He’s winning every map, every tournament, almost every MVP, has insane stats and is quite literally pioneering Counter-Strike into a new age.
And, no, we're not talking about s1mple.

I need more videos about Ropz. He is simply the best.
Him and faze took a huge gamble and won it from every side. They purposely ditched csgo very early and focused on cs2 back when the game is still in "at least playable" state, hence why they perform so poor on few last csgo tournaments. Props to them
Better than all the rest.
We all deal with the state of the game one way or another, and I think S1mple simply burnt out, and CS2 is the perfect excuse. When CS2 came out, S1mple held onto the hope that it would ignite something in him again as his performance at the last major in Paris was less than ideal (with them not even making it to knockout stages). But we all know the state of CS2 went, and S1mple needed a break because he couldn't take it anymore and he was pissed the devs asked him personally because it felt condescending.
Ropz on the other hand, still did somewhat poorly in CSGO's final major for his caliber, but still has something to prove. In CS2, he put in the time and effort to learn new lineups, get used to the game's ice skaty and janky feel and how the ticks register, just so that he can hit it off in CS2's new majors with a bang. He puts up with it more and he's reaping result. He is winning and is winning HEAVILY with Faze clan.
So I say that this comparison is the equivalent of comparing a very burnt out player that needs a break vs a player that is still on their high with something to prove. It's not fair on S1mple or Ropz as they both are responding to CS2 in different but valid ways. Just that Ropz responded more positively and has the wins and mvp to prove it. I will be waiting for the day S1mple returns, but right now, saying Ropz is the shit in CS2 is definitely valid and the stats back it up.
Amen. Couldn't have said it any better myself
throwing a public tantrum at valve and proclaiming that players should not play "this shitgame" for 3 months is not a valid at all. It's fuckin terrible; he's an ambassador of the game and people look up to him, but he continues to act like a child. If anything, these two players show us the difference between professionals and kids with big paychecks. Go get 'em ropz
@@goodknightunited5918 stop releasing UNFINISHED games. Valve hyped it up so much, and then they really shit the bed. And you can't forget that playing CS is his job, if your job suddenly turns into a pile of steaming garbage, you would be pretty pissed too i reckon. S1mple has all the right to voice his opinion even if it's a negative one.
@@kyli001 if your job turns into steaming pile of shit, you talk to management and tell them its shit and how they can make it better again. Not just throw a tantrum at them when they are asking - hey I know the job turned into steaming pile of shit recently, but given how much influence you have over other employees and being their voice of reason, can you help us make better?
Whilst I agree that the issues have been outcried by community on reddit, twitter and any other available place, most are done after saying 'the game is shit', 'bring 64/128 tick back', 'bring csgo back', 'subtick doesn't work' etc. Filtering through them to find actual criticism of what may or may not be going wrong is quite tedious. Being a professional player means you spend shit ton of time in game mastering your craft and have better knowledge of mechanics than majority of the community. They can act as someone who can filter redundant criticisms and give something meaningful for valve to work on. Also kind of give valve, an approximate pecking order of problems to resolve. That way main issues are resolved first.
I agree that he has right to vent his criticism and frustration but it could've been handled better. But hey we all have bad days and my guess is that s1mple was quite tilted that day and then saw the message from valve. I hope he realizes this and helps in a constructive way in future. I want cs2 to succeed and not make us miss csgo
took the sentences right from my mind. real and true
ZywOo, dev1ce and ropz - they represent the peak of intelligent CS.
Clean, smooth, consistent. No flashy flick bs, just great crosshair placement and positioning.
Honorable mention to Coldzera, he was ahead of his time.
yeah, I've been observing this for years with s1mple, he's a great player, no doubt. . but sometimes he tend to go for flashy plays, for the highlights..
I agree, if you actually wanna learn how to play better you should watch these 3, they are playing textbook genius cs.
Been learning from Ropz since he joined mouz :P
@@PrivateJoker0119 s1mple actually has really good crosshair placement and positioning
He goes for flashy plays because he can and because he had to for a long time.
Fallen is another; he just does good utility and positioning for easy awp picks. When I play I just play weird off angles and let enemies have to take awkward gun fights and take advantage of it for easy kills and reducing chance of getting hit to much and it works. Can get you almost every game 20+ kills by just doing that.
You forgot Chelo
The loop at 6:32 made me think I must have tapped on the keyboard and rewinded by accident lol
Same!!
