The good the bad and the ugly danish national orchestra reaction. If you are a lover of movies or western movies, you have definitely seen this Clint Eastwood classic.
The soundtrack or theme also happens to be as famous as the movie itself.Who can forget that iconic whistle sound?
A lady from the Danish orchestra recreated that whistle sound in this video.
This is a fantastic rendition and has to be seen.Enjoy the reaction folks.
In my opinion , this has to be the most outstanding rendition of Morricone's work , ever . Its just perfection.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever!
When Christine Anderson started singing, I heard an angel with wings singing out of heaven. Her singing made me tear up. She hit my soul.
so much talent. the waa waa lady, the so so serious violin player, the
horn player with whale lungs and OMG the angel on balcony. just look at
all the peoples eyes so into it so much talent!
The whistling lady is Tuva Semmingsen, she has an incredible singing voice, check out her videos.
It will never get any better than this! I grew up on Clint Eastwood Western!
the 2nd theme is very good .. Ecstasy of gold .. Ennio Morricone was a great composer .. RIP M. Morricone
If if that style of play isn't for you, you still have to appreciate the amazing amount of talent it takes to bring all those different instruments and peoples voices together to make such an amazing sound. Personally, I absolutely love the sound of that song done by this orchestra. It gives me goose bumps every time.
fun fact: in the movie soundtrack, the same music was used for each character- but they changed the lead instrument giving the individual a "theme" every time they appeared on screen. The music was coequal in importance to the dialogue.
timeless precious and an example of human harmony at its finest
This orchestra performed the themes from the first two movies as well, highly recommend! Fistful of Dollars & For a Few Dollars More.
I just love beautiful music, no matter what genre. Classical, jazz, blues, rock'n roll, rock, pop, rap and soul, house, trance and even the last dance. Music is so powerful and knows no borders!.. my mankind brothers....greetings from Berlin/Germany.
such perfection by so many. but the way angel on balcony above everyone with voice over top is so beautiful.
The conductor is Sarah Hatsuko Hicks (born 1970 or 1971 (age 52-53 is a Japanese-born American orchestral conductor. Since 2009, she has been the Principal Conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall for the Minnesota Orchestra, and also serves as Staff Conductor at the Curtis Institute of Music.
The Wha Wha lady is Tuva Semmingsen, she is born in 1975 in Norway. She is a very well known mezzo sopran.
I am told it was Christine's first solo as a Sopran. Born in 1985 in Denmark.
I'm the luckiest SOB - I'm going to this concert live Aug 17th, when all the talented people are together and do this again, 4 yours after the incredible 100M+ views youtube success.
For me this is more than just music..... I can not just listen to it from across the room.....I have to watch it being played.... and since I listen to it 3-4 times a day I put in a lot of my day into this. My other favorites ....dancing with wolves played on bag pipes....Magnificent Seven.....they play so very many music themed movies.....gets me thru alot of down times
An amazing piece of music! Check out other stuff from the Danish National Orchestra, can't go wrong. Good luck Harri.
My favourite movie too.saw it when first released. In tha 60s. I usually watch this at least once a week.
Epic song to an epic movie
You mentioned the Shadows. That brought a memory of them doing some music in the movie " Thunderbirds Are Go ". Can't find that song anywhere.
We need to celebrate the man Clint Eastwood before he is gone. He is 91 y.o.
I COULD ONLY SEE HALF OF THE SCREEN POTRAYING THE DANISH ORCHESTRA - SO MANY THINGS THAT WERE MISSED BECAUSE OF THIS.
for my musicians out there its all about the poly rhythms on the final phrase
Tuva Semmingsen (the wah wah lady)...she's amazing....now, go find "Bang Bang" from her...she's wearing 6 gun earrings. Go.
Lol 😆, when I saw it, I thought it was breaking strings, people freaking out and walking out!
seen this before and loved it
Det danske symfoni orkester ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks. A danish Dear ❤️❤️
Thanks for a nice reaction 😀👍 I’m from Denmark I have never seen or heard that version before
The late great Maestro Ennio Morricone favorite soprano is none other than the great Edda Dell O'rso. He has use her great vocal talents on every Italian movie western that Clint Eastwood has acted in. And her greatest work was the beautiful "Once Upon A Time In The West." This soprano Christine did a great job here as well. Great reaction and upload.
