Cool video brother ...I got a question...besides harmonic balancer...bolt ...is there a rubber seal that has to be bought? If so which one do you recommend? Thanks in advance
I drive the car all the time and haven't had a problem. Technically you don't have to buy a seal but you may as well put a new one in, and I just went to napa and bought one they had
I did, not too bad at all, I bought the kit, the problem is having the space to drill without removing your fans, I have a drill that is compact and can get into tight areas. If you don't have a compact or right angle drill, you can purchase a Dewalt right angle adapter from Home Depot for $20.
@@SeaMonsterFishing answering this for future reference but on the automatic, the pulley will spin. Need either the starter lock down or other means of keeping it from spinning.
good video. Took my balancer out and found something none of the many videos I've watched ever mentioned, On the crankside of the balancer I found a shim/ seal . Since I’ll replacing the stock balancer with a better grade one ( summit ) I am curious if that shim/ seal needs to go back on . The shim part is about 1/10th mm thick . Anybody have come across this and what was done ?
@@mickfree I purchased the ATI Super Damper. I like how it was built and there is no way it can come off due to the design with the O-rings. It's also serviceable. I didn't pin it because I don't race it and am not going to put a turbo on it but if I do it can be pinned later from the front.
you're pretty dumb if you think this a a money pit comapred to any of its competition that need 30 000$ engine rebuilds as maintenance instead of a 400$ crank pulley.
Very informative! People don’t understand how different the c5 to c6 is. Also a lot of people go to the trouble taking to sub frame off.
I need to do this but I really don't feel like doing it 🤦🏾♂️
You didn't show it, but did you RTV the keyway in the Summit HB before or after putting it in the oven to heat up?
Why did you replace the thermostat whats the reasoning behind it ?

@@SeaMonsterFishing thanks a lot for responding brother ... Have to do this in my 2005
Takes me just under 4hrs which includes pinning the balancer. Easy job
Where are you located
After installing your balancer and stock crank seal did you ever get an oil leak?
No
Did you pin the balancer to the crank?

After this months how is the summit racing HB working??
On the automatic does the starter need to come out or will the torque convertor hold it still?
Iam not sure, I would imagine the parking paw inside the trans would keep the drive train from rotating

With 235 ft lbs of torque is it possible to push it too far back?
I don't think so. It's a very tight fit so it won't go on but so far.
@@SeaMonsterFishing ok thanks,got it done.

I didn’t see one.unless it stayed in and I missed it.I just pressed the new summit one on.
Which Summit harmonic balancer did you buy?
Im interested in purchasing this balancer and also did you pin it?

Can you get the ac compressor out with this level of access?
Did you ever find out if it’s possible to remove?
@@bernal_vlogs Not yet, I'm dreading the ordeal but need to get to it before summer.
