The pride lion cannot run when challenged, because it would mean his cubs die and him living the rest of his life alone in shame. Challengers however can run and give up when the fight becomes too tough.
If male lion have male cub to protect they usually fight the intruder but if they don't have male cub they usually withdrawn without fight just like makulu & pretty boy they withdrawn without fight because they don't have male cub
I can watch lion videos for hours, too, in June 2021. Except for the innocent cub killings. And the fights between males that seriously injure other males. Yeah, I know, that's nature, but still
I've been there man, 13 years ago. The place is beautiful as paradise, and there are lions EVERYWHERE we saw whole packs of them resting together, the driver got the truck 4 meters away and they didn't budge! They sat quietly like a nice family and posed for a picture. :-)
the two new males are legendary Notch & his brother blondie. the brother died in a battle at young age. Notch on the other hand made history. he indeed is the grandfather of half of the lions of masai mara in 2017
No Name He is not Notch you are wrong Look at him, he is to small to be Notch Even at 5 years old he was bigger than the most lions and definitely way bigger than his partner.
The lion roraing at 2:24 will be the next Marsh Pride male and called NOTCH. He was with a collegue. In one of the las series, when Simon King starts the Big Cat Week, he told the audience that Notch was still in charge of the pride but his collegue was been killed few month ago by three male lions intruders.
I love Shaft I saw the original movie back in 1972! Loved it Love these lions! Simba is a 👑 King Bebe Cubs are adorable! Thank You for sharing this beautiful video with me! 💜💜💜
That lioness walking on the path with her cubs was one of the most beautiful sights I've seen for a while. Makes it a bit depressing thinking that the once most profilic mammal species on the planet is on its way becoming endangered.
This sends chills down my spine. It reminds me of the hunting expedition that I had the good fortune to be a part of. Whe found ourselves in the midst of a Lion Pride. Words cannot express the dominant stature of a mature male Lion. This was not our time to be at the trigger. We all felt that we had just experianced a gift of a lifetime. Live on, Lion Pride!
I was thinking the same thing.. imagine what Mr T or makhulu or any other mapogo would have done to these two amateurs 😂 Mr T or makhulu alone would have mauled these two in half 🙌
In this case that didnt happen, simba held the pride for another year before notch and his Bussy took over the pride by that time the cubs were teens and could fend for themselves
Yea I agree,I wish there was some other way to have it happen but I guess it is the only way to keep the top genes in the mix.Not pleasant at all though, especially the cubs being killed.
David Holcomb There was a time back when I was a young man that a guy would not have anything to do with a woman that had children. It wasn't like lions killing cubs but a single Mom didn't have much of a chance finding a new man that would support another man's children and guess what? That trend is returning as well. Let the father feed his own kids and not make any more.
***** What? Humans and lions do not share any similarities with respect to offspring.Lions are forced to exhibit this behavior as it ensures the strongest genes get passed on.A man who wishes to be with a woman who happens to have children from a previous relationship will naturally assume that burden if he loves the woman so your analogy or comparison falls flat plus humans have far greater social skills than a damn lion. Also the laws are designed to ensure the natural father of children is held accountable financially A complex society will also ensure the health and fitness of all children so I fail to see what point you are trying to make.As far as the last thing you said,I would agree that a father should feed his own children and not make more but of course society is not so neatly encapsulated.Lion society is vastly different.
Frank Yang you are right mr.t was brave lion by himself he killed four selatis male, also if mr.t was here he will killed very easy those two introducers very easy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
kumra2002 prime for prime Notch would've rag dolled Mr T. Noch was an absolute power house of a male lion, experienced fighter with at least a 100 pound weight advantage over Mr T.
I know that this is probably the most obvious statement in the history of youtube...but lions are just such fucking badasses...male or female, cub or king of the pride...just unbelievable, all around badassery!

There was a lion, in the jungle, laying on the ground close to death. All the animals of the land we’re crowded around, taunting and poking fun at him. A mouse scurried atop the lion, and while dancing on his nose said ‘He can’t do anything to us now!’. The animal crowd laughed and continued to make fun of the lion. With all the energy left in his body, the lion lifted his head and said ‘Mock me now, but, I was a lion once.’
Actually, I don't think the outsider male lions were so confident as the narrator suggests. They're grown, eight-years-old as he said, and if they were strong and confident enough, they would have wasted no time and just attacked Simba, especially when he is a relatively old lion.
More importantly: when a male lion is defeated by another lion that means that the pride will still have a leader to guide and protect them. When a male lion is killed by humans, the pride is left without the leader and it got disrupted (which generally means that many of them, most notably the children, will die). And especially: because humans tend to kill the strongest lions, only the weakest will survive with it's exactly the contrary of the way nature should be (the strongest survive so that the strongest genes are carried).

Question: Why are the lions not attacking the human? I've been watching animal documentaries and it astonishes me how these footages are taken. I'm really curious, why are they not attacking?
They do at times. I think most eventually get used to humans. As they probably know from experience that humans are dangerous. Since some have a gun in the background. Like elephants, unless desperate lions tend to stay away from elephants and hunt smaller and easier prey. Personal experience of fear, am guessing.
Bellatrix Lestrange because lions are NOT the horrible maneating monsters that humans have made them out to be. They usually try to avoid conflict with ppl.
They zoom the camera they are not that close to the lions If humans go to the lions close enough i can say 50meter. It gonna take as threat and they may attack.
Baby lions are so cute ❤️😭❤️ love how the mama watches over her babies
Running doesn’t mean always cowardice. Run to fight another day.
The pride lion cannot run when challenged, because it would mean his cubs die and him living the rest of his life alone in shame. Challengers however can run and give up when the fight becomes too tough.

Human takeovers are much worse and bloodier if you asked me. And senseless. Lion killing cubs makes perfect sense.

With Scar and Simba, It would have been better if they'd called this video "Lion King Under attack" rather than "King Lion" :)
