It's worth noting that Agravain legit thought Lancelot was intentionally cuckolding Arthur without knowing he was actually a woman. Agravain might have been a douchebag to throw Lancelot and Guinevere under the bus like that but he *genuinely* thought that he was exposing a traitor.
@@OtakuDaiKun It actually is worth quite a bit, as it further plays into Artoria's inability to understand the hearts of her people. She genuinely thought her knights so weak of heart and disloyal that they wouldn't have followed her had they known she was a woman. If she had had more faith in her knights, and trusted them to know her true identity, Agravaine would've KNOWN that the affair between Lancelot and Gwenivere was allowed by Artoria, and therefor would've just let them be, instead of outing them as traitors. He GENUINELY thought he was doing his King a service, when in fact, because he didn't have all the information due to Artoria's mistrust, he made a choice that ended up hurting his King. To make matters worse, Artoria now has to back that choice, else risk her secret being found, but at the same time, refuses to punish Lancelot because she knows he didn't actually do anything wrong, and any crimes he committed were a result of Artoria's own mistrust, which drives Lancelot insane because, AGAIN, since Artoria just HAS to be the perfect King and back Agravain's choice, Lancelot's sitting there like "BITCH YOU JUST CALLED ME A TRAITOR YESTERDAY IN TOWN SQUARE AND NOW YOU'RE SENDING A PRIVATE I'M SORRY LETTER WTF?!" Further, Artoria would've been able to be more frank and honest, for example with Mordred. Instead of maintaining this perfect Kingly image Artoria was obssessed with, she could've honestly told Mordred when she first came about being acknowledged as the heir to the throne "Look. It's seriously not that I'm denying you as my heir. I accept that. You are my child. But you are not READY for the Crown. Not yet. You COULD be. But not yet. So I can't yet name you my heir." which could've avoided a bloody rebellion, and fall of England. Instead, what was got was Artoria who is sacrificing her very sense of self so that she can be viewed as this larger than life, completely perfect king, which is the VERY reason why her people rose against her in the first place.
Mordred aside it's less Artoria being bad at understanding her subjects and more her being inside a web of intrigue and secrets. Arthur favored Lancelot and Bedivere over all others and was protected by Kay and other Knights who treated her as a fellow Knight and not as a symbol. Everyone who stood by her side during the rebellion legitimately trusted in their King and knew "he" had taken every action with them in mind. Even Lancelot's last words in Zero are strangely worded by Urobuchi in Urobuchi's usual disdain of King Arthur (I have no idea why he had such a hard-on for hating on Arthur) but if you truly go back and hear them properly Lancelot admonishes her for not properly punishing him but also reminds her that she should not doubt her accomplishments and that her Round Table all thought she was the Great King Britain had ever known. Remember that his admonishment only comes from his mind AFTER failing to be at the battle of Camlann due to Gawainn, which in itself was a product of Lancelot killing Gawain's siblings. I think Nasu actually adresses this very issue in all his writing for Arthur-related material, showing that the knights that betrayed Arthur all desired penance for their betrayal regardless of the cost. Even Mordred in Apocrypha was forced to respect Artoria's ordeal. There's a reason why Bedivere, the most ordinary of the Round Table, was also the most loyal.
Come to think of it, if you read at least the summary of Lancelot's original lore in Arthurian Legend he shares exactly the same fate of Kiritsugu from every angle: - He became orphaned after the destruction of his supposed to be kingdom including his parents similar to the dead apostle incident - adopted and grew up under Nimue similar to Kiritsugu under Natalya - Both dscarding all of the credits they deserve for a glory of others (Lancelot's concept of For Someone's Glory and Emiya's duty as Mage killer and become an assassin in shadows) - became knights of the round similar on how emiya represents einsbern in HGW and both outclassed every enemies in their battles in those wars - both became fathers - both have an affair (lancelot to Elaine and Guinevere, Emiya to Iri and Maya) - both got mental breakdown (lancelot for his guilt for his betrayal and emiya for sacrificing natalya) - both betrayed most important things for them (Lancelot to Arthur, Emiya to ironically Artoria and the holy grail) - both been black listed after their betrayal (lancelot to see holy grail with his eyes, and emiya to see his daughter ilya) - both lived the rest of their lives like a hermit until they died both through body failure. - And another thing both have a child who is a predicted savior who both return the holy grail in the afterlife (Galahad - Ilya's role in Heaven's Feel)
@@jaieregilmore971 I prefer to choose either gawain or mordred given the fact that gawain want to seek vengeance on him or mordred on his final battle with arthur in camlan or arthur’s treatment on her while on his side.

