Ordered my s22 ultra yesterday. The price is the reason why I am getting it. I only keep phones for 2 years anyways so phones will always be improving. Never worried about battery cause I am always plugged in when driving.
What I've noticed alot of reviewers leaving out is the fact that the S23 Ultra now has DDR5X RAM which is twice the speed of regular DDR5 RAM (hence why they were able to drop the base RAM from 12GB down to 8GB in favor of more storage instead. The iPhone 14 Pro Max only has 6GB of RAM due to the efficiency of their chip, the overclocked SD 8 Gen 2 chip is on par or better then the 14 Pro Max chip) and it also has UFS 4.0 (flash storage) instead of the old UFS 3.1 tech that's been used for a long time now. The overclocked SD 8 Gen 2 chip, DDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 all combine to make the S23 Ultra a true "next gen" phone. The design remains the same, but the tech that is actually inside of the phone is a COMPLETE upgrade. Probably the biggest performance jump that we have gotten in year's.
And what does this mean in reality for the average user? I can assure you that it won't make much of a difference. I still have the Note 20 Ultra, and it's still a great phone, even when compared to other phones in 2023.
@@nusibusi4728 as someone with an s23 ultra who upgraded from an s22 ultra ( for cpl hundred $$ ) it was worth the upgrade.. the battery life of the s23 ultra is a HUGE difference. it runs much cooler, more stable performance over time as well. significant performance jump especially for gaming. even faster opening apps & completing tasks. the speaker is better. the screen gets even dimmer for low light. the microphones are better. the cameras are better, esp stabilization and video & lowlight.. i could go on and on.

Well it's only been 1 year, I hope it still holds it's own lol. Having said that...the S23 Ultras overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip absolutely decimates the S22 Ultras Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The Gen 2 chip is 40% faster and more efficient which make's this the biggest jump/upgrade in performance that we've had in year's. This is also finally a brand new camera sensor...the 108MP sensor on the S22 Ultra has been used for a few year's now. The design remains pretty much the same but the insides are completely different. What he and other reviewers also miss is the fact that the S23 Ultra now has DDR5X RAM which is twice the speed of regular DDR5 RAM and it also has UFS 4.0 (flash storage) instead of the old UFS 3.1 tech that's been being used for a long time now. Having just bought a mint s22u 512 unlocked from ebay for 480, the 22 is the buy currently. S23u was atleast 750 or more. More like 8-900 in the 512, and condition i found my s22. That 8g2 (23) is probably the best chip made by Q in many years though. Powerful and efficient. My 22U will be my work phone for the next 3-4 yrs already atleast. Replacing the GOAT Note9, finally lol. Pairing with a OnePlus 12 for my personal phone.
Thank you for the comparison. My S22 Ultra broke! It goes into boot cycle. I think this is due to heat caused by bad SoC. Used it just over a year. The only reason why I go with Samsung because I don't like iPhones. Another friend of mine had the same issue with S22 Ultra. Hopefully Samsung is doing a better job with quality controls.
It depends on your finances, I want the 23 ultra but it's out of my price bracket. The 22 ultra on the other hand is a heck of a lot cheaper and is still a good phone.
Thanks for this video. I got me an S22 Ultra last month and your video confirmed I did the right thing buying the S22U! Hope it serves me for a few years from now😊
Bought an used S22 Ultra last weekend with minor scratches and not original S-pen (works perfectly except for air gestures which are useless to me) for €335,- Very satisfied so far, except for battery could be better.
I agree but I paid $700 plus trade in so if you get a good deal then yes but if you’re paying a chunk of change plus a trade it, then I would not recommend it
Thanks for the review! It's definitely valuable. One thing I find very unfortunate is that no reviewer of these phones ever discusses the reliability and speed of the autofocus. I use an S20 fe and the 3x zoom camera has a super slow autofocus and often times refuses to focus on a contrasty area I have selected. It's nothing like the main camera and it's very dissatisfying. No one also talks about the minimum shutter speed the cameras select. My 3x camera picks a 1/50" shutter speed which makes it impossible to shoot almost any movement without motion blur from the subject. Why don't you mention these things?
I’m sorry to hear that mate, I honestly don’t know too much about cameras and don’t find myself using them to often in my day day so I tend to glance over them in my videos. I’ll keep learning and try my best to look out for these things for the future.
Could it be that companies can downgrade the camera quality on purpose? Look at pixels the quality keeps getting better with updates some may do the opposite
Hi, iPhone user Here! I have a iPhone 11 Pro right now and a macbook pro. I was considering going up to the Iphone 14 pro max - but the S23 Ultra and S22 for cheaper look so good and appealing! What would you recommend. Is it worth switching to an andriod phone and keeping same laptop? Also have an a Which color was your S23 Ultra. I really love the cream!
Hey sorry for the late reply mate, but yes I think it's worth the switch. Unless you deeply rely on file transfers/ecosystem compatibility from your phone to your laptop then it might be tough but there are definitely some work around for file transfers. I personally have a MacBook myself and the s23 ultra and I rarely have to transfer files and for ecosystem compatibility I use Sony headphones which have the ability to connect to two devices so I can switch between my laptop and phone when needed. I have the Sky Blue color.
If you are connected within the Apple ecosystem and most contacts you know are on iPhone, stick with Apple. If you want to try something new and different and not heavily into the ecosystem, definitely get the S23 Ultra and try the “other” side lol 😂
