The biggest concern I have with European vehicles is finding out what tools I need for the job and the process. Yes I have the IM608 but besides the Autel support that tells me what I can do, that list doesn’t tell me required tools for the job or module locations. When you have a customer on the phone, it’s easier to say no because there’s so much unknown.

My concern is how to find the location of the BCM, I'm talking about other vehicles. I come from very far away and I only speak French, luckily we have the technology to do the translation. I recently got called for a 2016 Audi A5 and followed these steps but it never read the data or vehicle information. I think my soldering wasn't the best or maybe the power supply I tried to use wasn't good. However I'm not giving up, I recently did a 2014 328i with the FEM system and it took me several hours but I ended up with 350 USD in my pocket and a happy customer👍🏼

Hi This is not possible with VAG GROUP cars in the UK we are still blocked from doing CS calculations on server . Its a shame that I bought the tool and 6 months later we were not able to carry out key programming for vag group cars after 2013 . Have autel managed to figure out a way to implement CS bite calculations for the uk market again ? I heard Autel did so for the US market after the initial server block but not the UK ? Any information would be greatily received .

Yes, correct. Remember after 2013 the BCM2 are encrypted. Thats why you can do it via obd after this year. You have to do it on the bench. Hope this makes sense

Nissan tsb said fault linked to coil must replace whole ignition. Nearly got me. Very nearly believed the bullshit. Used a total different machine from America. Coded original key back in within 40 seconds and no bullshit involved too.

There's a lot of complexity to the base systems the European vehicles tend to have. You can also run into having people who bought them from a scrap wreckers with unknown history or maybe they had the car go bust so they brought it to a shop. Expensive to work on, expensive to maintain, expensive if you mess up anything. It's a balance of risk/reward. These videos certainly help install confidence though.

I have been trying desperately to program a key to a 2012 Audi A7 and the are no keys programmed to the vehicle currently. Comfort Access, using an im508 and xp400. The videos I've seen don't mention having to jump wires when all keys lost. Why does it require me to have a key when it's all keys lost? It won't allow me to make a dealer key without it.
I dont know for sure . What I usually do when a client books a consult with me is get the vin year make and model and I will send it to my engineer. He will tell me the limitations or if the tool can do it. If it cant there is a safer way to do via obd with a laptop. You should ask your supplier to do the same to give you an answer
I'm still being a little messed up about those encrypted and unencrypted versions of bcm2. The thing is I happened to program an A6 2016my via obd and everything was perfect! The keys worked fine. But now you tell me that it is impossible with cars after 2013... How come?

What are we even supposed to charge a customer when akl. In my area bmw, Audi, merc, and Volvo charge $250-350 for new key. Just doesn’t seem like it’s worth it.
@@tomking3942I second that. Having had to spend time learning all this. I don't quote low to do it. To much of a risk. I don't count my no call backs ever on these. I find they call me months later anyways after having shopped around and even blowing some money to have it done "cheaper"

HI Brian. From all the consultations I get with people who are working with audi's Its a combination of both. Sometimes the Audi system resets all the keys for what ever reason. Sometimes the tech click the wrong button and erases the keys.

Im watching just out of need to rekey my porsche but i can tell you that there is not one lock smith at all in my erea that will touch my car so i have decided to educate myself and do it on my own .i may be wrong but from what i can gather you take the eprom and dump it so u can get whatever information you can , save that then clear it so you can rewrite it to your car .

Thats a difficult one. You have be able to prove that you didnt screw up the BCM. What I would do is scan the vehicle and save the diagnostic report right when you get the vehicle. This way you can see all the existing faults that where in the car when it arrived to you. After you save the initial report .. Then erase all the error codes . Then if any fault codes come up again.. then you know that those modules have an underlining condition. Then tell the customer that in order to do this procedure you need to fix the ( BCM) first.. If you dont then you wont be able to do the procedure.
This has been happening in my area. The same guy has bricked 4 Audi cars. Two where just full prox and he had no sync data (easy fix with a different tool) and two he bricked, I had to go behind him and fix the car with ODIS. PLEASE understand what is happening here and do not try this unless you know someone to fix a mistake. The guy I’m my area is damaging car because of lake of skills and knowledge (also bricked Audi RB8 dash obd with 608 and a FEM with 608) I’m not saying this video can help you but just understand that the risk is real. Do not be a disservice to the customer because you do not know what you are doing.
That's crazy, do you get enough audi/vag cars to justify the price of ODIS? Last time i checked audi license was $750 a year and the toughbook unit was $7,000. I get 1 audi key job a year lol so i don't even bother.
Soldering isn't the problem, but it's the harm to make the Audi not work No matter how hard you struggle, there's a person who calculates the CS code and the sync data
Don't forget to take pictures of codes. Machine doesn't save the information 😮. Had to do a Mercedes twice because it failed to identify the key as the one I had started with... The xp400 updated halfway through... but that's another thing that pisses me off about the machine😮
It always pissed me off, the fact that the menu buttons are not in the order that you would actually use them😮 And that product support is on the East Coast which is pretty much banker's hours to the West Coast technicians😮

We are charging 425.00 to do a akl at our shop. 575. Out in the field. People who want to go to the dealer won’t call you anyway

Same here. It’s always a risk when u desolder chips. Most I know that do it keep certain chips in stock in case a chip is fried
Im watching just out of need to rekey my porsche but i can tell you that there is not one lock smith at all in my erea that will touch my car so i have decided to educate myself and do it on my own .i may be wrong but from what i can gather you take the eprom and dump it so u can get whatever information you can , save that then clear it so you can rewrite it to your car .

How do you sell the customer when the bcm may have been screwed already by the previous tech ?
Thats a difficult one. You have be able to prove that you didnt screw up the BCM. What I would do is scan the vehicle and save the diagnostic report right when you get the vehicle. This way you can see all the existing faults that where in the car when it arrived to you. After you save the initial report .. Then erase all the error codes . Then if any fault codes come up again.. then you know that those modules have an underlining condition. Then tell the customer that in order to do this procedure you need to fix the ( BCM) first.. If you dont then you wont be able to do the procedure.
This has been happening in my area. The same guy has bricked 4 Audi cars. Two where just full prox and he had no sync data (easy fix with a different tool) and two he bricked, I had to go behind him and fix the car with ODIS. PLEASE understand what is happening here and do not try this unless you know someone to fix a mistake. The guy I’m my area is damaging car because of lake of skills and knowledge (also bricked Audi RB8 dash obd with 608 and a FEM with 608) I’m not saying this video can help you but just understand that the risk is real. Do not be a disservice to the customer because you do not know what you are doing.
That's crazy, do you get enough audi/vag cars to justify the price of ODIS? Last time i checked audi license was $750 a year and the toughbook unit was $7,000. I get 1 audi key job a year lol so i don't even bother.

God this looks like a great way to brick the J393. A bunch of messing around, a subscription to ODIS makes way more sense than this dog and pony show.

Had to do a Mercedes twice because it failed to identify the key as the one I had started with...
The xp400 updated halfway through... but that's another thing that pisses me off about the machine😮
It always pissed me off, the fact that the menu buttons are not in the order that you would actually use them😮
And that product support is on the East Coast which is pretty much banker's hours to the West Coast technicians😮