Kawaii and Beans Fair. I guess the real question is if Artoria still got the idea on her own... probably not. She is still naive about human desire by that point.
If you rewatch the scene, although it has been directed to seem like Artoria is responding to Lancelot, they are actually both blaming themselves without knowing how each other felt. It actually makes the scene much better in my opinion and definitely more human.

Gilgamesh: I possessed all Noble phantasms, mongrel! Emiya Archer: I can make copies of noble phantasms! Lancelot: I CAN MAKE ANYTHING MY NOBLE PHANTASM!ARRRRTHUUUUUR!
I still never understood why people hated Arotia for being a perfect King. Did they want to tyrant. And why would you want someone to punish you, if they still see it fit to forgive you.
Lincoln Beckett-Scott It is not like she was hated. But throughout her rule of Britain, she was placed too high on the pedestal that the masses do not relate to her as opposed to say, Iskandar or Gilgamesh who clearly values their subjects despite their tyrannical rule.
She was a "perfect king" in some aspects but later in her reign she secluded herself to rule and neglecting her court and knights. Some started to resent her and she had a naive outlook which didn't help either. The thing that lead to her down fall was multiple scandalous events that slowly turned the people against Arturia.I think that if she was more involved with the ones closest to her then her downfall could have been prevented.(So basically she was focused to much outwards instead of inwards making her blind to things right in front of her face.
Spoilers Britain's downfall was something inevitable in the beginning. Age of Gods Britain's fall on Camlann is something that is timelocked. (crucial event necessary for all of Human History to continue). It was out of Artoria's control. Merlin tells her that she would die a horrible death, being hated by everyone and isolated from everyone by pulling the sword. Britain's fall wasn't something preventable to begin with. I would argue that Artoria is very much optimistic (Garden of Avalon), but hardly "naive". The kingdom was able to enjoy prosperity before its fall after all, referred to as the "Golden Age" in GoA. She simply did the best she could til the end. The multiple scandalous events had nothing to do with her not focusing on inner affairs. You can't really control people's intentions, each individual having independent desires cannot be controlled. It should be stated clear that she also consistently managed conflicts inside Britain among numerous factions. Artoria didn't neglect anybody; events related to Mordred & Agravain-Lancelot-Gunieviere is Morgan le Fay's fault more than anything. The entire point of Artoria's story isn't that she was a negligent person, (common misconception - far from it, if people actually dive into her backstory and character), but rather that one person can only do so much, while people around her and destiny itself proceeds to shank the said individual because the world got bored of heroes.
I heard that there is an original draft of the Legend by its author where Arthur was actually a tyrant. And not just any tyrant. A corrupt, sadistic, power-hungry and war-mongering despot who couldn't care less of honor or chivalry, and ruled through terror. The likes that would make King John preferable. And that Mordred was actually the protagonist, fighting Arthur to free Britannia from his evil.
She did everything she could perfectly, it was just that the people around her in their ignorance and irrational thinking couldn't really understand her. Like lancelots whole logic about wanting to be punished is just stupid and senseless. Just individuals creating these personal values to have something to be anchored to in a way.
Lancelot was an honorable knight that always tried to do what he believed was right despite what others thought, and only desired punishment for any sin he believed he committed, only to be met with a forgiveness that broke his heart. When he tried to right it in life he was denied, only to be granted that in his madness after death and to that I only have one thing to say...screw you Agravain and let up Gawain they were going to kill the women he loved and all he wanted was to serve his king.
In what kind of country you burn infidel spouses ? Gwen was loved by everyone but suddently, because she (possibly) had an affair with someone, she must be burned on a pyre ? I can accept hanging but being burned alive. No, just no.
I really like the idea on the subversion of what Lancelot is to compared to most pop-culture media, He is usually portrayed as the best, honourable, white knight of the round. But his Berserker form, and overall tale in Fate is basically the complete opposite. I love the idea that he is the Black Knight of the Arthurian Myth, Makes him seem cooler
These servant backstories can make a series of prequel Fate movies on thier own. Like a buddycop movie staring Gilgamesh and Enkudu in ancient Babylonia, the whole Camelot story, the Adventures of Cu, Heracles's life story, the history of Rome. They wont run out of material anytime soon.

