybe see you somewhere someday dude 💙
Stop grabbing that front brake while turning! If you want to use it, be gentle with it and progressively squeeze it. Grabbing a handful will throw you off 99% of the time, even in a straight line. Progressive braking is key to load up the front tyre.
@funforluis Hello from Trujillo Perú. Walker mode on Google Maps shows altitude. Lifting 1kg 1m takes 9.8 Joules of energy. 1wh=3600j It's very important to calculate energy consumption. Going up hill 10k can use as much battery as riding 50k on the flat. Reduce your centre of gravity. Put your extra battery between your legs, not on the back of your scooter.
Great to see you on another adventure. Every time you hit a bump or had to lift the bike I was so concerned about your double hernia and it ended up being your back that caused an issue. Stay safe and have fun. Love watching you!
Now this feels like old times following @FunForLouis on his adventures. My favorite adventures so far were the India trip with all the guys in tuc-tuc's, The flight around the world and the electric VW Bug across the USA. Loving the new renewable series of adventures. Are there any viable electric ultralight planes for the next big adventure?
I love the van across America series. I'll be following this as well. I'm happy the audio is really good and you are exclaiming over the scenery! Well done!
Just a thought, but would your back up power bank fit between your feet on the "running" board? If so, it might help with keeping a lower point of gravity.
Even before I started watching, I knew Louis was going to run his batteries out!🤣🤣 but he keeps us on the edge as we cross our fingers for the batteries to reach next charging point. Who remembers the converted electric VW combi great trip in the US? Great guy he takes all his audience with him on the trip. Cant wait the next one...off to Instagram to check!😂
I loved this video! It is so similar to your ride across the U.S. in your electric VW bus. I love these types of situations you get yourself into! You are a unique person, Louis Cole! Can't wait to see more of this solar-powered moped trip!
Such a great video Louis, I'm looking forward to watching the rest of your journey to Italy through this series. It was amazing to meet you and Neo in Brighton on Wednesday! I hope that you had a lovely rest of your day in the Sunshine, thank you and all the best Chelsie x
Another shout for Komoot for planning your route. Glad you worked out that putting it on the centre stand whilst stood next to it is the way forward. Lastly if you drop it again face away from the bike and use your legs to lift it up a little at a time is much easier.
You are such an inspiration Louis, and one of the best fathers I have ever seen. Take care with the hernia and your back. I hope people are kind to you on this journey and help you out, like you do with others.
Use brouter for planning and locus maps for navigation with the file you created in brouter. There's plenty of vehicle parameters to choose from, even velomobiles have several depending on your gusto.
@@BarrysNutsTouchFloor Luckily I think the batteries are removable so he could buy a new one. Unlike an EV car that would cost many thousands to replace!
@dannygahan4718 I have a scooter from that same brand and they have quite big buffers both top and bottom, I dont think this would do any measurable damage to them .
Hi Louis, I use calimoto for road riding on a motorbike. Avoids motorways and you can customise your route. Well done for taking on this challenge a great way to travel and explore 🙏👍🏍️
Louis, loving another long distance EV adventure ... the conversion and drive across the US was fab. Just spotted you wee in Uganda in 2013. We were based out there in 2011-2014 curious if we crossed paths.
Hi Louis, hope you enjoy your trip. How did you drive in Europe with L plates for the bike? All the information when I have researched this it says UK cannot drive in europe with L plates
You dropping the bike multiple times got me laughing XD, also on another note, I own an electric bike too. It's the best feeling to go silently down the countryside listening to nature.
One piece of advice would be to perhaps turn the "ignition" off when you come to a stop. It looks like you accidentally pulled the throttle when those guys were trying to help you. Could've ended badly if it had gone into the back of all those bikes. Good luck!
I remember discussing with you, traveling across the US in your VW bus on nothing but solar energy. Much more of a dream than reality. This, however, is very doable. However,…you got me started on a campaign to have the percentage of renewable energy indicated on every. EV charge dispenser…so that folks can do just that. Don’t ever underestimate the influence that you have.
I was surprised to see you didn't have exacting clothing plans. And then I remembered who I was watching and what I seen you do. Louis, you'll be just grand 😁
I guess you'll make sure that your solar panels are out 10am-3pm every day then ride after 3pm to deplete the battery, just to maximise solar? No idea on best mapping sorry. EDIT - should have waited, you answered a few mins later - 5pm set off.
This is amazing, brave to try this new tech voyage. Interesting to see results. Those NIU bikes are amazing. It's a pity there are public facilities to charge them at motorbike bays.
i used to watch your vlogs a lot since your single era. Your dad is still looking the same! cant believe louis still has that hair haha. I guess im back to watching your vlogs!
I would highly recomend Off Grid Trek they have very efficient solar pannels they work in low light and shady areas they are expensive but will work on overcast days
Loui, motorcycle driver 101, when your bike falls on a side you have to lift it up using your back not your front, otherwise you will make yourself another hernia!!!
Thank you Louis! This came up in my YT feed, no idea why. But I loved the whole journey and it inspired me to buy my own NIU electric scooter that I collected today! I would love to know how you made the connections to your solar PV panels. The battery connector seems to be proprietary NIU. I would like to setup a system with a solar charge controller and an inverter to power AC appliances from the NIU battery. Could anyone help?
Just an observation but if you use folding solar panels you can drape them over the back of the bike or your own back and they will at least put some nominal charge in while you're riding.
Mate I know it’s rotten of me but I literally laughed each time you dropped it. I’m only 7 mins in and gonna watch all episodes. Looks like I’m a local neighbour to you too! 👀
Louis! Seeing you lift the bike multiple times after double hernia surgery is killing me! Take care, man.
Ditto, I think Louis is super fit that’s why his recovery was pretty good
Louis have you a license lol 😂😂 so funny. My god Louis you’re giving us a heart attack
He needs to lift the bike like Itchy Boots does. Back to the bike.
I got a severe bad back myself and seeing this makes me feel his pain.
@@JosephineJames-x7b I don't think so... He had L plates on in the UK, so I'm guessing he's illegally riding in Europe. Weird.
You could use Komoot on the road cycling setting. It will choose the best route point to point, using popular cycling routes.
That's the one my husband suggests and uses for bike rides. It was how he planned our quicker route from our apartment to church in CPH. Google wanted us to take a different route that is actually longer!

