This movie is a proof how good of an actor Tom Hardy is
Every movie he's in is proof of how amazing he is. Truly one of the greats.
He uses the same vocal mannerisms and accents all the time. Close ur eyes, Ronald Kray and Alfie Solomon, Baine (in a coffee can) are the same voice..

Yes, Chazz plays Sicilian-American mobster and Lansky associate, Angelo Bruno Angelo who was Philadelphia crime family boss for two decades until his assassination. Bruno was known as "the Gentle Don" due to his preference for conciliation over violence, in stark contrast to his successors.
Chazz Palminteri is superb in everything I've seen him in. Tremendously talented actor.

I actually met and spoke with Ronnie Kray in the most strangest of circumstances.
I was a telephone engineer for BT in Berkshire and part of a team that worked in Broadmoor in the early 90s.
We were renewing cabling in the roof space on the wing where he was housed. On one occasion we came down into the corridor with our escort as he was being escorted back to his cell room. We were briefed how to react if a patient spoke to us which indeed he did. My workmate and I sort of froze for a moment when he said "I like you 2 boys. Have you come to fit a telephone in my room?"
I said "No, not today Mr Kray" and he replied, "Oh that's a shame, I've only been waiting 20 years for one."

This scene was brilliant in so many ways. The meeting starts tense, Chazz tries to break the ice, coming off as straight & non pretentious, Reggie not so convinced, Ronnie menacing with no idea they own Vegas. Chazz makes the offer, Reggie plays a little tough, but not too much. And the scene at the end, you got some balls to say that kid, "Salut". Perfect direction. Hardy & Chazz deliver perfectly

@@listentothenightfilmsI doubt it. The mafia were never a heavy presence in London. You can’t just fly in, take out one of the most notorious gangsters in the east end and leave. They would have got people here to do it, but the Krays controlled so much and were so dangerous no one would have done it. So the scene is pretty accurate. They needed the Krays to muscle for them.
The facial expressions from 3:23 to the end is peak acting skills. Absolutely amazing.

Why be so dismisve. It is a well established fact that Ron Kray had a very intimidating personality and there are multiple photographs of JoeLouis. and the Krays together. So unless you have knowledge to the contrary, why is the story not plausible.

Ronnie Kray was 5'7" and 145LBs, so there's nothing intimidating about his size or stature, particularly if you're comparing him to a world heavyweight boxing champion, who was 6'2" tall and 215LBs. If anything, the Krays were most likely in awe of Joe Louis' presence.

Another great scene. I saw Chaz do "Bronx Tale" live as a one man show. He absolutely crushed it, effortlessly.
Chazz is very smooth here. Really, the glide between emotions and raw business is seamless.
Hardy's Ronnie in this movie was chilling, the menace is palpable. Hardy was excellent as both brothers, but his Ronnie gives me the fricking heebies.

Palminteri's not a boss here. He's an underboss or (at best) a Consigliere acting on behalf of Meyer Lansky, who wasn't a boss within the Mafia, but rather the "Mob's Accountant."

Funny wen Ron says "we own a casino", & then the mob guy says "you own a casino well we own Las Vegas" that showed the mob were on another level to the krays.
The mob was huge in numbers and families. The kray brothers ran London and majority of northern towns in and out of prison.

He respected them and even bragged about them, stating their ruthlessness put a lot of his crew to shame. He also admired how they had their neighbourhood esteeming them. He was the one who told the brothers 'never get your own hands red', but Ronnie wasn't going to be told what to do by some 'movie gangsters from America', totally oblivious to how powerful Bruno actually was.
Stunt casting rarely works, but it did in this underrated crime picture. Tom Hardy was superb playing the two Kray brothers.

Not many movies I would bother to see more than once, but this is surely one to see several times because of the nuances Hardy projects are absolutely phenomenal.

Bruno did what any smart mobster would do. Attempt to diffuse the tension with Ronnie as much possible and later on have a friendly chat with the less psycho brother about the ‘little problem’ and whether he was willing to ‘handle’ it for the sake of business, like they did with Crazy Joe Gallo.
Mafia is all smiles and sweet talk but the look Bruno gives Reggie at the end says it all…

There's a good reason the movie is called 'Legend'.
In reality, the Krays were given a small, regular payoff by the Mob.
They were turned away at the door from their clubs, because they were seen as bad for business, and a bit of an embarrassment.
That look at the end says, this guy is crazy and very dangerous.
