hi guys ... i'm not a fisherman but here in the Mediterranean sea there is no kelp so Maltese fisherman tie together palm tree leaves and at the start of the season they take them out at sea and tie them down , obviously keeping their coordinates and then going fishing from one batch to the other throughout the season ... good luck in your fishing trips ... ps ... the doredo fish we catch here are between 40cms and 60cms ... Garry from Malta
Hey guys. Really enjoy your channel. I'm up in the Bay Area, and fish local/long range out of San Diego several times a year. Great information from your channel. Thanks and keep it up! Jeff
Ground chum. You can get it at any good tackle shop. We typically make macs right outside the entrance. Sometimes we have to run north or south a few miles and look for birds if they aren't there.
When we say live bait, we mean LARGE quantities of finbaits. Our Socal bait docks scoop out literal TONS of bait each morning during the summer/fall season. To our knowledge nowhere else does this 24/7/365.
Ali I like your shows. Is a Daiwa 7ft FT rated for 15-30 lb, a Penn Squall 15 reel, and 20lb mono mainline too light for yellowtail and small tuna around Catalina?
@@LocalKnowledge Pretty awesome re watching as a more experienced angler. No where near you guys, but I really hope to catch and release my first dodo this year. Season is now! Also I've said this, but as a photographer i seriously appreciate the underwater footage. You guys are killing it, Tight Lines!
if you could only buy 5 lures for offshore SD fishing, only 5, what would you get and what size? trying to start my collection, also live in SD, just started going offshore three weeks ago.
@@LocalKnowledge alright i’m going out for the first time saturday, thinking of going upper 9 to the 178, don’t want to go crazy far and don’t want to go into mexican waters yet. any recommendations on certain spots? thanks man
I like that Spinning Combo that Rush is using, can you please tell me what Rod and Reel he is fishing with ? - I'm in the market for something like that. Thanks!
They are using a couple of different models of the PENN Slammer III reel, mostly 5500 and 6500 size, matched with the 7-foot PENN Carnage II spin rods; the 30-65 and 40-80 models respectively match up well with those reels.
Yes but you will need to be prepared. PFD, Radio, Flares, etc. You also REALLY need to pick your weather days. It can get windy out of nowhere at times. Good luck.
24/7/365. We aren't aware of any other place that has our kind of live bait service. Some places have it for a few months and very limited options. SoCal is the live bait capital of the world.
That's the best episode so far! Another great show!
Thank you for watching Roger!
Great episode agin thanks for them all. Love the last statement from Rush. Shows the love for the sport.
Rush is a passionate angler. Thank you for watching!

Mahi tastes great no matter where you catch'em! Thank you for watching.

Salud!
You deserve more subs
What a vid!
Thanks for watching!
Right now the Yellowtail, Bonito, and Barracuda are following kelp paddies on the Ventura/ Santa Barbara coast, great fall fishing!
What’s in your chum bucket for making Mack bait? ...were you making bait in the Mission Bay entry channel or just outside?
Ground chum. You can get it at any good tackle shop. We typically make macs right outside the entrance. Sometimes we have to run north or south a few miles and look for birds if they aren't there.
Dorado... one of my favorite fish to eat. I've only had my small boat for 2 years, and the intel you share is awesome.
Dorado fish tacos are one of our favorite meals. Thanks for watching!
I make "Mahi burgers". Toasted bun, mahi fillet fried in butter, with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and mayo. Delicious.
Those don't suck either!
going tonight!!!!!! hoping the Old Glory does me well they caught 40+ last night
Best of luck!
What kind of boat is that?
32' Andros.
Broski, docks in Louisiana have been selling live bait minnows and shrimp for decades

I'd prefer 25 or 30 leader connected to 65# braid for that application. Ali
Nice Vid! Send more vids of San Diego
More to come in Seasn 4. We start filming next month.
SICK!
Thanks for watching!

You must just edit out all of the seals stealing fish off the kelp beds 🤣
Haha. That definitely happens!
Damn Ali
Yoos a baller with them wheels
Cadillac lac lac lac, Cadillac lac lac lac, too early for the hook
What kind of braid line is that you guys fishing with?
Spiderwire Camo Braid. Great stuff.
What size Slammer and line where you guys useing? Great Video
Mostly 5500s for San Diego fishing with a Penn Carnage Rod.

A couple DTX in 160 and 200mm. A couple madscads in 115 and 150 and a couple of flatfalls 200 and 230g. Good luck

What he said! Thanks @tunanorth
Thank You tunanorth - going to buy the lighter set up tomorrow.
Please do an episode around here. Long Beach, San Pedro, Catalina Island, San Clemente Island.
It's coming Jody. We have lot of water left to cover!
I’ve found that if you put a lure on the end of your sabici rig that looks like the bait fish your get a lot more bites on those bait fish.
This is a trick we use from time to time!
could i make it out to the paddies in my jetski out of Shelter Island?
Yes but you will need to be prepared. PFD, Radio, Flares, etc. You also REALLY need to pick your weather days. It can get windy out of nowhere at times. Good luck.
What size spinning reels are you using? And rod specs? I Gotta add to my arsenal.
good question! we made a video here showing some of my socal arsenal ruclips.net/video/_dGj92l4EpE/видео.html
Oh shit Ali ride is nice im a mechanic and now i really like Ali lol hahahahahahahaha
Thanks so much!
So y'all have two Andros?
Yes sir. We now have two new SeaVee Boats for Season 4. Wait till you see them!
yeah i saw the keys one was posted up for sale, saw rush's facebook marketplace ad. good for you on the sea vees.
Maybe a bit bias because SD is my hometown...but this was one of my favorite episodes. I like them all though.
The Nomad Maverick lure ?
We used Riptides and Madscads for this episode mostly.
@@LocalKnowledge
Ali how do you like that andros boat?
I seen you switch boats to sea vee
Did Rush relocate to San Diego?
I see you guys are on his boat
Rush is still in the Keys guiding. Andros is our sponsor, and we're lucky enough to have Offshore 32 on the west coast!
Solo graft the Mahi with pole in hand , gangster!
"I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man."
I got a 50 found mahi last week
That's a giant! Congrats.
@@LocalKnowledge thanks you should fish in Virginia
#salud
One of the best!
Before I die I need to fish for mahi
They are one of our favorites for sure!
8:20_when the Fishing actually atarts
We try to show every aspect of our sport. Not just the catching part.
The only place on earth where you can pull up to a dock and buy live bait?? Seems legit
24/7/365. We aren't aware of any other place that has our kind of live bait service. Some places have it for a few months and very limited options. SoCal is the live bait capital of the world.
@@LocalKnowledge true even in hawaii they don't flyline live baits. All they do is troll.
1:30 -- Pick one volume level and stick with it please, Jesus Christ
Sorry for the major inconvenience.
Can't believe u actually kept that bluefin...like are u really that desperate the thing was barely 5 pounds let the damn thing grow
We get lots and lots of small bluefin on the west coast. Nothing wrong with taking one home for sushi.
Rush catches the Bluefin, Ali doesn’t let him hold it for the camera geez
Haha. Team work?
Second comment👊
bla bla bla not from?- all need 2 grow up= shark feed= off season= look them= no jail?????????????
Very eloquent.
