  • Are you thinking about moving to Cranford New Jersey? Let’s explore Cranford New Jersey today!
There are a lot of really convenient and desired features of having a walkable Town Center where you can walk on a given weekday afternoon like I am here today or on a weekend and just have plenty of options. Cranford is even above Westfield when it comes to their dining options and the overall variety that is available Westfield. We are a suburb of New York City that is very close to Penn Station, which is probably about 35 to 40 minutes away from Cranford. The schools in Cranford are excellent, just like those in Scotch Plains, and Fanwood. Cranford's lower end will be a high-end neighborhood in 30 years, similar to brandfood business in terms of finishing and appliances, with laundry facilities on the second story. Farwood is a closer commute to a train that is at the Grand Station because we are approximately a half-mile from the Garwood railway station.

Bought into Cranford in 2010 after the housing crash. It's a great town. Restaurant scene now surpasses Westfield. No complaints. Wouldn't worry about the flooding. Homes in the flood zone are priced to reflect that. If you're paying less $600K, you're probably in the zone.

Thanks for the comment @garydorfner6695! I agree that Cranford is a great town, and the restaurant scene has indeed surpassed Westfield.

I grew up here, and it was wonderful to be a child in the 1960's in this amazing unique place, with the Rahway River Greenway and Nomahegan Park to ride our bikes to, and a downtown area that was a kid's dream with toy stores, old-fashioned 1950's soda shops and an ornate 1920's art deco movie house that has now sadly been transformed into a triplex. One of the only businesses from that time left is Breem's Liquor, which is remarkably unchanged today, including its classic outdoor metal sign. I must say though that the rap-style music you have chosen does not seem to fit in with the quaint, classic antiqueness that is the hallmark of Cranford's town character.

I think an important thing to note is that you need to transfer most of the time from Newark Penn.

Yes, and important note @user-jp9yv4ex3v! It is much more convenient to have a direct train with no changes in Newark. But thousands do it everyday.

Flooding from the Rahway river is a huge concern for people there. It’s no joke how bad it can get

Very true @James, this is always a factor to consider when purchasing in a flood area. Thanks for the comment!

It's a concern for sure in certain areas. My house is in modified zone X, it only flooded during Sandy. I dont know how bad. I didn't own it. I'm about a mile walk from Downtown and I can walk my kids to BAS.
