All I'm saying is Bishop said what he said he should have stood on it. He finally got one right... We are only 16 days In have mercy...smh Lord help us come on church.
I disagree, no one is above scripture. Bishop Sheard was out of line for commenting on the Murphy situation - especially considering that TCS and Kierra have both teetered the line at times between integrating sacred and secular influences into their music. Bishop Sheard has been humbled, checked, and corrected - and he knows it. That is why he apologized. Furthermore, He is called specifically to shepherd COGIC - and he needs to focus on doing just that. COGIC has been plagued with abominable scandals for years as well as financial impropriety; they can't even locate the original church constitution. The organization is a mess.

You are right I Talked to my sister and it does hurt.I've been in the COGIC all my life, my mommy dad, my grandmotherly sisters .I din't like the way he did that.I'm sooo hurt, but telling the truth is what God want us to do.In our young people bible study they asked all kind of questions and we answer.I tell them asked me anything,I'm 74 years old nd have seen a lot and know a lot abut the streets before I got saved.I do agree with you and that's my bishop.But truth is what we need.
A lot of people stop going to church is because of husbands and wives co- pastors with their whole family in the pulpit ministry, and secretly on church salary.

A church is NOT TO BE a family dynasty. Just because you're called to ministry doesn't mean your children are. You've taken away their choices as to what they want to do with their lives. This First Lady and First Family mess, what's up with that? The wife used to be just "The pastor's wife". Where I attend church that pastor no longer sits in the pulpit but on the main floor with designated seating. Nothing on stage except the worship team until they're finished, then the announcements are made, The choir comes onstage to do the special music then go offstage when finished then the pastor ascends to the stage.

My mom and I have been lifelong members of thr COGIC.
There was a time when my mom was a paid pianist at a Severe Day Adventist church.
Each Saturday they posted the offering collected the prior week.
They posted when they'd reach the goal for weekly offering and when they fell short of the goals to meet thr church's needs.
Having been a COGIC member for 63 years, since birth, I've never seen this done in our churches.
I use to teach 0:51 Sunday school, painted the Church and Sing in the Church with some of my childrens but when I got sick. Lord have mercy.

Bishop Sheard is correct. The church has a different sound, Bishop Murphy, brought secular sounds into the church and sanctuary. I was proud of Bishop Drew Sheard for bodly rebuking the nonsense. We need to pray that our leaders have the courage to speak truth and stand on holy principles regardless of people's opinions. We, the Church of God in Christ, must stand against all unrighteousness within and without the church .Saints must be unapologetic for speaking out against sin.let us pray for all our leaders to be strong of good courage. 👍

The reason I haven't been to church is because of how much Bible I learned when the church was shut down because of covid, when you go to church and hear sermons about what Moses, David and Paul did but get no expository teaching there's nothing you can do with that and it's the same types of repetitive sermons week to week and I also came to understand that a lot of stuff that is done in church comes directly from the catholic church, things that Christ never intended the church to do or be. I know there's no perfect church but I am yearning for a good fellowship.
Even though you're reading and study the Bible on your own at home, which is an awesome thing but, Hebrews 10:25 says, “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
@slimdude2011 in my studies I've also come to realize another issue with the church is that when Hebrews 10:25 is quoted much of the emphasis is placed on meeting in the building on the corner, but the church is not where you fellowship but who you fellowship with and as I commented earlier I'm yearning for a fellowship rather in a building or in someone's livingroom I prefer outside of a building
Greetings Elder Jones. It can be challenging going to the physical building for worship these days especially when you're not sure what going to come out of the mouth of the pastor. I love worship and the physical fellowship with the members. There is no perfect church until the Lords return.
I Vehemently Agree With Being Safe To Ask Questions “ABOUT ANY AND EVERYTHING!”
Everyone has to have their own reason for being a member of the Church. I have not been hurt by the church, because I was not there for people, but God was my focus. The churches I joined, God lead me to them. I was in all the way, (most of the time). As I grew stronger in the Lord, I was able to see and know when 😢 something was wrong . I guess what I’m saying is, we have to stand before God for ourselves. We can’t point a finger at no one. Also, I studied the Bible for MYSELF. If I didn’t understand something I asked someone more knowledgeable than I. Also, we have the Holy Spirit if we belong to Christ. We have no valid reason to LEAVE THE CHURCH. ( Just my opinion).
Truly that's just your opinion. People do get church hurts and leave the church and you can be all in but Satan also has his workers in the church to do his work. Everyone in the church is not living for God and don't know God if they don't know God and don't love God how can they know how to love and treat people the right way so they hurt people from the pulpit to the door and I know I am right about that so that's my opinion

The God of the Holy Bible doesn’t lead people into church. Our flesh leads us into these churches. These churches and ministers are workers of iniquity. The God of the Bible leads you to his Word. He leads you to worship in Spirit and in truth. He calls his children out of the world and the Babylon church.

