- We didn't have thousands of dollars to spare, so we did it ourselves and IT LOOKS AMAZING! We search the internet to find out how the professionals install an industrial grade epoxy floor. Don't settle for the cheap DIY Epoxy Garage Floor kits you get at Home Depot or Lowes. Get something that makes you fall in love with you garage!
What we used...
Legacy Industrial Full Flake Garage Kit (link below)

We also needed to fill some of the smaller holes in the garage floor prior to pouring the epoxy! For that we used this:

The color flake that we went with was COLD WATER CANYON and we are very happy with our decision.
Prep is always the most important part of whatever job you do. Kudos on the job!
Great point!
Bang up used to mean "good". Then during college many years again, people started using it to mean bad. Now I think it means good again.😂
Wow! You two did a great job!! Appreciate you mentioning our product!! And for those that are less ambitious or want to spend a bit less, we have other options to investigate. Of course, the Nohr-S® Full Flake Kit is the best!!
Like your product, do you service in California Riverside county area?
I was totally excited to replicate this same project but noticed the price of the kit has increased more than 20% in less than a year. What happened?
@@jeremystabile4758 the same thing that has happened across the country. Inflation.
You guys did a bang up job!! My interpretation of that phrase means a “Good Job”
LOOKS FABULOUS! Thanks for the INFO...BTW a bang-up job is a GOOD thing. And you certainly did a bang-up job! At first, I thought well this will be boring BUT after I started watching I couldn't tear myself way!
Great video ! Team work at its finest. I might take this project on now as well. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you, buddy!
$4K, didn't realize it was that expensive, looks great!
Great job guys! I've installed several of those floors and you looked like professionals.
Thank you buddy! That means a lot coming from you. =D You'll have to make a trip out here to inspect it yourself! And fly of course.
This entire video is an "Oddly Satisfying Compilation" display of OCD.
Seriously looks great 👌
I actually do this full time and found this video very entertaining! Solid Job
Wow! Thank you. Coming from you, that means a lot. 😁
That was a heck of a lot of work!
It sure was! Haha.
Replace bang-up with Awesome and you got it. I've book marked Legacy for a winter project in Florida.
YES! I was right. haha. And very cool about the winter project. If I remember correctly, I think that they had a version that was designed to be installed in much colder conditions; However, I doubt that Florida gets that cold. haha
Nice work, used to do everything I could do myself without a contractor in my younger days and it really pays off ...
You even make laying floors down look cool! 🤣
Great job guys! (and about time the Vella Flooring Tips channel stopped banging on about those silly paramotors)
Awesome job guys!
We just finished grinding our garage floor and so the epoxy layers starts tomorrow! I hope it turns out as good as yours.
Thanks for posting man!
At 3:15, did you grind the concrete floor with just regular mask? It’s full of crystalline silica dust!! You need at least N95 or P100.
good job guys, we do like the video, we wish we would do that.
Haha! That was great. I had no idea when I saw it that you put that much work into it! You did a BANG UP JOB! That means good! I think... 🤔😆😆
I KNEW IT! Ha! Now I get to rub it in Leandra's face. lol
@@AnthonyVella Haha! I don't want to be in the middle of this argument! ;)
Uuauuuuu , fantástic . Like like like congratulations !
I've always wanted to put epoxy in my workshop...hummmm. Yours looks sweet. Bang- up means good.
How has it worn? Is it slippery when wet? I have seen mixing in some kind of particulate into the clear coats to reduce skickness.
Congrats, nicely done and cool design for the storage space above… I discovered Get Organized with The Home Edit show Sunday and I expect they would love the idea!!! 👏🏽👏🏽
Bang up is good!
great job, well done for having a go, must be quite satisfying knowing you've saved enough money for a new paramotor now, wink wink
That right, Dennis! Haha. 😂
It’s daunting when your against the clock, but well done you two it looks amazing, i was supposed to have someone concrete a 40 square metre garage along with 30 square metres of footpath but he has let me down so very soon I will know what it’s like to be against the clock as I don my wellingtons and get knee deep in concrete 🥺
Great video
How much would it cost me to have you two professionals come out to Ohio and do the work for me. You did a bang up job. Thanks for representing our TriState Skywalkers!
We’ll do it for you if you get the product! Haha. You better help us though. And you’re welcome! I love this shirt; comfortable and great design.
Great video I wanna do that to my garage you should make a video on where your wife is from and like more background story about yourself that would be awesome
Way cool. A lot of work, but so rewarding i bet. Bang up=good job in my book too. lol
Thank you Bob! It really was a ton of effort. 😂 I understand why company’s can charge as much as the do with all of the effort that goes into it, but it can totally be done yourself for far less.
Great team work! Looks nice.
Looks great! I've been eyeballing the Home Depot kit for a while. What do you feel all the extra flakes give? Just texture for grip or is it supposed to last longer? I'm going to be pulling a car in.
Hello! Our initial desire for the full flake was because we personally felt that it looked the best. Through some research, we found that it added to the durability of the floor. Also, in the even that there were any imperfections with the substrate, the flakes COMPLETELY mask it. The resulting floor looks very consistent all throughout. That is very challenging to pull off when doing the "Home Depot" kit because you have to moderate the limited flakes that you have evenly. I wish I could invite you ever to see our garage in person. We've been abusing it an it is very solid!
