Steel should never be unbanned, no amount of amends will fix the fact that he knew what he was doing, and intentionally threw lots of matches, like that one match on nuke where he streamed with no delay, and had that huge grin on his face when he lost, or so many others. Wasn't just against NCG, there were many more.

back then, the entire internet had a massive and recurring ddosing problem. servers would routinely get hit by an exploit that allowed people to send multiple gb/s worth of packets. it wasn't just csgo, it extended to many online websites and services. in the case of ibp, this match was already supposed to have been played weeks before they came back from a lan where they lost to vp. but because there was so much ddosing, it actually delayed it so much that they just decided to throw it and bet on themselves, thinking that they had enough matches won to make it to the cevo lan anyway. well, turns out they actually tried to humiliate richard lewis who was covering the matchfix, and what would have been either no punishment or a league specific punishment by esea/cevo turned into a ban from valve.

They were just broke kids, trying to get some money knowing full well that even if they won they wouldn't win that much. Not saying it's ok that they went for it, but it is human and understandable, and won't be happening now that eSports has a bigger budget.
I'm also a firm believer that Brax should be unbanned too, can't blame a kid for a decision made by the entire roster, even if he, or anyone else, didn't want to throw - they'd still just have to look at their team throwing while knowing full well they won't get anything out of this, not even a chance at a win.

No way Dimitri just said that forsaken using cheats is somehow more "scummy" than meticulously planning to fix games and throw them to scam people out of their money and committing an ACTUAL CRIME. What amends has he made? Did he reimburse the people who lost their money on their bets? Dimitri tries to whitewash and play down the severity by calling it a "mishap" but wouldn't extend the same empathy to forsaken.
It's videos like these that theScore esports shows it (racial) bias where they will endlessly make multiple videos to bash forsaken but give others a pass and make dumb rationalizations. Unlike steel, forsaken bowed out of esports scene completely. He did not cry and beg to be unbanned. He did not switch to Valorant. He did not have community support or hired by other teams or TOs as caster. He was fully condemned and rightly so because he ruined the careers of his teammates too. But somehow steel has made "amends". Whatever that means. I swear the standards for scrutiny are different for non-white players.

Nah man matchfixing completely undermines the idea of watching a competitive esport. Steele "deserves" nothing but a ban. His unban only further damages CS's reputation.
