Can you please show me in the Bible, where it says that you cannot wear a crop top, leggings, or fitted clothing. The Bible does not give these specifications when it comes to modesty. This is what man has decided is immodest due to misogynistic views and judgement. I have an amazing relationship with Christ, and I completely comfortable wearing crop tops and shorts and leggings at appropriate times.
I like how you say “where does it says crop top, leggings or fitted clothes.” That’s like me saying show me where it says not to use fentanyl but many of us do not use it because we know the harmful effects and that would be destroying our temple. If you don’t like old time modesty- just say that but don’t sit here and play on words like your REALLY going to find a specific, call out scripture for clothes we wear now vs. during Victorian periods and earlier.
@Daughter of Yah thank you for saying that ...that saved me some words...it don't matter how we explain it, people will still say we are judging and justifying their behavior..I guess when judgment day comes they gonna tell God the same thing..so so sad
“And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.” 1 Timothy 2:9 NLT What would you yourself define as appropriate and decent clothing. Wear that
I believe that as a Christian, the question you should be asking yourself is that; will God like it if his daughter is dressed like this? Will this dress i am putting on glorify God? Remember that in all you do, it must glorify God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 ❤️
We have to be real with ourselves. To be a Christian is to deny thyself .....that's why it's hard....we all know crop tops and super tight outfits are to show off our shape even if it's comfortable.....we are not supposed to make the bible work for us but work for the bible
Umm I’d have to disagree as a young Christian who’s been on that side. As I became more experienced in the faith, the closer you get to God the more uncomfortable you become “showing “ your body in public
As a Christian, I think we can be real about how some peoples idea of modesty GREATLY changes depending on the woman’s bust and booty size. The same tight t-shirt is modest on an A-cup, but “too much for church” on a double D. 😕
Facts, girls in my school with double Ds get dress coded all the time without showing anything, vs girls with As (like me 😢) can wear the exact same top and it’ll be fine
Most definitely because I’m pretty busty and curvy. So I watch what I wear to church because I’m not trying to have the focus on me. Luckily I go to a non judgmental church. There are some curvy women that can’t help it. As long as we aren’t showing too much skin, we good. 😂
Y'all modesty means not being too loud and proud about one's self abilities. The synonyms for modesty are humble, humility, meekness, etc. If you dress for vanity purposes, regardless if covered or midriff, then you are not being modest at all.
I never felt that the older generation of women in church were being judgmental but simply teaching me about modesty. Having a shawl or cloth to cover your legs if your skirt is a little short when sitting in the pew was and still is modest to me. Now that’s what the Holy Spirit revealed & convicted to ME. I’ve never been one to flaunt my body (I’ve always had a big butt for my frame) butt my mom taught me to cover it to avoid men staring. I can still look cute and be covered. My husband will sometimes check me if I’m wearing something he deems a little too revealing or will catch a man’s eye. I don’t feel controlled by that but covered by his love and protection.
To be a Christian is not to have "your version" of modesty. Gods version of modesty is to "be ye holy, as your Father in Heaven is holy", (1 Peter 1:5) and "be set apart". If holiness is your aim, then naturally the Holy Spirit will lead you away from wearing things that show off every curve and skin that fosters lustful thoughts. Matthew 5 says if you lust after a woman, you've committed adultery in your heart. So if we LOVE our brothers as we say we do, then why make it easy for them to lust? Why help perpetuate an already overly sex crazed society? We are not to conform to this world but be transformed. And this goes to men too that wear tight clothes to show off their gym gains. Woman lust too. Does revealing, form fitting clothes make one think of God? No. The Bible says, "whatsoever you eat, drink and do, do ALL to the glory of God" It is a spirit of vanity, self exaltation and even pride that would make a Christian believe that this attire is holy, not the spirit of God. When the heart is truly submitted to living the will of our Creator and not self, the external appearance will follow, and justifications for these clothings will fall away. Lets be transformed by the renewal of our minds. Jesus is coming soon!