Every single time i click a video from Louis i already know my vibes are going to be happy. Such a positive guy! thanks for the uploads!
But then it’ll never finish and no word back from him.
Like that electric van in the US.
Such a waste of time watching hoping for better results.
This is exciting!
Nothing like a double hernia to get you in the mood for an overland solar adventure, ideal preparation!
For an efficient route, you could try changing Google map settings to EV and the “prefer fuel efficient routes” when setting up a route. You can also change the settings to avoid motorways and tolls if needed
Perfect answer 😁
Google sucks ESPECIALLY in France.
That said we need to BAN YANKEE MONOPOLIES
This just randomly popped up on my feed and now I'm totally invested in this trip!
Love this old styled video! Keep em coming
falling off twice within 2 minutes, only you louis 🤣
really bad, high mount point for the heaviest load on the bike. scooters with their small wheels fall off easier than normal bikes.
Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman know how you feel, they fell hundreds of times in the movies "Long Way Down" some in "Long Way Down"

its great to see what you're up to nowadays louis, i used to watch your vlogs back years ago when you travelled nonstop living nomadically, you were, and still are a big inspiration to me with your positive way of living and the way you live and share your life

Be safe brother, lifting and pushing that moto after a double hernia is nothing to mess with. Nonetheless have fun and ride easy! Safe travels 🖤
I adore your authenticity, so fun!
Oh I love these vlogs. Please be safe. Don't hurt yourself ❤
I’m so psyched to watch this series. Good on you Louis. You are still always enjoying life and living the adventure. Boom!
Epic road trip, the challenge, adventure, people you meet, memories that last for a lifetime, food, and scenery should make this worthwhile.

Great trip Louis! I've had e-bikes for about 3 years now and watching attempts like this is really interesting mate! Noice one bruddr!
Get in Louis glad to see more of these adventures❤️❤️❤️
Excited for this series!
I ride a much less capable/expensive electric moped around North Carolina. This is going to be a "gas!"
If you want to go really long distance by solar power, it might actually make sense to ride at night and let the batteries charge during the day...
I always thoroughly enjoy a Louis road trip!
Louis, look after yourself! You're a trooper but you're still human. Great video xx
Lifting that bike up after surgery 2 weeks ago you are crazy
What an adventure ,so nice to see ,you get the essence ,of biking (even if it is electric) You are in the environment ,huge difference ,to driving .

The motorcyclists helping Louis out as he drops the scooter multiple times had me cracking up.
Love this! The constant theme I’m noticing with this video: “I’m good I’m good I got this! “ 10 minutes later: “ok, I don’t know where I am” 😂😂😂
I’m sure he will love the gift of the bike when it arrives… Broken and scratched to bits! 😅

Nice idea, I used to commute from Liverpool to London in the '70's - on a Honda 50, great fun!
I love these videos. You could try attaching a solar panel to the back of your bike to charge your extra battery.
I love all the EV/sustainability videos! Thank you

So excited for this journey!
The boom is back 🎉
Nice Chemtrails in the sky as you set out on your ride...wonder how long before it turned cloudy.
Facts !!! They keep spraying crap. God bless you in Jesus name 🙏
I see those tic tok toe and pentagram patterns in so many vlogs. Also here in the hill country. Bas tards.
consistent theme with all of Louis battery adventures... overly ambitious expectations of battery capabilities.
Sweeeet, love these solar trips!
Fun video. Reminds me of the EV Van videos lol. A bit of anxiety but lot of fun to watch!
You should have a caffeine battery as well! Love this trip.