Lancelot died during his time in a madness state? I dont think so, in fact in some stories this is what really actually happens: - He was blocked to see the holy grail (by tristan instead of gawain) when galahad got his hands on it not at participating in Arthur's last battle, in fact he is currently insane during that time. - he didn't got insane because he denied to participate in arthur's last battle leading to his demise but when he realize all of the scandal they have with Gwen were a big mistake and too late to realized it. Lancelot is basically absent the entire battle. SN: Roland of the Twelve Peers (where Astolfo is also a member of) shares the same fate but because he rejects to have an affair with king charlemagne's wife/queen. - his madness last for almost 3 years until she found by Vivian and heal his madness, he lived but living next years searching what he had lost and missed all these time. In fact it is also the last time Lancelot redeemed himself by banding all of remaining Knights of the Round and their army to fight one last time against the Saxons invasion where the sons of Morded takes sides with but Lancelot and his army destroyed all of them. - aftermath of it is they cross paths with Gwen seeing her become a nun, she excomunicate him on her life but Lancelot still persist to also join her on her penitence so he became a priest. Lancelot at this time officially got retired as a knight. - He died of body failure after a years of fasting and abstinence and three months after gwen's death.
OtakuDaiKun well can't deny that fact but it was more of seeking redemption for the rest of his life. Basically he live the remaining years and died just like Kiritsugu Emiya in the actual legend
As a child, Lancelot was always my favorite Knight of the Round because of his extreme skill and also swords are cool. Growing up, Lancelot was still my favorite Knight of the Round because of his immense chivalry and also swords are cool. As an adult, Lancelot is still my favorite Knight of the Round but now with more MILF hunting and also swords, miniguns, F-15 jets, and that stick over there are cool.

Can you do Gilles de rais sometime soon! I absolutely love the story between him and Jeanne d'arc and his transformation into bluebeard the fate/zero caster!!
For some reason, looking at the title, I couldn't not think of an animation where a monk tells off weather phenomena (that had legs and are jumping around) for causing too much of a ruckus and ruining his attempt to write "The Tale of Sir Lancelot". If you know what I'm referencing, congratulations, there is much rejoicing for you.
Oh yeah. That's a solid point. I don't recall them, at least in the anime, tying that back into his story since they were waiting to do the big reveal later on.
That sounds lovely, but i just noticed something. I don't remember you saying what other classes he could be summoned into. Can he not be summoned as a sabre?
I’m curious about a specific character which you haven’t done a fate lore episode on. Okita Souji. He was a police officer commander/Samarai/swordsman/bad*ss. I want to know more about his background so if you could, please make a video on him... her.
well to be fair, there nothing interesting going on during his time as saber aside from being a successful knight of his time to the point of he almost considered as the king's 2nd in command culturally speaking, being ladies man to the point of Elaine drugged him Talia Al'Ghul style and giving birth to Galahad to having a secret affair w/ Guinevere, and how he flipped Galehaut to defect to King Arthur's side and ruled Galehaut's fortress and changing its name. Or maybe the most interesting story of him is his time as a kid and how he was raised by Nimue w/ his cousins and how they become KoftRT
If you want to be a King, at the bare minimum you must understand how the human mind and heart works and balancing between what the people want and what the people need if you can't even do that......then, you're unfit to be a King.
The chemistry between him and Gilgamesh always puzzled me Born out of chance, or did their army collide with each other in the pages of history? Or maybe he just saw him as a worthy opponent?
Like if you guys want lancelots np changed to Just standing there using the gatling gun. To lancelot jumping to a jet and gunning every enemy as the jet passes by.
There's still plenty of figures from legend/history known for their violent rages who haven't yet gotten adapted into the Fate canon, and yet they put characters like Lu Bu and Darius - people who weren't prone to such fits - into that class. Kinda weird.
I don't know the summoning timeline of fate zero, but If kariya didn't add mad enhancement, he would've summoned saber lancalot, and kiritsugu wouldn't have summoned saber artoria, and without lancalot going berserk and wasting his mana he could've survived to save sakura, its just a therapy tho, an anime theory!!
Okay! Wanting you know you did excellent job! and I be looking out your others video and give you good reviews and maybe questions! Thank you for everything!! PS What do you think of Kariya Matou? I wishes he had good ending..

- He died of body failure after a years of fasting and abstinence and three months after gwen's death.
punkmaster258 The important part is he dies with regret.
OtakuDaiKun well can't deny that fact but it was more of seeking redemption for the rest of his life. Basically he live the remaining years and died just like Kiritsugu Emiya in the actual legend
I love this story, and what a wonderful storyteller you are!
ayyyyy the best knight thank you for doing this
I know all berserkers are supposed to have a tragic story and all but I feel Lancelot's is one of the saddest ones. :'(
As a child, Lancelot was always my favorite Knight of the Round because of his extreme skill and also swords are cool.
