- Y’all I am absolutely loving this Epson F170! I was so hesitant about jumping on the sublimation train but this printer has made it so incredibly easy.
The guys at Makerflo have also been super great to reach out to me and make sure that everything is good and that I am happy! I highly recommend purchasing your sublimation printer through them. I have an affiliate link if you’re interested! I also purchase a Glitter and Tumblers through them as well.

I also mentioned my Tumbler press. I really am loving it as well and I’m super pleased with it. Here’s the affiliate link I mentioned for that too.

So excited you're into sublimation now! I started a few months ago and am loving it. I especially like your torn edges! 😍 Look forward to seeing many more of your projects.
Thank you so much!
Those are absolutely beautiful 😍 I love love sublimation. Glad you’re enjoying it 😊 stay blessed love 🥰
Thank you! Yes… it’s so fun!
Oh my wow! You are rockin’ it!! Those are beautiful! I wish I waited to covert an Epson I bought. It’s fine but I should have waited to see what you were going to get! Now I need to get your tumbler press!!
I’m sure yours is wonderful!
Yes… you sure do! I’m loving it!
Your tumblers look awesome! Thanks so much for the review!😊
Thanks!!
You make things so easy.
Love love love them and your videos of the farm well done mate ❤
Thank you so much Bridget!
They look amazing!!! Love the flower one. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!
I have a Sawgrass 800 right now and has really been a workhorse for me. Does this Epson F170 need to stay on or can you turn it off without the ink and ink lines clogging???
I don’t usually turn it off, but after about two weeks of not using it, I did notice that it took a couple of prints for the colors to get back in order. But other than that, no issues!
@@karenbaskettdiyer Thank you.
I received my F170 about 2 weeks ago. I am so happy with the printer performance. I am also new to sublimation and really enjoy seeing how the items turn out
Great to hear!
My colors aren’t coming out that vibrant from the printer😢What am I doing wrong. Do you have a step by step for a beginner like me
HEY HEY!!! The only thing holding me back from getting this was the fact the dimensions didn't work for tumblers! Can you share more on how you were getting this to work?
Sure! Hopefully I can make this make sense… lol . So basically I upload my design like say from Creative Fabrica into Cricut Designspace. I then make sure my canvas is at 100%, make sure my grid lines are removed and then I unlock and size the image to 9.25 x 8. I take a screenshot (I’m on a desktop Mac if that matters) then I open my screenshot and crop it and then hit control p to print. I have my printer set to “scale to fit” and “print entire image.” Sometimes I have to tweak it a little bit but for the most part it comes out the perfect size for a 20 ounce skinny. I hope that all makes sense and it’s helpful for you.
Could you make a video of how you do this. I seen that the Tumbler print on other videos is bigger than my Epson F170 can print. I thought the skinny tumblers were 8.6 x 9.6. The epson 170 only prints 8.5 by 11. @@karenbaskettdiyer
Thanks for the video! My converted Epson I think might be toast as I went too long without using it. Ran a few deep cleans (which only after they were run I find out it shortens the life of your printer even more! 😮) Does this specific printer have a "purge tank" I think it's called? Where it constantly runs ink through even if you don't print for a long time? That was my issue, I should have been printing at least once a week. Hobbyist and busy planning/prepping a grad party so printing wasn't a priority! Now I have to try a manual deep clean, which I'm dreading that potential mess! Creative Fabrica and Design Bundles have some pretty amazing designs! Yours turned out amazing! No surprise there though! 😁
Oh no… that’s such a bummer! I hope you get yours up and running again. I know they aren’t cheap.
I’m not sure about a purge tank. I’ll have to check.
Thank you btw!
thank u..❤
is it contains a scanner?
No it does not.
Wow thank you for this! Im a new subscriber!! If i may ask two things:
1. How were you able to work out tumbler dimensions?
2. Do they also have warranty?
Glad it was helpful!
I usually open my downloads and print. I figured out that *most of the time my downloads turn out right about 9.25 x 8 for a 20oz skinny. Or upload them in to Cricut design space and size them there … remove grid background in settings.
Great video! Have a ? What if you go on vacation for a couple of weeks and not using printer. I was told u have to use it at least once a week? What do you do??
Thanks so much! I have never had any issues. I’ve left mine for several weeks at a time and have had great success each time I’ve printed when I returned. The only time I did encounter a problem was whenever I used DTF film and my printer. But that’s a whole nother video lol.
I’ve been looking at the same printer. What type of cup press did you get? Also, I highly recommend you get an air purifier. I also put a cheap box fan in the window where it pulls out the smell. The gases that come off the cup isn’t healthy. Can’t wait to see more cups☺️☺️
Good info Debbie. I will certainly be doing that! Thanks so much!
