  • Usually, battles between predators and their prey don’t last long, because the predators are bigger and stronger than their victims. But sometimes, predators meet their match. Have you ever seen a lone wolf trying to take on an adult bison? How do you think a lone hyena would fair against a pack of wild dogs? If you want to see some heart-pounding action, keep watching, as we look at 15 even matchups between powerful animals caught on camera.

    Bear Vs Lion
A lion fights a bear in a movie sequence, and although it’s a movie, probably under a controlled environment with trainers and all, it looks quite authentic and real. The fight ends in a stalemate. Don’t ask me what a bear is doing in the same enclosure as a lion at a zoo, but it’s the case in this video. The bear wants something the lion has, and a scuffle ensues between the two. The lion does not appreciate the bear getting so close, so he attacks it without hesitation.
The bear backs off and thinks about what he just did. These two seem to be sharing the same enclosure, which is totally inadequate and it’s no surprise they are fighting. I don’t know where these zoos are and what kind of regulatory bodies, they have in place to make sure wild animals in captivity are cared for properly, but this doesn’t look kosher at all.
    Crocodile Vs Crocodile
Here is a fight between two crocodiles that want to declare their dominance. Both reptiles are trying to bite into the other as they keep going in circles when the fight becomes more intense. When there’s a ready food source like this, crocs don’t hold back. Saltwater crocodiles don’t mind whether food is fresh or rotting. The carcass quickly attracts other crocodiles. Soon several crocs are fighting it out for the free meal. Here is an intense fight between two crocodiles.
The large one grabs the other one by the tail and executes the death roll. A man taps the crocodiles on the head with a stick and it’s enough for them to disengage and run in different directions. These three saltwater crocodiles display their territorial dominance over each other. They keep their mouths wide open and try to impress the others, but they don’t engage.

This does not happen very often tho it's true if they hunt in groups. But a lion would never take on an African buffalo or anything like that by itself. Solitary hunters like Felidae and Crocodylidae would never take on something bigger than themselves just think about it. Baleen whales' strategy revolves around being way more prominent than their prey. So mostly K9s and jaguars take on prey more significant prey than themselves because they have the group hunting and or very overpowered abilities.

The leopard by getting hold of the neck during an ambush and mauling it to death and the hyena by pretending to run away scared from the charging beast and then cutting back when the wildebeest overcommits to chasing him down in order to get hold of its butt and rip its intestines out (it's pretty dope seeing in action if you can find the video).

That video section is about a Korean zoo, on which two brown bears are kept with 2 african lions. The animals were being fed (meat was being thrown by the zoo keeper) and the bear invaded the lion vital space and wanted to steal its food. Lion was cornered. and he defended himself. Both aniimals deliveredd blows. But the bear went away also because the zoo keeper was throwing more meat so it wanted to go after it (other bear was being fed too). I don´t know about which animals are dominant on the enclosure., but bears apparently forced the lions to a corner. The otjher bear was apparently more dominant (not seen on this small video sample), despite being smaller but thicker in build.. Not sure why only a bit of the video is visible, but there were more parts... But lions specially seem very stressed on the complete version of the video.. To me this video isn´t revealing of anything and it is animal abuse. No vital space is given for them to have decent life and you should never keep these two animals together.

@@geogm.840 ya ,theres no natural rivalry between bears and african lion . Not like 2 species of felions like lion vs tiger where they both see each other as another big cat and would naturaly need to defend territory or a mate ! And often times in a zoo setting where animals are being fed at a distance there isnt pressure to fight for a easy meal . All this adds up to a very odd situation for a pride animal like the lion . They hang togather with their backs against the wall for sucurity , and have no real need to confront the bears for meal,.but are cornered against the wall when the bear doesnt respect this personal space ( a very odd occurrance for lions in the wild ) and they are with out real pride numbers to sway an advantage their way . The bear wont fight the dominant bear for food ,so he tries to muscle it away from the lions whom by their postures appear weak and unsure of themselves ! But of course lions by nature wont often willingly be a victom ,and fight back ! Animal abuse for sure . And it is done to tease spectators as to who is tougher the lions or bears .

