Can you try charging your extra battery while on the road? Use 1 solar panel from behind your bag or something and get a tiny bit to charge,maybe can get a few percent 😅😅
If you even make just little shadow on solar panels you almost loos the total power of it 😮 and btw charging ad mid day without clouds ( weatherforcast) is the most efficient way to such a journey good luck

It is amazing what can be done with technology these days. As in your case, it is cool to be able to get the shot without having anyone else to film you moving around. Having said that, it would be even more amazing if there wasn’t a delay in starting and stoping the movement and if it could get the proper head room. But, when you are by yourself, it’s not too bad to have this kind of help! How long does it take to get a full charge from being completely dead, or are you just now finding that out?

Originally I was going to comment that it might be more efficient to charge with DC-DC but if the voltages are significantly different the boost up and step down of voltages can be just as inefficient as the AC conversion.

I was just going through the specification for the bike for distance, speed, charging etc. I'm starting to wonder if you may be better off running a a much faster speed. Yes it would reduce your range, but you would get much more time to charge between rides. Losing around 12km/ride. But getting to a destination in just over half the time. Turning a 3 hour ride into a 1.5 hour ride. Would the extra 1.5 hours of charging more than make up the loss of distance per charge? Also, my experience of riding electric, it may be better to try and keep up a pace when going uphill. The theory being less time stressing the motor resulting in an overall less power drain. There is a balance as obviously you don't want to be ragging it up hills as that would bring your distance back down again. Just a thought.
Agreed! In our electric van trip from Barcelona to UK, we calculated it was better to go faster for an earlier charging session. The bummer is when your low on battery and forced to eek out the power as best as you can. Good fun though. France is the place to do it!!
I love a road trip like this. But you already cheated on the first day... You had to find a local to help you that last mile. Not to charge the battery a bit. Kind of dissapointing from the start, but les see wot you gut 😁
You cannot drive abroad using a provisional licence. You need to remove the L plate at once. You drive without a driving licence and every cop will stop you. Without licence you are not insured. Insurence is mandatory in the EU.
So 90 miles. That will not even get you outside the US State of Iowa if starting from the middle of the state. 300+ mile range with instantaneous power source change is the standard (a la filling a fuel tank full with gasoline).
This solution is so flawed and atrocious, the bike is so slow, the charging is so slow, your so overloaded, this whole idea is just bad. You should have ditched the solar part and just allowed wall charging.