I'm not a huge fan of westerns, but if you haven't seen the movie, do yourself a favor and watch it immediately!! And I've never met one person on Earth who doesn't like this theme!!
Music was written for Film by childhood friend (Ennio) of the Italian directed (Sergio) in 1966.
Combining orchestra, choral, solos, and special instruments for a Spaghetti Western largely filmed in Spain. Teve (female singer) is well known. Check her other performances on RUclips.
Tuva
I think the conductor was actually indicating the dancing/cascading nature of the ladies' vocal part in that moment.
Awesome movie. Awesome rendition.
The chic doing the whistle and such wow no one could've done it better outstanding 👏 take a bow y'all loved it
That's one of my fav movies.
I just looked it up in Hilburn's Top 40 Hits book and the original version of this theme, recorded by conductor Hugh Montenegro and his orchestra, reached #2 on the Pop charts in April 1968. It's a brilliant theme by Ennio Morricone, as are the other two in this trilogy, "A Fistful of Dollars" and "For A Few Dollars More." The Danish National Orchestra also performed these two so you should check them out on RUclips as well.
Loved your reaction 🤩😄 Remember The Shadows well and the guitar sound. I believe that Cliff Richard bought the guitar, one of the first Fender? guitars out of the States? If I recollect right from Cliff interwiew. The Shadows was a instumental band, lot of vrey good tunes. They were the backing groupe to Cliff 🥰😇😉
Ennio Morricone was a musical genius. This interpretation is flawless. BRILLIANT.
Does anyone but me notice the hanging man above the orchestra? Not one reactor has commented on it and I know I'm not seeing things! He is possibly hanging there from their rendition of "Hang 'em High". Please let me know if anyone else noticed this!
I love your whistling, Harri!!! 👍👍
Yeh Hank Marvin, played a strat (the guitar) too, has a certain sound too it, I can see why you made the connection (both the shadows and the player in this performance are using spring reverb which is a classic echo effect)
Wait a minute some of my dialogue I missed my renter he was a black man with American Indian roots and white roots and we got along really good together we spent a lot of time together
And I’m crying right now
Hey Harri - do you mean "The Shadows" which was the back band of Cliff Richard?
If so, you're right - they had this title "APACHE", which was very famous and yes, the similarities are probably right!
Ennio Morricone - RIP - was one of the greatest composers, not only of soundtracks to "Spaghetti Westerns". But especially these soundtracks are very famous.
I also get the “Apache-Vibe” from these western soundtracks. I think mr. Morricone was inspired by the sound. And I mean inspired - not copying.
Thank you so much Harri! My mind is blown! Love this!
Harri, Harri, Harri, I was watching the movie, and had a itch to see this amazing orchestra, saw you had reacted...
The rest is present. :) Gary, Gary, Gary
Thanks for the good music all time in 2021! May each day of the New Year
Bring happiness, good cheer
And sweet surprises…
To you and all your dear ones!
Happy New Year 2022!
I've seen so many reactions to this video that I've fallen in love with the conductor. Sarah.I know, it's sound creepy, but it is what it is
Hi Harri. I loved this creative rendition of the Good the Bad and the Ugly. Something else off the beaten path that I think would be well worth a reaction to is ' The Weight ' featuring Ringo Starr and Robbie Robertson - Playing for Change - Song Around The World. The Playing for Change Foundation, like yourself and me believe that no matter who you are or where you are from, we are all united though music. The Foundation is nonprofit and is dedicated to building music and art schools for children world wide. They also make awesome song covers, employing interesting instruments and musicians from all over the world. Cheers!
Love this movie... and song🖖🏻🇨🇦💥🥰
This is tha bomb..
Hi there...i love this piece and the movie...it's a part of history and have to say...you are the first reactor who actually noticed the conductor's little dance, which i think is unique because you are the first who actually payed attention to the music
ennio morricone and sergio leone were classmates at elementary schools in Rome. destiny had already decided. greetings from Italy.