As far as head to head combat as you see in videos where rams, elk, bison, buffalo, bucks, etc. They fight for rights of the female that's what I was getting at but in the entire animal kingdom I think the rhino will destroy anything on the ground. Maybe except an elephant. Full grown male elephant. Because of course I've seen lions take down elephant jeesh even full grown giraffe's. But a full grown grizzly bear/ kodiac. Or even a polar bear can take down very large animals. I mean there's video of polar bears taken down whales ( beluga). Like literally going in the water and grabbing them onto the ice. So I wouldn't doubt it for a second that a grizzly could take down a yak. But I just don't think they cross each other in the wild. And as far as combat. If they were to go head to head a yak would destroy a grizzly. But then again, the grizzly would be alot more agile and could manoeuver well around a yak to potentially take it down. Most of them show the donkey biting and not letting go of the hyena's ear. They tote them around, and will lay them down, still holding onto that ear and drop on them with their front knees, and/or hooves, breaking ribs. If they don't kill it, the hyena beats it out of there, if it can. The donkeys have the strength, stamina, kicking ability and bite force, to get rid of the hyena, one way or the other, in most cases. If the donkey, in this video, was a few pounds heavier and bigger than this one, there is a good chance it would have killed the hyena.

    • @geogm.840
      @geogm.840 Год назад +3

@@kevinthomes1046 I don´t think that lions won the majority of it. And that´s considering that you are using non verified old accounts, which are frequently considered unreliable. If so consider that old accounts also mention that a certain black bear was a source of great money for the ones that put money on it against lions and tigers.. This non verified account, from the USA, is the most impressive, IMO, considering interaction between big cats and bears, because a sole bear was used to kill big cats in different occasions (head on combats in capitvity). At first glance whenever the announcement of that fight was made nearly everyone bet on the lion or tiger. Then they would lose all the money, because that black bear turned into a well known big cat killer, but most didn´t knew it.. The same bear killed many big cats in different events. Descriptions of the fights mentioned that the bear was very flexible agile («as a monkey») and strong and that would quickly overpower the big cat.. Now if you ask me personally I think that it would take an exceptionally large black bear to do such task (larger than the big cat), so I take all this with a big grain of salt.. Jim Corbett described sloth bears killing tigers by jumping into them from trees. I also find this quite sketchy. There is also the description online of a sun bear killing a tiger, after a prolonged fight, but both died. The last one seemed one of the most credible, because it´s very well detailed. But I´m, not stupid, and I take all this with a grain of salt.Of course that tiger would kill a sun bear most times than not. I do remember also an account of a brown bear that killed a male lion named Parnell in captivity. Apparently a single well placed paw swipe was enough to put the lion sleeping. This could be true, but the bear must have been much larger than the lion to be able to do this. Other thing, we don´t known the health condition of the animals. Polar bears, for example, perform very bad in captivity mostly because the temperatures are too high and adult males are avoided to keep because of its temper.. Clyde Beatty kept many polar bears but nearly all were small females and suffered badly from overheating. Even a sloth bear once killed a polar bear in a circus.. So let´s be realistic, actually I don´t see how a lion could cope with a 600 kgs adult male brown bear or even a 350 kgs brown bear. Kodiak/coast alaskan/Kamchatkan brown bears are too much. It would be actually quite an unfair match... I have seen very large framed male brown bears, which didn´t even looked fat and they were weighing around 500kgs. If you open a thread on carnivora forum, about who would win, (Kodiak vs lion) nearly everyone would laugh at you, and there are plenty of cat enthusiasts there. Even the admin which is a huge lion and cougar fan would think that´s a joke. There is also famous fight on youtube in the wild on which you see a female sloth bear defending her cub from a male tiger and things are nowhere one sided as some imagine. Also old accounts mention black bears being killed by cougars (and the opposite), but for some reason as soon as science started to research both on the wild a different pattern emerges:: in turns out that black bears acquired the habit of stealing carcasses from cougars, at such an extent that some researchers call these bears «satelite bears» or «gravy trains». They basically live close to cougars and wait for them to make the kills to steal it. In the end both animals eat, but black bears are benefiting a lot from cougars. By the way, brown bears are doing the same to the recently reintroduced wolves, in Yellowstone.

Jaguars are awesome and underestimated. They're perfectly at home in trees, on land, and in water. They're incredibly muscled and powerful, and they have the hardest bite of all cats. They're "one bite, one kill" predators, even with large prey. I wouldn't bet against a jaguar, in any fight.
Kangals can defeat wolves mainly due to their traditional, spiked collars, which protect against the wolves' main attack. Take away the collar, and the kangal will lose, most of the time. Even with a collar, though, it's still impressive for a dog to defeat a wolf.

    When it come to LIONS
Why they always show a lion
    Fighting a younger animal
A Bear can easily destroyed a Lion

Huh? Yes, why? Because lions are belong to their habitat, not captive or human care unless they're unable to hunt anymore. And the actual lion habitat was Africa, while bear only live in Asia, bear don't need many experience to be strong because their part of diet was also plant-eating. while lion need it because they're CARNIVORE. A wild lion are match with wild bear. Accept the fact that even small injury can cause animal to death, they don't need fight for no reason unless they need for it, even if bear and lion live in same habitat, I'm sure they'll avoid each other, no matter which is stronger