What kind of maintenance do you do? In a converted Epson EcoTank printer, you are supposed to run it once a week; otherwise there may be a ink clog. Does the Epson F170 require that weekly maintenance or is it just plug and play with no weekly requirement to run it weekly?
To be honest, it has been sitting untouched for about a month now because we had a life altering event happen and our family. I need to fire it back up and see how it runs soon. This is the longest it has gone unused. Before this, it has gone unused for about two weeks at a time and works just fine. 😊
Whats the size to print though
Just got the same printer for my birthday! I can’t wait to start using it. May I ask what size are you making the design?
It's so much fun and super easy to use! For 20oz skinny...9.25x8
Can Hippo sublimation ink be used in the Epson F150? Love your content, very informative!
HI! I honestly don't know the answer to that ... sorry. :/ As of now.... my plan is to replenish mine with Epson ink. I can check into it and let you know what I find out though. Thanks so much for watching and I'm glad you found it informative! :)
I received my F 170 .. I bought it from makerflo as well but I’m having a hard time printing from canva any tutorials I have a Lenovo windows laptop
Yikes, I’m sorry to say I have no experience with any of those programs
Looks beautiful and less complicated than other sublimation methods. Thanks for the video. I’d like to use your link to get one but still need some more tutorials to cover the tumbler press and whether or not it has to be finished afterwards, or is it a one and done?
It's literally one and done! LOVING it so much!!!! I'd greatly appreciate you using my link if you purchase :)
So that was sublimation ink? I'm just use to seeing it say it on the bottle.
Yes.. that’s the nice thing about it.. this is a true Sublimation printer. No converting required. The ink comes with the printer. 😊
Hi , Ty for the video I’m looking to do sublimation and dtf would this printer work with dtf transfers and powder?
Hi there! Yes… in fact I’ve got a couple of videos out on DTF. I’d love for you to check them out!
is this waterproof as well? they look stunning!♥
Yes
I have this one! Idk if this is a dumb question but can I use it with sticker paper to make stickers?
It isn't a dumb question. You can make sticker but you have to print them out and then sublimate them on to the sticker paper. You can't print directly on to the sticker paper.
I’ve never made stickers but I’m pretty certain you need to use a regular printer and regular ink for stickers.
@kodegyrl that's exactly what I was thinking, thank you! :)
Thank u for the video
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Hi. I’m have trouble centering my images. The image is printing to low from the top. Even if I have it centered on my computer
Hummm… I’m not exactly sure how to help you with that. If the whole image is printing the you could always just trim your paper. But if it’s cutting off part of your image then I’m not certain about n how to get it centered up.
If you figure it out plz let me know, im having that same issue
Buying from your link!
Thank you SO MUCH!!! I greatly appreciate that!
have you had dithering issues with this printer? I can't get rid of these dots on any prints. Using Mac/Affinity and epson rigid
I had dotted lines for a few prints but it’s gone away now. I didn’t really do anything to fix it. They weren’t bad enough to address and I wasn’t sure what to do anyways. Where did you purchase it from? If Makerflo you should reach out to them for help. They seem to be super great!
@@karenbaskettdiyer Oh ok. I'm trying to resolve but can't for the life of me get rid of these dots. This lady recommended changing some settings since I'm using a mac so I'll try again today. I didn't buy from makerflo, I bought from All American Print (I emailed them recently). I might try to get a replacement. Thanks for the reply!
Where do you get the ink from i cannot find it!!
Makerflo… bit.ly/3TmnH74 😊
Did you print from design space?
I got my floral wrap from Creative Fabrica. So once I download it, I just opened it on my computer and printed it. The words “Stay Beautiful”I did print from Cricut design space.
@@karenbaskettdiyer thank you.
@crafdnonna6027 no problem!
Hi do i need to buy epson sub paper or A sub paper. Please advise
I’ve only ever used a HTVRont, sublimation paper, and my tumblers are turning out extremely well! In fact I just received an order today. This is exactly what I buy. amzn.to/47vGul2
Does this go through a lot of ink?
I can't completely answer that just yet. I mean I've printed around 3 full tumbler wraps and my ink levels are at about 95% still so it's hard to answer.
What size paper is one able to use
I’ve never really checked into it until you just ask. I’ve only ever printed 8 1/2 x 11 but I just found this online…. Max. Paper Size 8.5" x 47.2"
Paper Sizes 3.5" x 5", 4" x 6", 5" x 7", 8" x 10", 8.5" x 11", 8.5" x 14", A4, A6, half letter, executive, user definable (3.5" - 47.2" in length)
Can you make T shirts too?
Yes! Just change to “textile“ in printer settings!