Lancelot is my Top Favorite of the Knights of the Round Table. I hope we see him again in the Fate series in the Saber class shown in FGO.
when it comes to memorable berserkers lancelot is among the top 3 in my book, right behind fate apocrypha's Frankenstein's monster and above heracles
Seirra Moon I like Fran.
The only servant that could use a SMG, a Sniper Rifle and ripping out the M61 Vulcan of the F15J fighter jet while piloting it and using the jet's Vulcan gun.
Catch 22 the character, how sad.
Sir Lancelot one of the coolest member of the knights of the roundtable. Dude did go through a lot even in the fourth Holy grail war
Berserker Lancelot is just one too angry to die servant like Hijikata.
Another great video.
Keep up the awsome work.
Can you do Gilles de rais sometime soon! I absolutely love the story between him and Jeanne d'arc and his transformation into bluebeard the fate/zero caster!!
TarouMaru Kichi He's definitely near the top of my priority list.
OtakuDaiKun AAAAAAAA ITS GOOD TO KNOW YOULL GET AROUND TO HIM THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
Why is Lancelot constantly surrounded by infidelity?
He's French
i don't get it
Maybe if he wanted to avoid it he shouldn't indulge in it, lol
okay now i know why your in the corner
The joke is that french people indulge in debauchery.
I wonder if this video will get a view jump when the quick meta hits na
I think you just made mashu pissed
Now THAT was a story. I love the Nasuverse.
The title made me think of something else.
"BRAVE, BRAVE CONCORDE, YOU SHALL NOT HAVE DIED IN VAIN!!"
"Um, I'm not quite dead, sir."
One of Lancelot’s abilities is that through the influence of a command seal he can disguise himself as any of the enemy servants.
eli otero This is true but I couldn't find an event where he actually used it in Fate.
Kariya used 2 of his command seals on Lancelot to take Iskandar’s appearance to kidnap Irisviel in Fate/Zero
Oh yeah. That's a solid point. I don't recall them, at least in the anime, tying that back into his story since they were waiting to do the big reveal later on.
"Son of Ban and Elaine", wait a minute..
Miguel Álvarez right?!
huehuehue
Lance a lot is the son of Ban and elaine wow plot twist for the Sins
Damn this was pretty deep and sad and the same time
Please make more of these, i'm addicted.
Renovartio1000 I'm gonna do em all in time.
That sounds lovely, but i just noticed something. I don't remember you saying what other classes he could be summoned into. Can he not be summoned as a sabre?
Renovartio1000 I'm sure he could if not for the mad enhancement.
my third favorite Servant
Happy New Years and congrats on 20k subs!!!
Dude, too soon!
I love ur lore videos
KiritoSmite Thank you^^
Another great lore video. May I ask, are you going to do the Fate/Apocrypha servants or the Fate/Extra servants next.
Lincoln Beckett-Scott I'm gonna do them all but FGO is last.
OtakuDaiKun dew it.
OtakuDaiKun just curious have you read fate/strange fake?
Ggerson270 Not yet.
I’m curious about a specific character which you haven’t done a fate lore episode on. Okita Souji. He was a police officer commander/Samarai/swordsman/bad*ss. I want to know more about his background so if you could, please make a video on him... her.
Ost?
Finally thank you !!!
Just out of curiosity, have you thought about doing an updated version of this Lore video to include Saber Lancelot’s role in the Camelot singularity?
Probably not for him. Most of the time their past is the most important part.
well to be fair, there nothing interesting going on during his time as saber aside from being a successful knight of his time to the point of he almost considered as the king's 2nd in command culturally speaking, being ladies man to the point of Elaine drugged him Talia Al'Ghul style and giving birth to Galahad to having a secret affair w/ Guinevere, and how he flipped Galehaut to defect to King Arthur's side and ruled Galehaut's fortress and changing its name.
That's not even true lol
that's a propaganda
You forgot the part where he chases the enemies with a jet and suddenly starts using a gattling gun to kill em all
They should make a movie about this
My favorite servent next Is cu and saber alter.. he a SAVAGE BERSERKER!!
Jon_ oVo I prefer his Saber version because he is Dadcelot.
Hi I like your fate lore videos. So when are you gotta do a lore video on Gilles de Rais and Hundred-faced Hassan?
eli otero Gilles de Rais will be my next upload. Not sure when hundred face will arrive.
Merlin next? Really like him
how does this man looks so different then his saber form?
