    Take out the two bolts for the A arm on each side. Top A arms. Passengers and driver and the shocks and loosen steering shaft . Loosen the cradle bolts 4 of them. Not all the way. Keep the nuts on to drop it 1/2 inch or so. Than take out 2 motor mount nuts and raise the engine so the harmonic balancer nut clear the rack and pinon shaft. also take out only one hydraulic connection next to the balancer bolt. This way you drop the cradle a little and raises the engine up to clear the rack and pinon. Also you may put good quality 2 piece Timing cover so cam swap be easier next time.

    Don't worry about how loose the tie rod nuts are. They don't need a ton of torque because they're under insignificant load. All they do is push and pull the knuckle in and out to steer your car, which doesn't take much effort when it's moving

    Since the crank pulley is now smaller, did it affect the voltage that the alternator gives out when idle?

    Great video man, very nice work! Just wondering why you used a factory GM bolt and not an ARP?

      Thank you! Just using the GM bolt right now cause I had an extra one. I'll be doing the cam swap this fall/winter and replace it with the ARP.

    Any overheating issues dude to the UDP? I hear a lot of issues with having it and not sure if it’s worth the trouble.

      Not that have experienced yet, I also haven't had the chance to really push it or sit in traffic yet. I can update for sure though.

    Did that pulley come with a alternator pulley? Or did you reuse the stock one man. Any charging problem?

    • @MitchCarveth
      @MitchCarveth  2 года назад

      Sorry for the late reply, it did not come with alternator pulley. I haven't had any charging issues yet just a little overheating issues but go that squared away. I am looking at different alternator pulleys just for peace of mind though.

      It's a Milwaukee M12 ratchet, probably my favorite tool aside from the lift jacks :)
