Thanks on the sound comment, it takes a lot of work just to get the sound perfect. I placed a zoom h1 and taped it right under the battery and in between the motor, this was able to capture some quality motor sound

Love your channel, I'm just like you in my ev building addiction built many ev's. What battery are you using or cells? Keep it up your channel should be blowning up. I'll tell everyone about your channel. Would be cool to get more detials and or build vids. I haven't been posting my creations, but may at some point. I just made a Chinese 125cc atv into electric using a qs138 90h motor and a far driver nd72530 controller esc, motor could take a beefier esc just testing. I could def drop power train in a full size atv. Keep it up man your stuff rocks love your shit!!!
Those batteries I get made from a China factory I deal with one on one and that way they can customize to me needs. They’re lipo polymers. The motor package you just described I have the same set up on a power wheel I converted for adults, except I used the nd96530 and 118volts lipos, was just having an experiment on getting more linear power band (more rpm) with higher voltage setup. Do You have the Bluetooth module and app? This is something interesting with that controller, it has a flaw and thinks that qs motor is 4 poles and shift angle is off. But after hunting down the manufacture, they said this is normal as of now. My temp sensor also was off, so the controller would shut motor off due to the controller thinking it was hotter than it was. I had to select none in the temp parameters to get this fixed. Take a look in your app tell me what your motor parameters say!!
@@RexSmithII yeah I'll send info later give me your email, I have a couple different bluetooth apps, I found out via watching a QS FB vid with a far driver esc and saw my motor never completed the auto learn process once I got that completed it is fix runs amazing I got it tuned/limited down due to my current battery amp limitations and connectors, saw you using a qs8 anti spark I'll probably get some of those. I tried setting my motor to 5 poles also since that is what motor specs say on it. I got up to 51mph could have went fast but was too sktech on my current tires etc. I'm running stock front sprocket 14t but I got a huge 56t rear sprocket. I'm only running 18s atm so 66.6v nominal.
@@RexSmithII oh forgot to mention I'm gonna wire up a usb to serial adapter from one of my Kelly controllers so I can hook far driver up to my pc and get at some settings the Bluetooth app don't have or won't save.

The motor is already connected to the transmission just exactly how a dirt bike engine is. Just think of the head missing and that is the overall size of this motor

@@vincentpernicano3277 sure you can, you would need at a 300 amp BMS and still even with that size you can run into shut off problems because your supposed to get double the peak amps, this bike gets up to almost 230amps, so you would be better off with a 400 amps BMS and now you are looking a few hundred dollars. This was straight for performance and I didn’t want more things in the way to cause future problems. The controller I set at 69volts it’s shuts off, 70 lose 50% power, 72 volts lose 25% power. (You can adjust these parameters how ever you like to fit your battery specs)This works great as the controller is meant to handle all this current any. But let’s say you were going to makert this around the world, then I would agree on a really good bms.
@@RexSmithII Right makes sense. For pro-sumers your approach works just fine and cuts cost. It does seem like a challenge to find the customers who understand the value proposition of an electric dirt bike and can also afford it.