Completely different artist and a haircut.
that dude looks like gil de rais in fate
After this I'm starting to believe that seven deadly sins is a setup for the next Arthurian series
Thank you.
Do Jeanne d' Arc next then Gilles :)
I come back here once a year to bitch about how zerkalot still hasn’t gotten a buff in FGO. Beowulf has 3………
*kishi our no hokori plays*
*i cry*
Would have been better if you actually quoted him on "our kind does not understand the human heart"
Lancelot,s Ulti is so op
The chemistry between him and Gilgamesh always puzzled me
Born out of chance, or did their army collide with each other in the pages of history?
Or maybe he just saw him as a worthy opponent?
Probably because a berserker can't show him any respect. Gilga wants to put him in his place.
WHEN will we see an anime all about Arturia's reign??? I would pay well for that shit.
Ban and Elaine's child??? Now i see the relation ...
RIP JASDF F-15s and its Pilots.
Depressed Pilot They were just trying to stop the giant alien creature attacking the city lol
0:22 what’s the name of the ost?
It's from the 2006 Fate Stay Night anime.
None would happen if Lancelot just keep his own love by himself.
have you ever thought about adding subtitles?
XAWES Its not the first time they've been requested. I don't have a ton of help but it's something I'd like to add.
Like if you guys want lancelots np changed to Just standing there using the gatling gun. To lancelot jumping to a jet and gunning every enemy as the jet passes by.
His favorate color is blue
It's a good thing he's sure of it too.
Please do all the Knights in general
Poor guy.
One word: AAAARRRTHURRRRRRRR
Still Waiting for Type to reveal Cu Chulainn's True!Berserker form (The unnervingly deformed juggernaut described in the Ulster Cycle).
quipper That sounds awesome.
There's still plenty of figures from legend/history known for their violent rages who haven't yet gotten adapted into the Fate canon, and yet they put characters like Lu Bu and Darius - people who weren't prone to such fits - into that class. Kinda weird.
quipper I think lu bu is appropriate from what I've played of Dynasty Warriors.
OtakuDaiKun
I think being a treacherous asshole was the bigger claim to fame than raw craziness on the battlefield.
liked your voice, and I wish there got subtitle.
That would definitely have been a sight.
why did I type therapy lol
@@A_itsar autocorrect?
I hope FGO could make "Berserker" Lancelot being uncorrupted
Yay Lancelot from fate zero !
I don't know if you allow recommendations but can I suggest Jack the Ripper or Edmond Dantes (aka Count of Monte Cristo)
When does he force a banana to rotate?
Huh?
@@OtakuDaiKun m.ruclips.net/video/fGTXTzAvthM/видео.html
@@TheSnakemanOfTheNorthwest No friggin clue. It sure is funny though.
So this is the son of the Sin of Greed
Wait his parents were named BAN and ELIAN 🤯
Yes seven deadly sins is about Arthurian legend
Just out of curiously how did Kariya summon Lancelots? What catalyst?
Van Dang Damn I forgot...
That okay it possibly from Kariya summon Lancelot based of his personality just same way Ryuunosuke summon Caster? You think?
Van Dang It's plausible but I'm sure there is a definitive answer as well.
Okay! Wanting you know you did excellent job! and I be looking out your others video and give you good reviews and maybe questions! Thank you for everything!!
PS What do you think of Kariya Matou? I wishes he had good ending..
Van Dang Well I think he's a noble soul but really messed up when he lost his cool and strangled Aoi. Can't really forgive him for that.
So basically the only reason Lancelot lost was because saber had plot armor x)
yassine el khettabi Well his master was running empty on mana and he himself was overcome with madness.
Saber would've recked if she had Avalon though.
@@remak6342 berseker is Undying
Otakudaikun. Don't you think that Lancelot seems like an anti-hero servant by summon? Because i do.
Jamal Davis He definitely doesn't get the best historical rep for that bit at the end but often times he's remembered as a good knight regardless.
OtakuDaiKun. Honestly though the series is called Fate. Therefore i know that when a heroic spirit is summoned forth; they'll be given a second chance in at life. And in those moments of life their convictions or able to be redefined if not outright changed by not what i would master; but a comrade. Not because they're legends are etched in stone and so to are their summoners by connection. In the progressions. Do you understand me?
Ps. Those were my personal thoughts about Fate.
OtakuDaiKun. I feel same about Nero and Mordred. Also Tamamo-no-mae.
Lancelot is basically the god of Crits :P if you have 15+ crit stars and you have him you're one-shotting most bosses. FGO players will understand.