This is why Ropz is my favorite native res player
Yeah the goat
The only dude that proves you can be good without 4:3
hsahahaha he literally played 4:3 whole career. only 2-3months native now... smh

I watched Ropz since the first day on beta training his movements, lineups and gamesense in cs2. In fact whenever i came from work and played some csgo when cs2 was in beta, i always saw a vid in youtube of ropz finding something in cs2 that day or week lol. He's been working it since day one in the beta.
Vid starts at 1:20
that bit about simple is spot on. love your coverage man. as an old fk who would have never imagined theScore to cover esports, im stoked we have someone as dialed in as you. respects homie.
ropz and faze did what others didn't, played and mastered the game than yapping.
Ropz is a sigma people tries to complaining about it, ropz just being silence and improving himself
Hardwork, determination, resilience, skillz, gamesense, keen, humble and chill = Ropz. If only S1mple like that too
Thank god p1mple is gone, the scene is so much better now.
Ropz been the goat over s1mple since his ms days. He's a student of the game and studies and strategizes on his own. Superb mechanics and gamesense.
S1mple can shoot awp good
I think the reason why people were shitting on simple is because of the voice he has in terms of being a professional player that a Valve dev team will listen to. I understand that there are many other voices in the community but none are greater than those who are professional at this game. For the community to push feedbacks, they would have to make a post about the bug, then wait for that post to go viral and hopefully get recognition from the dev team, or then wait for a strong voice in the professional league to tweet about it or post their own understanding of the bug to get it fixed. I would think its pretty damn hard for the dev team to look at every email sent by the community since some of them could've been outdated bugs, bugs already in the works of fixing, or bugs that are difficult to replicate. Hence why I think the devs will listen to the professional players since they can make posts viral and well known in the community.
one another thing is that the pros are usually more responsible for what they are saying. They have better PCs, better internet and system optimization of the game and they spend hours per day playing it. So opinions from pros tend to be more precise and responsible towards the game and it's quite understandable valve chooses to reach them first.
@@limb0reedtz614The valve devs have literally done patches where they change nothing in regards to gameplay and the community thinks they improved the game. Why should the devs listen to a community like that lmao.
ropz not being a fan of cs2 and still out performing should say something.
6:33, 6:45
hehe same clip twice
great video though, i absolutely agree with your defense of s1mple
Everyone is doing their best.
Valve are doing their best.
They asked for constructive criticism.
He refused...
I was mad at first...
But simultaneously he is saying why listen to him? He is being humble. Why does he need to point out the obvious.
Listen to the community... why do they need him to tell them the problem?
Because pros notice and know things regular players don't. He was also crying the most which makes his refusal to communicate kinda weird
Dude Simple is anything but humble :D
Because community will often regurgitate nonsense just to shit on the game and spread unverified "facts" some 15 year old posted to reddit. Pros can offer constructive criticism coming from a position of being the best of the best at CS and not being some 3000 elo Timmy who will now blame his every mistake on subtick.
@@a.k2156 nah bro got humbled by woro nd sdy.
Made them look like a t3 team. Deserved. 🤡
S1mple: "I have problems with CS2"
Valve: "What are your problems with CS2?"
S1mple: *no reply*
Its because according to him its pretty obvious. He dont need to say it anymore, valve should just read people on social media.
I honestly think when Valve asked Simple about the issues, they were curious about how he'd prioritize the issues and wanted to understand what the pro scene would need fixed asap. They surely could've comunicated that differently, but leaving them "on read" is more offensive than their question IMO.
The problem with saying 'just listen to the community' is that communities often can't be trusted when it comes to opinions on things like features and game balance. Many devs on multiplayer games have talked about how they, at some stage, had to stop listening to the communities requests because they often either wrong or there's a better solution than what they want.
Valve themselves have admitted that they are very cautious about their updates to CS2 so far - that they don't even know if what they're doing is the right thing most of the time.
Asking professional players that they can trust for advice on changes makes sense.
I genuinely think that everyone's doing their best for the most part, so s1mple's attitude rubs me the wrong way.
Nah, some problems were & still are too big (MJ peek, hitreg issues), even the community can point it out.
Sure when the game will be polished (if it is someday) but we are faaar from it right now.
@@alexalexdu37390 with all due respect... duh. They obviously weren't asking s1mple whether they should fix MJ peek, insane peekers advantage, rapid-fire bug, etc. They wanted precise feedback on things like movement, shooting, economy, visuals, and things like player shadows and how that affects map strategy in certain positions. Things along those lines. They weren't saying 's1mple, we don't know what's wrong with the game, please tell us how to fix it'
They were opening a line of communication with him to offer direct input on finer details.
@@elkklemusic2895 That's just not how it work. It's like you are building a house, & you want to decorate it before there's even a roof.