You’re right. My issue is that it’s difficult to navigate when men can be sexually attracted to your face, your hands, any part of you, and that some women’s shapes can’t be hidden no matter how loose their clothing. And I don’t think women dressing like men is the answer either. Not to mention men have hit on me when I did. Men have lusted after me online when I didn’t have a profile picture up. They can be intrigued by the ‘mystery’ too. I believe in dressing modestly, and I constantly reflect on how I wanna dress in the future, because I do love and trust God, but I don’t think we can, realistically, take full responsibility for a brother stumbling when these men have the spirit of lust on them, they don’t pray enough and they don’t learn to avert their eyes and hold those thoughts captive. That said, I do think we should all be more honest with ourselves about our intentions behind how we dress
Yes girl you get it . Check out Pastor Gino Jennings. After my child father passed 1 month after he was born I humbled myself and prayed to God to send me in the direction of someone who truly walks with him. 2- 2 1/2 weeks later I landed on his telecast/ broadcast and couldn't turn so I pressed it and every question I ever had about the bible was answered and the private question I asked God to know it was him was answered too. Changed my whole life.
That's cute I think it's possible to mind your business as well ,does her wearing those clothes affect you mentally emotionally or psychically. no I don't think they do
Thank you, i feel like Christians have lost modest traditions (we used to wear head coverings too until the 19th century) but of course modesty is for everyone.... God bless u
@@eliltaliya the idea that christians have lost modest traditions is purely a protestant idea. in the orthodox and catholic churches, men and women have been dressing modestly since the beginning.
I’m sorry but I’ll have to disagree. We definitely have to start speaking truth and judging our brothers and sisters with righteous judgement to help them (not bashing them). But yeah right is right and wrong is wrong. Even in the gym, as a Christian we shouldn’t be wearing bras and tights. (I’m 19 and still struggling with modesty as well. Not because I believe it’s not wrong, but because I know it’s wrong and I’m struggling to let that worldly part of me go). The closer you get to God the more your views change into his and you’ll be after his heart not yours. Modesty is cover skin and not have clothes hugging your body. You can still be cute and modest without every curve presented. But we cannot sit here and try to bend the Bible into our perspective and teach it, that’s a dangerous game. Your leading others astray and to whom much is given much is required. Our bodies are temples of the Lord and for our husbands. Not eye candy to whatever man we happen to pass. Please sister we gotta do better. Yes I said we because I’m not perfect and I struggle with the very same thing.
yep you are totally right. And our part as brothers and sisters in CHRIST is not to bash but to educate. I love the way you've presented your point which is fact.
I see it as the closer you draw to God, the more He convicts you about things. It could be different things but He’s always working on His time. I dress modestly but seeing others, Idk what’s going on there. I pray for them, if the Lord leads them to ask me questions, guide them but ultimately that’s the Holy Spirit’s job
I agree w/ur bold ‘obviously’. U said ‘too much’… too short, too low or too tight is a personal choice but modesty means decency. And I agree, the beach, gym or spa is decent, in ur house for ur husband’s eyes is decent…. & yes, modesty is for men too.. too tight around their jawn or their pants hanging too low... hmm. So I agree, it’s not just a female thang.
I really don't think 'just bc it's not church' is a good excuse. Because if you're a Christian that you believe that Holy Spirit is inside of you and God is all around you all the time. I personally don't care what anyone else wears I'm focusing on me and my relationship with God. But the reason why the Western Church is so weak and has no power (Spiritual power i mean, so many are stuck in bondage and are lukewarm) is bc of cop outs thinking God just stays within the 4 walls of the Church
Don't wear anywhere else what you can't wear to the presence of God. If you have the revelation that you are the presence of God, you'll understand my point.
I think a lot of people say stop judging me because they do not want to change. Under no circumstances is a crop top modest. Wear one if you want to, but don't claim modesty on it. It's also funny how you say don't have this old lady church mentality and judge people but then say if someone feels like wearing the dress with only a nipple cover they might want to check their relationship with Christ. I can also ask you why are you judging them and feel legitimate to then
we do modesty for Christ, so we should do modesty according to His preferences. we do as Christ wants us to do, or what He says is right, not what we think is right. ❤
I hear what you are saying. But something that "Christians " tend to miss is the part where it's not about us, it's about the Glory of God. Though we are in the dispensation of grace dosen't not mean we are to go out there and look like the world bcus of our personal style. If its immodest it's just immodest. No one should ever wonder if you are a woman of God and that's why the world takes us for a joke. You never have to ask whether or not a Muslim is a muslim whether man or woman. This is for both men and women who proclaim to be believers practicing believers at that. This generation needs to remember that the tone has been set, he is the same yesterday today and forevermore. You cannot come making your own rules just becus this generation is more acceptable. There is a reason we are to carry ourselves in a way that brings glory to God. And guess what if you cant go to Church with it then you shouldn't be wanting to go out into the world with it. Becus the body is the Church. Put some respect on Jesus's name and stop doing what you please. Like the songs being played. These songs dnt uplift jesus or bring anyone closer. We ought to study his word and do as he pleases. God bless
If you look up modest dressing it definitely does not describe crop tops. She can wear her crop tops but it’s not modest dressing. Todays world stay trying to change the definition of certain things.