@@AnthonyVella makes a lot of sense... and I’ve got plenty of imperfections to mask. Maybe I’ll Motorhome it out west in a yr or two and check out how it’s holding up. While I’m there maybe you would let me fly from your field. Your terrain looks fun. I’m used to acres of tree tops in N GA. Thanks for the content!
@@stemtosternms4438 Absolutely! I'll show you all the great spots to fly around here. Also, there is a campground with full hook ups minutes from my house. It's a beautiful location with an AWESOME view of the mountains.
Great video. Thanks for sharing! What our products did you consider and why did you choose Legacy Industrial?
I can't find the flake color that you mention in the link. They seem to have all the more basic colors, not the ones I see in your video. Is there a dif link you could point me to?
How is the epoxy holding up after one year?
Looks great! For that full coverage, how many pounds of color chips did you guys end up using?
How do you think their epoxy compares to the home depot brand?
Man, that looks Awesome!!!
Looks like I'm on RUclips now, I guess I'm famous now 🤣
Haha! I was wondering if you were going to catch that.
Looks great, how ever I would be more careful when grinding floor. One of the concrete components is called silica, silica is a fine glass, it is so fine that once it enters your lungs it stays there forever. Silica goes to the air when griding. When grinding the floors you need a dust extractor and a mask and an air scrubber.
If you watched that video and are thinking about diy your concrete, check out osha's guidelines. Be safe
Dust extractor plugged to the grinder.
10/10 I would f*** that up!!
Nice work!
Hahaha! Yeah right, you're clearly a very smart person.
@@AnthonyVella debatable, brother... how have you been?
@@tomgillotti I've been doing well. Leandra and I have been keeping very busy with projects around the home. We've also just finished up making the backyard a special place. New trees and lawn. Redid the office. I am very excited to focus on flying now that the house projects are just about done.
How much does this one cost?
How's the gravity paramotor? I just finished training with Lone Star Paramotor yesterday. I'm waiting for your review before I decide between the Maverick and the Gravity.
HAHA! Hey Mackenzie. I am thoroughly enjoying the Gravity Defiant. The harness that comes with it is wildly comfortable. The propeller that comes with the Defiant is larger than the Maverick and produces slightly more thrust. It's more forgiving/robust a frame than the Maverick. It weights slightly more, but it's hard to tell the difference. Looks a subjective. The better deal is undeniably the Defiant. That's not an opinion. It costs thousands less and you get the same engine, performance, a bigger tank, and it an AMERICAN company!
All that said, I have enjoyed the Maverick. It's been good to me with a few exceptions. Stay tuned for my upcoming video on the Gravity Defiant. I will compare the two.
What did u do with the contents of the garage while u were doing the floor, I have work bench and floor cabinets and took boxes... do u rent a storage shed during process?
Hahaha! I was a lot to figure out! Its not like you can put everything back in your garage at the end of the day since it still needs to dry! I ended up parking the 4wheeler and paramotor in the backyard. I sold the workbenches since they were being used for storage. If you're close with your neighbors, that might be an option. When there is a will, there is a way! haha.
This is a great video, well done! Wanted to let you know your links are outdated -- just an FYI :)
Thank you very much! I’ll go search for the correct links.
How is it holding up? Great video btw.
Thank you! And so far, it looks like the day Leandra and I completed it. 🙂
Fantastic video well done. This is the best epoxy floor video out there. You guys rock together, you will have a great life together.
Thank you, Kirk! Reading this made for a great start to the day. 😁
It’s diy grade but came out good. As a owner of a professional coating company our product alone would cost us about $700 more then what you used.
Thank you for commenting! Admittedly, this process was a lot of work. I have a lot of respect for you guys who do this for a living!
@@AnthonyVella Appreciate that it. It’s definitely hard work!
ya the kits are 1500-4000 and have to rent the equipment ! not worth pay garage experts a 1000 more any have a full lifetime warranty
Totally wrong, NEVER WASH THE CONCRETE DOWN WITH WATER BEFORE APPLYING EPOXY OR WHAT EVER THEY USED.
SECONDLY THEY DID 1 COAT, THE FIRST COAT SHOULD BE THE SEALER COAT, THEN THE NEXT DAY THE EPOXY AND CHIP COAT. THEN 2 COATS SEALER. WHAT THEY DID WILL NOT LAST!
Can you do my floor for $250???
Washalo si se puede
jaja! Muchas gracias. 🙏
Baseboard trim in the garage??? OMG. Nice job.Disappointed you didn't use the paramotor to blow off the flakes. Major content opportunity lost.
I TOTALLY didn’t even think about that! But you’re absolutely right. It would have been the perfect opportunity to show off the paramotor’s power. 🤣😂🤣😂
U show her working and cleaning but never show her paramotoring why???? Why does she put up with this
NEVER WASH DOWN THE CONCRETE! SHOULD BE 2 COATS 1ST. THE SEALER COAT, THEN THE SECOND COAT WITH CHIPS BROADCAST. YOU SCRAPE THE FLOORS TO EVEN OUT CHIPS THEN THE 2 COATS OF SEALER. THIS IS SO (WRONG)!
MY GARAGE FLOOR LOOKS AWESOOOOOMMMMMEEEEEE!!!!! I DONT KNOW WHY WERE YELLING!!!!!!!!!!