First fix big problems, then when big problems fixed, fix the details, not the other way around, that's why it's dissrespectful to ask in the first place.
Ropz is a true professional, great respect for him
ropz is practicing , while s1mple complaining bout the game , thats what makes ropz the best LMAOO
s1mple doing what he did for the community is huge copium lmao, you could argue that the result of it would be better for the community but saying it was all intended is massive copium.
i enjoy simple i always have but ropz is who i try to play like always will. he is just a really good overall player and i love his playstyle.
i learned a lot abt positioning around cover and minimizing the number of angles i’m exposed to from watching his pov
I swear Simple could beat a puppy to death with a kitten and this guy would defend him
you're soft, simple doesn't need to be the voice of all CS2 players
For all the issues what Simple is doing now is throwing toys out of the pram because he is struggling with the new game compared to his peers. Ropz is the example of what you can do if you apply yourself instead of being an arrogant twat @@TheZiZaZo
Are you going to ignore what I said? Great response 10/10. Let me reiterate, he doesn't need to be the voice of all of CS2. He's also standing up for everyone by saying you should listen to community feedback instead of just me... And I never said that Ropz isn't giving good feedback. Sounds like you got a crush@@nobbytime3819
Lol S1mple is right, if Valve choose to ignore to hear CS community then it is okay? The whole community was speaking their minds and it doesn't need to take a pro just to point those issue. That's why people left CS for cartoon FPS just for a fact that Valve doesn't care on its own community.

That zywoo dig was a reference to the maui tweet from a while ago complaining about zywoos lack of identity in his gameplay (despite having an identity in his gameplay)
"Where ZywOo continues to play catch-up is the sore lack of cultural impact via trademark playstyle."
Ropz just living and breathing this game
Ropz is the most dedicated player right now, and he deserves these victories
Ropz complained about the game, but stayed professional. He theorycrafted, sent any issues to Valve, and is now the best player in the #1 CS2 team. S1mple? He deemed the game as unplayable, acted like a pre-teen when Valve asked for his issues with the game and bounced on his team.
ropz isn't a primadonna. s1mple is. That's the difference.

Fix the cheating issue. Your casual players are your top priority. If most of the players leave because of the cheaters, no one will be there to watch the pros, no matter how much you fix the hit reg/subtick or whatever. Casuals are, whether you like it or not, the backbone of any game, and cheating is ruining it for everyone. After that, get on the subtick problem, and for the love of god, fix the skins so that everyone who opened or bought them, can enjoy them. Skins make your whole company run, apart from the Steam platform. I know I am not The GOAT, but this is coming from someone who played since 2002, over 10k hours in 1.6, and over 3k hours in csgo/2, an ESL regional admin, and a guy who loves... LOVES Counter Strike, and its community!
No Esport but Valorant and Apex have prioritized casual player base. Valve EXCLUSIVELY only values feedback from pros. It's been like this forever. It's really unfortunate. Valve fucks around so much cause CS is only a money farm, Dota 2 is their love child. They don't care about shit. I agree casual players make the backbone, but for Valve, they just don't care. Never once was any major update attributed to the casual players
Just play faceit, people still crying about cheaters 10 years later
And if you dont play competetively, you are most likely not meeting cheaters in your bot casual elo. Its called a skill issue
@@aok9153 Clearly you misunderstood my point.
@@aok9153you just told a guy who has 20 years of cs experience and over 13k hrs that he has a skill issue 😂😂😂. You would probably be answering the same way if a T1 pro complained the same way, just delusional and full of disrespect.
To everyone saying they should have just listened to the community, just watch the valve dev at the conference talking about patches and community reactions. They have done patches with ZERO gameplay changes and the community placebos themselves into thinking they fixed the game. Why should they take a community like that seriously. It makes sense why they contacted s1mple.
A simple survey before the game starts is a good way to take in information
that merch ad was great
S1mple acted as a child. He had an opportunity, no matter how small, to communicate with Valve and threw it away
Well, for Valve to ask "what are the issues?", when the game is full of issues, is equally as childish. Sounds like "yo, we don't see any issues, tf are you talking about, what is your problem". If they asked him something specific and explained that they'd like to hear his own feedback because they appreciate it, I bet s1mple would've answered. Ofc I don't know the exact words, but if it is how s1mple explained it, that was quite unprofessional. He just uno reversed them.
@@python3xThey we’re very clearly asking him to help them iron out the priorities and what feels good and what doesn’t. He had the opportunity to bridge the gap between Valve and the community as someone that is respected by both sides, and he decide to pull the covers over his head and cry about it. I love Simple but he abandoned the game that made him.
