We're back with another episode of Ryan's personal recommendations! This August, we explored a range of cuisines-from Teochew to Vietnamese, and even Hong Kong delicacies. With so much delicious variety, choosing our favourite dish was no easy task. Tune in to see our dilemma and discover which one took the top spot! Wah siao liao. Hey kee is really one of the best restaurant in Singapore. All the food is damn good. Now it’s going to be more popular now and difficult to make a reservation. The crab tang Hoon is the bomb actually
I'm Vietnamese, and I agree that An La Ghien is really the best spot for Vietnamese food. The taste is like 98% the same as what you'd get back in Vietnam. Also they have a way bigger variety for us vnese than most other places that just stick to the usual dishes like Pho, spring rolls, or banh mi. 👍🏻
i wish Get Fed could feature that one shop that serves the seafood porridge that actually made all the OG food king hosts speechless...remember guys that episode, when Dee Kosh made a Sean Conery impression on that dish? hahahahahhaha
FYI, crabs are usually deepfried as 1st cook in Chinese restaurants. How do you think black pepper crab is cooked? Boiled in black pepper sauce? Same way prawns are deepfried too.
I know of a restaurant that will put my recommendation at top 3 if not top 5 of leaderboard. Bonus: their orh nee will beat Songfa Signature & Yat Ka Yan as well. Bring me on the show!
Hey Kee is really good. 避风塘 is a common cantonese style of cooking seafood. Can get chef to serve it with a side of porridge (had it in HK) so those garlic and caipoh dont go to waste. Perfect combo!
i think most places have to deep fry their crabs before cooking in a sauce( for certain cooking styles /flavours ), its just a chinese cooking technique that locks in the juices and flavour.
@@overkillsingapore you can go major canto restaurants eg: imperial treasure, crystal jade palace, wan hao Marriott (some times not in menu but can order), I know 泉记Zhi char at lower delta also serve 避风塘cooking style seafood.

Feels like Hey Kee is Ryan's only genuine ultimate favourite for this episode. The other two places just feels like it's sponsored.
Don't know is suaku or what, A LOT OF crab dishes in SG are deep fried before being tossed in sauces and stir fried again...

Have you tried Hup ka Foon? Their chendol wins yat ka yan hands down
Top 10👍🏻 want to see you guys live man
Cantonese cuisine is definitely another level but too bad so underrated unlike that one dimensional Korean food
Some Chilli crab Restaurants have been deep frying the crab for years..