There are some leaders of the church view a question as rebellion.
The number one reason people are not going to church. Because GOD SPIRIT IS not there. GOD said I will Build MY CHURCH. Man have built HIS CHURCH. GOD is not going to rain in anything man built. GOD is a HOLY GOD. Man is Unholy. So man can’t build anything for GOD to rain in. GOD said you must worship me in spirit. Not in a building

I stopped going to church because there are more wolves in sheep’s clothing. I want to gather together with other believers seeking and praising the Lord as one spirit. Both White pastors and black pastors are falling. We as a body need to come together in one accord no matter race or background. I went to a church in Oklahoma and before service he had a talk about the finances of the church what was taking in and what it was going to ( repairs,salary, a check and balance) and if the pastor needed a raise the church elders decided but behind the congregation, and your right churches don’t have a HR department,but I think that falls on the elders, but always with the backing of the church, good solid church all around that was so many years ago, today I can only imagine if they kept the same formula that started at that church and I’ve been to a few and still looking 👀.This was a great video SWJ. It’s okay, God is changing the face of the church without our permission. The Holy Spirit spoke to me 15 years ago that he was “changing the face of what we’ve been calling church, and when he’s done, it will look nothing like what we have been calling church.” So, get ready for the face lift for the church, the Holy Spirit is doing it even now. As far as J Drew Sheard, It really doesn’t matter. It came at the time it did because it was supposed to, maybe God was orchestrating it. It still applies no matter what, the Holy Spirit makes waves with out our permission. No such thing as coincidences. Praise God. Furthermore, What “sound” and “noise” was he referring to ? That spirit is creeping into the church because his wife and sister-in laws ( Dorinda, Twinkie) is dancing with the world, dancing with the devil more precisely, they are the problem also.

My brother your demonstration spiritual and personal integrity we can’t backtrack and cover sin because we are fearful of what the backlash might bring somebody’s wrong and the Bible is right keep up the brilliant work. trappings within the church.
It's the messages and dispatches coming from the pulpit that matters.
I think comparing to the caliber of women of this culture, hearing a woman "black woman" it is refreshing and eye catching....unapologetically!

What I have noticed is that people go to church to worship the Bishop, And Pastor and Praise team now. They have made the leaders over the Church their own personal God. It's not about worshipping Christ and denouncing sin and submitting one's life to Christ. It's jumping up and down shouting, bouncing around, dancing, running up and down the isles and The praise dancers taking over the service. Then after all this foolishness is over, you get 25 or 30 minimum of a sermon. It's all show time at the church now, lights, camera and action. You don't feel nothing holy or natural within many churches anymore, like in my childhood Pentecostal upbringing in my life I came from as a child in the 70tys and 80tys. It's very disturbing what is happening within many churches today and this spirit strays people away who are really searching for a word of God and teachings from the church, based around Christ and holiness. Sinners can't even identify what is holy from many saints anymore and this is when we know, there is a serous spiritual problem amongst the saints of God. I am searching for a new church home right now within my Northside community in prayer before Christ right now. My former Pastor supports the LGBT community, let's them preach in the church and he supports women's rights to abort babies and tells his parishioners it's okay to own your own Marijuana distribution center, like the white folks are making millions off of doing. So, it was time for me to move on and this year I did and seeking a new church home in River North now. My Pastor marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in the Civil rights movement hand and hand for years. I don't know the falling away is right now. Smh!. Help us all Lord!

Some churches like mine (San Francisco Temple C.A. St. Louis MO) has a Wellness Ministry where the evangelists and ministers will talk and listen to you if you need someone for that and they will share a Word of God with you so you can get closer to Him spiritually. We also have other ministries. During Bible Study there can be an open discussion on ordination or who gets ordained or who doesn't. Christians can feel safe asking questions and referencing scriptures.

Asking questions is important an you may think it may be silly to you, but if you dont know you really should ask, thats why i like, at my church we are encouraged to ask questions every week before bible study an answered according to the bible, if he cant answer it at that time, next weeks bible study starts with that unanswered question

I'm not trying to throw some Church under the bus but I removed myself and started teaching my childrens at home. On special program at the Church I was there to support my late Husband who was a Social Pastor.
A God-fearing bishop would have taken William Murphey to the side and corrected him whether he liked it or not period. Then help guide him in the right direction and made him repent in front of the church. Then prayed then got him on the alter and tarried until he received the Holy Ghost. They used to do that back in the day.
I miss Bishop Patterson. That’s all I’m saying.

I don’t think ppl were gaging her intelligence by her gender as much as how spot on she was about how church issues should be handled. She just happens to be a woman. They would say the same about a man if he spoke objectively about matters traditionally thought to be blasphemous.
I asked questions about tithing in my church along with concerns about modern day “tithing”, my Pastor wrote me a 25 page rebuke! Then he publicly shamed me on a facebook video. Although he didn’t “mention my name”, I KNEW that message was about me! Yep, I was done. Unfortunately, I have not been very active about jumping back into another church. I’m very discouraged 😢
That was awful. Ask God to lead you. The COGIC is influenced by the world and its traditions. Money hustling, celebrating pagan holidays, christmas trees all in church and on the altar, idol worship.

@@slimdude2011 I asked if it was something required for New Testament Believers, or if it was under the Mosaic Law and the sacrificial system. I was told not only should New Testament believers in Jesus Christ tithe, but 10% should be the least amount we give! He expected much more than that!
@@aprilcumberbatch2958 Tithing was under the law for Israel to help support the priest, who couldn't earn any extra income. In the New Testament, we're under grace. There is no scripture that requires to pay tithes on ten percent of your earnings. We are to give freely from the heart, which means an offering (not tithes). II Corinthians 9:7 says- So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

I can honestly say your doing a lot better with your son's long hair and drinking because I have a hard time accepting that with my nephew. My son very modest but my nephew's hair is so long that I want to cut it myself😄 but he doesn't drink around me so that's a good thing