The game that made him lol, he made the game his
@@python3xwhat? Not at all lol. Simple is the professional, yeah valve makes the game and the tweaks, but they obviously need good feedback and they can’t get that from looking at people bitching on Twitter.
@@python3xalso they never said “we don’t see any issues” lol, they clearly know stuff is wrong.
So Ropz is basically Cristiano Ronaldo in CS2 xD
What Tickrate experiment are they referring to at 2:30?
A wise man once said, adapt or get left behind
its not about adapting its all about wanting or not wanting to go serious
@@4corndog Not wanting to go serious means crying about it and not saying anything meaningful?
But the problem is this cs will again change in future because it has tons of bugs and issues with hit and peek advantage, saying just get used to it is such a dumb take I ever heard.
From a developer pov, contacting the actual god-tier makes sense because you expect them to notice the most minute details and convey them professionally (as they are pros) where reddit etc is just noise. They might say the same thing, but a lot of the times things gets said and repeated by people that have less understanding. I mean they got the tapes and the numbers of how many people report cheaters and they know how many are actual cheaters.
I saw someone claim that the game will cause a 4090 to lag if there are 3 smokes on a bombsite. The CS community is filled with idiots, or did you guys forget about the cl_interp ratio debacle? S1mple could have gotten his major gripes fixed but did nothing. Ropz is the GOAT of CS2 and is actually standing up for the community, providing valuable feedback that will make the game better
I have a 4090
Fps falls to 150-180 at 1080p (all maxed out) on ancient T spawn tunnel on right, which i guess is due to some water and lighting effects
There are a few more situations where frames drop for no reason. On average i get 350-400 fps
@goochipoochie I should specify that the comment I saw claimed the fps dropped to like 30 haha. But really interesting findings! Since that area of ancient isn't really a place where you do a lot of combat, I don't think Valve will optimize it any more than necessary. Unless they do more general fixes for water
Honestly agree with ya about simple. Wasn’t his responsibility to go back and forth with valve. They know the issues. They’re blatant and everywhere. They need to fix stuff themselves and speak on knowing their shit is busted. Simple’s response was def based. You can’t see the issue let the game die then and we’ll all cry over it’s grave. If the community was in charge of development it wouldn’t be broke. Plain and simple. Warranted and justified response from someone in his position and honestly what ropz did is indicative of his current position as well. They both responded appropriately imo.
4:25 I think s1mple missed the mark here. Valve most likely is taking in the online feedback but also wants to listen to the people whose livelihood depends on the game.
I only just figured out how to make my game smooth...so dumb. Most people won't know how to fix. Nvidias control panel setting Low Latency had to be disabled for me or lag my game over 400fps. Reflex On, Latency Off. And most ppl don't even know what nvidia control panel is
Valve does read the forums though. So the feedback from professionals who play more than people posting on forums is probably invaluable for the devs
i dont like s0mple but it was super based not to answer valves henchmen. he is right as well, he got nothing to say to them, they know the facts already. they just wanna pet their doggo
Finally not a comment simping volvo
It’s fun making s0mple fans mad
Goat dont complain whatever he is in a department, change is and will always be there
There's an issue with editing of this video guys! A clip is repeated.
Valve should've contacted Monesy.. he'd have a career in both the field as a game tester and E-Sports Tournament players.
dont speak on the goat to light
Simple is crying like a baby... Ropz and many other Pro's, like Snappi, say it right "The game isn't that good... YET, but as Pro's we have to deal with it" and thats 100% professionel. BTW Karrigan say that as CS:GO came out, he want to retired, because the game was trash and that CS2 is better that cs:go at the beginning. I realy don't know how many hours Ropz has in CS2, but damit he sit on the pc since CS2 came out and learn and understanding that game. Now the real GOAT shows up, the man that can shift about CS:GO to CS2. I hope you get my point, because english is not my nativ language. Peace✌🤘
I was, long ago, onboard the "Ropz cheats" train. However, now, even if he does/did cheat, he's still so far beyond every other pro (even the possible cheaters) that he has ascended. If he has or does use cheats he's learned enough that he can turn them off and still be god-like.
I'm a Faze fanboy (CS only) but always kept my eye on Ropz. He looks much more legit today, and possibly the GOAT of CS.
Can’t decide if S1mple’s actions were warranted or justified

Great video as always, waiting for next upload :P
immediately went to the comments to see if someone had this timestamp, commenting to boost
The part that makes people angry is that Valve finally tried to communicate for once and ended up getting ignored.
