I grew up on Franklin Pl. in Montclair from the mid 1950s through mid 60s. I was 3 when I moved there. The houses on the other side of the street had their backyards right on the Glen Ridge line. I was always jealous of the gas street lamps that lined many of the Glen Ridge streets. I mean, we weren't doing bad in Montclair, but even at an early age, I knew that Glen Ridge had some exclusivity to it. Some stunning houses and so clean.

I finally made it out to the fancy side of my town. I was 53 but I guess that's better than 83 or never. LOL. I'm in a garden home Little section stuck between things called Bobbin Heights and Horsey Hills and what not. Most of the residents downsized to these cute lil houses from places called Golden Golf Lands and Haughty Highlands lol. Who needs 5 rooms ya never go into? Not I, I went over for a walk to the big mansions only a tiny bit away and a guy told me: "oh you live in the hammock? I guess our maids and cooks need to live some where." LOL I guess he could tell I grew up modestly and maybe he thinks I'm just a wannabe. Rich people are kinda mean sometimes. Just saying.