Loved your review!!! and yeah you are correct in your .. ehm .. oh crap .. annalogy?? you know what i mean ,.,. could you more of classical music plz
If you enjoyed that piece, then I suggest you check out the main soundtrack from a movie called “The Mission” from the same composer, starring Jeremy Irons, and Robert DeNero. You will find that is a true masterpiece and will give you chills
I had only ever seen the Sergio Leone westerns on a regular TV, pan and scan, and was like, meh. And then, I saw them on a wide screen and, WOW! The medium really is the message, when it comes to this film. The theme song, is, of course, iconic, regardless of aspect ratio.
Professional musicians with professional signers........just doesnt get any better..
Harri
My renter died a month ago
He was a mixture of black/white/American Indian
And we would watch clint eastwood together...
So sweet my memory of him
He wss 67 Vietnamese war
I’m 66 a white guy kinda person...
Ha haha
We got along so good together I miss him so much
great choice tho i think that best version of the 2nd song is ennio's arrangement of the open air live concert in venice, italy conducting he himself
search: "L'estsi del'oro ennio morricone open air live in venice"
awesome music, solo vocals and choir
turn up the volume ;-)
The soprano is an original part of the song, just as Morricone wrote it. The Danish National Orchestra took no liberties.
This my ringtone on my mobile phone harry the women is goodlooking
Ennio Morricone genio Italia e nel mondo, irripetibile 🇮🇹🤠🌹🧡🧡🧡
i think some parts are like themes for specific characters in the movie
Let the Lady Conduct - she put all of his together. She does NOT think she's at the Disco. I get your comment, she bounces and I LOVE THAT! I also get that you were just trying to be funny 🙂
For a lighter version, here’s the ukulele one.

The spaghetti westerns were the best!
HANK MARVIN, SHADOWS!
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra get support from the State so this was to show its not for the elite (of cause the tickes still are) but it was shown in tv
the tickets are super cheap.
I have been watching the Orchestra 20-30 times and always in my everyday clothes - not for the "elite".
I've been working as a janitor and a garbageman - I'm not the elite and the tickets are super cheap.
That is the original music to the movie
Harri,
You are the definition of cool.
I want to drink a beer with you someday.😎
Light a doobie and listen to a hundred person symphony. Awesome!!!
😀😀😀

Watch the movie
I see your enjoyment of this, and it makes me hope you will listen to a solitary suggestion as well as those with many voices.
George Gershwin is one of America's greatest composers and really brought jazz into a special place. His "Rhapsody in Blue" is just so powerful and performed so beautifully here ruclips.net/video/0U-IXWaapx4/видео.html .Everybody should hear this!
Wondering how did you keep from crying?
Apache by the Shadows?
was that a little Wing Chun punch?
Your split screen does Not work, put yourself down in the lower corner. We can still watch your reaction and still see almost all of the orchestra!!!!!!
Peace Harri
Senti anche Giú la testa mission c'era una volta il west
Endo Marconi
Marvin
I highly recommend you do 2 Cellos, Game of Thrones. ruclips.net/video/DcFpvolRN3w/видео.html
You've watched The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 10 times. That's all?
Understatement time... Your curtains are very pink.
The original is better, only because they have the luxury of mixing and equalizing it in production. The soprano part in the original is a bit richer sounding, but again it's post production. This version is about as good as you can possibly get in a live performance. I'd love to hear this live, as it's genuinely a GREAT piece of music, aside from the movie. And without the music, the movie would just be a pretty good western, instead of the icon it is.
Have you actually seen the movie? This screams 'get me money'..
Clint Eastwood is the Ugly
I'll bet it's a great video. Too bad you will only let us see half of it. Thumbs down.
I think your comment about the conductor was inaccurate. In all the symphonies I was in, every motion and movement of the conductor was very planned and intentional. Each member of the symphony is guided by the conductor who must achieve the musical outcome desired. I thought her movements were spot on and that the orchestra followed her movements exactly as she planned resulting is how the music was intended to be performed and felt.