Valve have tried communicating a bit lately and every single time the community does their very best to completely misreprent what is being said. It's honestly embarrassing as a cs player that these are the loudest voices we have
That's one way of putting it lol. Surely, they will find all issues if they would communicate to all
@@zenn2237 public communication at that scale simply turns into incoherent noise

I have a principle with me: Don't treat others the way you don't want to be treated. S1mple could've just told them to look throughout the internet and called it a day. Not replying and just making a public disclosure is at least unkind.
But I do understand that some players are techies such as Ropz, M0nesy, etc. Other are just mechanically trained and gifted such as S1mple, Zywoo etc. They contribute in different ways but being respectful and polite applies to everyone.
To close this reflection I'd guess that S1mple is going through some personal issues and unleashing his frustration on Valve was just a side effect.

@PrivateJoker0119 if valve needs s1mple to say what the community and other pros are saying they obviously aren't giving enough effort towards communication
I mean, I enjoy CS2. Not all of us hate the game, complaining about minute things. Some of us, it doesn’t matter. Some of us never played anything other than MM in CS:GO, some of us are newer to the game and appreciate the upgrades that CS2 have to GO.
I was reading thru the comments saying simple rages when valve tried to reach him but, when simple explained it actually made sense. Esport games only care when big time players are the ones who complained and wont listen to the community unless it goes viral or something
Let me explain something to you.
There's absolutely no way they'll see Mr 7 follower account on twitter, posting about something they found
They aren't omnipotent, they can't see everything.
Here's what I would have wanted from that interaction with S1mple.
Hey what's the issue, Ohh that alright cool there will be changes to that next update tell us if it's better or worse.
Instead he left them on read and we have a worse game for it.
Ropz is the GOAT! Love him since years, our lil valve employee :D
A video about Ropz < ranting about S1mple for majority of the time? Come on dude. Did you even try?
Valve is listening to everyone too, but always and always for CS the opinions of the pros matter. Because CS2 is catered towards going pro and competitive gameplay, there's no "casual" 5v5 in a sense that Valve will never prefer it to competitive CS2, the 'average' person's opinion of CS2 will always be below the pros, because they understand the game way more than we ever will.
Also, s1mple could've just said: "Hey, this is what's wrong in CS2 according to me, but you should also listen to everyone else." in which Valve would reply: "Yeah, no shit, you're not the only going to play the game." S1mple was just being an asshole for no good reason.
all s1mple want is bring back csgo movement 💀
Valve is silent but when s1mple said game is shit then valve answer 😅
6:35 EDITING MISTAKE!
Ropz, the god of 1080p 60hz
No way he’s playing on 60hz
At the end of the day, valve fucked up with the CS2 release. I won’t give them credit for moving in the right direction, the game should have been in a better state at launch. Devs have gotten far too comfortable releasing shit and taking credit for putting it right after the fact.
Getting pissed at simple or anybody else for not directly working with valve to fix their own mess is ridiculous. Valve fucked up, it’s not any popular players job to put it right.
Ropz is that kind of technically minded player that would always get into the details, regardless of the state of the game. Good for him putting in the work, but if you’re job is to play the game, you can’t be blamed for not taking on the collective responsibility for the whole community and tell valve how to fix their own game.
0:15 lip reading something funny
Good cop , bad cop strategy and it worked.
Reading comments proves how sheepish and cowering before Valve the CS community is, defending it from S1mple. Nothing like Siege, where people had realized what Ubisoft is all about and stopped being civil, just crushing content creators like GetFlanked who bent over. Guess that's what wanting to play de_dust2 every day for 20+ years does to your brain.
from my point of view, simples approach was understandable and besides that, simples proach was also understandable!
But if they listen to all of us then the game would just go back to csgo but if you give a competitive game to its one of the best players they can give actual feedback instead of crying about ticks and stuff and tbh twitter is just a platform where grown men cry out there frustration like they lose a game then complain that cs2 is trash atleast get used to the game first pike csgo in its early days was trash many pro player said they wouldn’t compete on the game but as you see the result this how it should be give experienced and best players chamce to give feedback so you can improve the game otherwise if they take in all the complaints about the game from twitter they might as well just stop the process of making it better
Culture difference you Americans don’t understand where Simple comes from it’s not about him fixing the game and it’s the fact that the community has all the answers not just one person it’s him saying ask the community not a single player cuz all the changes made will fall on him and if it makes the game worse it could cause him to become the enemy of the community. Smart man for what he did
Its a silly conversation. Game hasnt been played long enough to determine who the best is.
