Just finished another rockfish taco and lobster quesadilla season. On to bluefin and yellow tail. Giving away our San Diego secrets
Haha. Not all of them!
Awesome video! Just got a boat, I’m looking to go out rock fishing, any specific way you want to point out, locations? Thx for the help
Just meter around in 200-400' of water looking for structure. Don't focus on big clouds of bait. Look for rocks holding small boomerangs down on the bottom. THis is basically where all of our spots have come from. Keep an eye on the bottom when you're running offshore and mark stuff that looks juicy to try again later. Good luck.
@@LocalKnowledge thank you for the information! I will definitely do that!
I have caught a shit load (hundreds) of white fish and never been stabbed by the gills lol that’s where I grab them like squeezing they’re cheeks
They don't call them Brown Razor Gilled Bottom Dorado for nothing.
Great video! What light do you guys use for your buoys?
Look up Blinky Lights on Amazon. BEst lights we've ever used.
@@LocalKnowledge Thank you!
I heard you this morning on "Let's talk hook up" radio show, and based on what you said I wanted to view your show on RUclips. Just like you said the video is beautiful, it's very difficult to find good 4k content. The 4k on this show is just spectacular, I didn't know my TV could deliver such vivid pictures. Thanks Ali for the great show, and all your hard work.
This is awesome! Glad you are enjoying the 4k experience!
Ali flexing the pick up oh so subtly.
No flex. Love old cars. That's all....
Wonderful content! I always enjoy your videos. Thanks!
Thanks so much Tom!
Great episode guys, more SoCal content pls!
More coming. We usually fish Florida for the first half of the season when their fishing is good and then shoot Socal/Baja on the back half. We are jonesing to bring you some more big bluefin.
San Diego is a seafood gold mine that not everyone who’s never been there knows about. I miss it every day. Great content thanks guys.
Thanks for watching!
I been catching white fish and sculpin every weekend on my day off lately. I be going on the half day boat in Redondo Beach, California. This video was amazing, this is good content.
Thanks Nick!
I believe we saw you guys that night, right on
Worlds biggest hoop net "skiff" being followed by another big center console? That would be us. :) Still good times!
Love the show. Try and show a touch more catch and cook. please.
We got a few killer recipes coming up.
@@LocalKnowledge very very cool. Love your show guys. It has this honest appeal about it and has shown me some solid angling tips. Your cooking. Get outta here. Lol. I’m on a quest to make every recipe you offer. Lol keep up the excellent work gentlemen.
Awesome, still watching but thanks guys. Love your stuff
Awesome, thank you!
The good news is that in 2021 you can now fish 100 fathoms (600 feet) for rockfish in Southern California. The bad news is that the limit on vermillion rockfish (the red ones) is now only 5 per day. No second tacos for you.
You just have to catch bigger Reds! :)
Awesome video! Epic! Thanks for sharing cant wait for season lobster open 2021 🤙
Send butter!
Just absolute premo fishing content. Love this channel and the hard work editing and producing it shows in a huge way. Only a matter of time before the youtube algo kicks in and helps one of these videos get some major exposure. Thanks for the content ali/rush. Putting the boat in soon for May stripers/black sea bass over here in Westport MA
Much appreciated! Thanks for the kind words. Please share with your boys.
Have you ever tried a can of cat food to attract lobster? It's got the stink and oil in a can. Pop several holes into the can and wallah, no-chop "bait".
Yes sir. Many times. There's just no replacement for that fresh, oily bait.
💯🎣🔥👊🏽 can’t wait to hit the ocean.
Season is just firing up!
Freezing those bait jars the night before you go is a way you can make the intense scent last a bit longer.
Seems like a good idea till you smell your freezer a couple of days after you take them out.
Ziplocks
We do this when we have a bunch of left over bait. Works awesome.
Bringing the fire!! As always boys!
Grassy ass!
Recently went out and did some rock fishing my self out to Catalina the new depth limit has really been bringing in some big Beauty’s
Yes! New/Old areas to explore and they seem to be producing!
Cool video. I live in NorCal. Really hard to go rock fishing unless conditions are nice outside the golden gate. You guys are lucky to be able to fish with shorts and not deal with fowl conditions down south
We aren't gonna argue!
@@LocalKnowledge haha. For sure. Real nice video. I liked your sturgeon one with Zach and Virginia. They are one of the top boats here in the delta, glad they put you on some dinos.
I would love to come fish with you guys. Rockfish Tuna it doesn’t matter. We have a mutual friend Jim Mitchell. Hope to hear back. Another great episode.
Hey Ken, thanks for the comment. We will be giving away a trip this year. Stay Tuned.
Is that the Rock pile? Used to fish there in the 70-80s
No, but not too far away!
The scene with Rutchie working the bait bucket had me 💀💀💀
Gotta put these Florida boys to work.
Loved the segment on spiny lobster fishing, fellas. Quick question... where do you guys buy your lobster bait receptacles? Those suckers are perfect for keepin' those pesky "sea dogs" out!
They are called crab bait cups. Google them. Cheap and effective.
The Chinese have sky rocketed the price on the Lobsters last season. Year before we were paying maybe around $15 to $22 a pound, This year it never went under $24 a pound
Probably because the Chinese boycotted Australian lobsters because Australia hurt their feelings.
this is true.
Still don’t understand how this channel only has 40k subscribers. This show is SO good. (Edit for spelling)
too many adds
US too! RUclips is a tough cookie to crack. WE'll keep the content flowing. Please share with your friends.
RUclips runs the ads, not us. We don't like them either. You can watch on our apps in your favorite app store. Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku, ETC.
@@LocalKnowledge seems not very many of the newer episodes are on Amazon prime or Apple TV.
I have a PENN squall 300 LPHS on the way, any suggestions for a rod? (Fishing out of San Diego, want to set it up for offshore use) thanks for the help.
That Prevail II with the Winn Grips is super sick. Great for Calicos and stuff.
Something looks different, Blue sea vee? mercs? Hmmmm.
Change is in there air....
Got a recipe for your fish tacos?
Coming soon! Watch our channel.
California lobster are much better than the Maine lobster
We used to agree. Have a lobster roll in Cape Cod. Might change your life. Remember all the west coast "maine" lobsters have been riding in a warm truck full of water for days/weeks. A fresh east coast lobsta roll is hard to beat.
I see you dropped the Evinrudes (yeah I know they stopped making them) for the Mercury''s. Love the rockfish.
We loved our Evinrudes but these Mercs are next level.

If fish is only good as tacos. Then maybe its not that "delicious". Just saying.
you haven’t tried rockfish, have you?
Who said it was ONLY good as taco’s. Rock fish tacos are awesome but the fish is good eating all around
Dunno why tacos are seen as a low form of eating fish. Done properly, the fish is the star of the show with them. Corn tortilla, a little onion, lime, and cilantro are all you need.
Wrong. This is Socal. We eat tacos. Like a lot. Rock fish are also awesome ceviche, fish and chips, steamed, baked and poached. Try some!
Clearly, no. Haha.
Bunch of goons lmao
Ikr says you haha
M'kay. Thanks.
