Hello Richard! You were destined to be on RUclips. It's great to see you continuing to put out good content! Besides the light colored neck and the headstock shape, this looks like a decent guitar!
Hi Dragan, Thanks for the kind words. Not had I of these before so thought I’d do a quick share, good guitar but not for me and not what I ordered either 🤦🏻♂️
Hi James, Just dipped my toe, habit! Had some a-holes since turning notifications back on so might just crawl back under the safety of my rock. As for andertons, they need to improve
Hey Rich, nice video as always. Ah, the Chapman Gold Top is an interesting beast....! The new ones are reduced at the moment to £350 at Andertons. I'm tempted - it's quite an unusual looking LP style guitar. I'd never heard of the one you actually wanted from 2016, but now I know about it, wow. That is a cool guitar! Seymour Duncans as stock etc - very high specs. I guess at £350 the new one could be upgraded to a similar spec without too much extra outlay. I had a quick look around for the old one and for your info, there is a 2016 gold top on sale on Reverb at the mo for £500. Not bad, but it wants picking up only from Leeds.
This one here is still a nice guitar and £349 is a great price. You should try one, think you’ll like it. The original one is just a different beast altogether and yes, quite pricey now. Thanks for the nice words and for tuning in ☺️
Great to log on tonight Rich, and see you again! You're a solid Cat! As for the guitar.... I like it OK. Different. Interesting. But meh. Especially if that's not what you ordered! I know you'll get it sorted out tho. All the best, Brother! Edit: KILLER high-gain tone on this one! I dig it with that guitar. A little delay.... and BAM!
Hey Jimmy, good to hear from you, thanks for the kind words. This guitar is not a patch on the original that they advertised, it’s ok but just ok. Pickups seem good though.
Hi Rich, not sure Andertons are allowed to advertise something then send something else !! Maybe they need to review their stock order systems and advertising haha, good to see you back on the tube btw.
I love my 2018 Chapman Ghost Fret Pro; it's an excellent guitar for the price. Chapman has an excellent product line that is affordable, but I am selling mine now because I scored a French One-of-a-kind $5000 Sauvage/Wild Custom Guitars Axe for $2300. It has a stupid name, but plays better than any other including Gibson. I've been playing for 30 years and swear this thing caresses my hands while playing itself. For under $1000, Chapman makes a great guitar.
It looks awful, doesn't sound great either; you can get a lot better guitar than that for 500 quid, in fact you can get a much better guitar than that for half that money.
I've got a Chapman ML3 and it's a nice guitar but yeah, not worth the money. I've since got a Harley Benton that was half the price and plays much nicer. The Chapman even needed me to level a few frets which were high from the factory. Wouldn't get another one. At least with HB you know it's a budget brand so take a punt.
That's the thing with Chapman guitars. They've attempted to position themselves as somewhere in the PRS ballpark, but with the exception of their British Standard models (which flopped on their arse owing to their limited appeal and optimistic price point), they are knocked up in the same factories where Jet, Fazley, Harley Benton, Donner and Glarry guitars are made. Now within that sphere of manufacture, there are still some better than others, as the companies which make the orders for their particular brand set their respective required specs in terms of hardware, components, wiring and levels of QC, but... CNC cutting of parts has levelled the playing field as far as most things go to the point where - wood type aside - any sub-two hundred quid guitar is so well made these days that it can be made into a great guitar with the addition of a few after-market parts, and some of them don't even need much of that doing. Don't get me wrong, you still need to put some Grovers or Klusons on them to have them be really usable, but everything else you might need to change is not expensive at all considering you can use 25 quid Vanson or Warman pick ups and have the things sound great. I've got quite a lot of guitars from Gibson, Fender etc, but to be brutally honest some of the cheap ones I've got (including some HBs and Fazleys) blow those flashier ones out of the water. The Fazley Midas I have easily stacks up against my Gibsons and is in fact better than some of them. Only a logo snob would say my Gibson LP was better than that Midas, and considering it cost me 123 quid delivered, I don't think I'll ever be buying another Gibson unless they get real with their pricing, which they won't of course. @@noggintube
Really good to see you back on Rich, hope Andertons sort this out for you.
Thanks Graeme, I’ll let you know how they respond

Doesn't sound too bad that guitar 😁
Especially when you turned the high on at 4:36 🤘
If you only paid £350, it would be worth keeping.
Yes, I think £350 is about right 👍🏻

This is the second time too! Bloody irritating. Not sure this is a return as such but had to share this experience 👍🏻
Nice to wee you back. Would you say them pick ups are voiced more for hi gain Rich ?
Thanks Simon, they are yes but with some volume and tone roll off you could get some softer tones

That sounds super fancy!! 😃.
I do love a chapman, had more than 30 of them now and enjoyed nearly all of them.
Thanks for tuning in, appreciate it
I quite like the look and sound of that guitar, wouldn’t pay 500 for it though 😂👍👍🤠🎸
Me neither!! 😂

Agreed!! The original is such a better spec and looking guitar, so disappointing