Certain things? The way I see it, they're trying to change the definition of nearly everything. We're in the last days and just as it says they'll call good bad and bad good. It feels as if we're living in an upside-down version of what the world was just one generation ago.
Modesty is not just clothes it is a mindset. You are modest because you are supposed to be separate from the world and obedient to God. So please check your hearts and intentions behind why you put on those clothes👀❤️ Of course it doesn’t say “don’t wear leggings” but does the Bible need to say “don’t do crack” for you not to do crack??? And since it didn’t list a particular TYPE of DRUG that mean that drug is NOT PROHIBITED ???Like that’s the logic she just used. There is a thing called righteous judgment. Trust me there were a lot of things I was doing wrong and if people didn’t righteously judge me I would still be doing those wrong things. Not directed at the girl wearing a crop top but for this topic in general… I think the issue is that people want to be half way in the world and half way in the church and that’s not how it works. Hopefully we get over this being offended and trying to justify our actions when it’s written plain and clear in the scripture and also not being convicted over something doesn’t automatically make it not a bad thing. Once you grow in Christ you will see that you are out of order. I pray these young women receive wisdom to help them make better choices ❤️
I think we need to stop changing the definition of things. I think that's a great place to start. Modesty incorporates many different elements, from behaviour to appearance. Modesty aims to avoid an overly sexual appearance and behaviour. Showing your belly, shoulders, and cleavage is sexual. It's not modesty. With that being said, do what you want.
It’s so sad, how we coin feedback as judgment. Nobody can tell anyone the truth and I’m saying this as a GenZ. People in my generation, just cannot take the truth without saying "oh well, you’re judging me." There is a difference between right and wrong. We can’t blur the lines between everything because it may rough people up. If people in your life refuse to tell you the truth, they don’t love you. Obviously there's a way to convey the truth. I'm not dismissing people being disrespectful or rude. That's sinful as well. But if people in your life don't tell you the truth, those people are not believers and they do not love you. There’s no “version” of modesty. Modesty is modesty, simple. We don’t all get “personal versions” of modesty. I tried biker shorts on recently and although they were long and I planned to wear a big hoodie, I did not feel comfortable and I felt the Holy Spirt saying no. Deep down, I knew it was immodest and that’s why I didn’t buy them. I was on my college campus and it was heartbreaking to see all these girls walking around in glorified undergarments and some of them claiming to be believers. We all know what modesty is. I’m not saying that we need to cover our ankles and knees. But showing cleavage, torso, and your bum isn’t modest. If we were to walk into a room with Jesus, would he be proud of what we are wearing? For 99% of the outfits that I see both online and in person the answer is no. I had to drive three hours out to a boutique to find a pretty dress for my pictures. I was just talking to my other Christian girlfriends and they were just talking about how hard it is to find appropriate clothing that is cute and feminine. These clothes are being designed for a reason. As consumers, we influence supply and demand, and our spending choices influence the market. If we start buying more modest clothes, trust me, companies will start to manufacture and sell modest clothing. It’s sad to see the amount of tight, short, and intentionally exposing clothing that is being sold to young girls. You said “there’s plenty of ways to show skin.”Why as women should we even want to be showing skin? The term “personal conviction” is honestly being used as an excuse to not follow the Bible wholeheartedly. There are many instances in which I have worn athletic clothes to church. Sometimes I go straight to the gym or training afterwards and I have no place to change so I have to wear my athletic gear. I've never gotten weird looks because my outfits are modest, and appropriate in all settings. There's a big difference between clothes fitting an occasion and clothes not being modest. Let's not end up putting someone in hellfire because we want to lie to them. It's better to tell our fellow sisters the truth than to lead them down a path of destruction.
As a Christian to me, modesty is covering your private parts and not showing too much skin. But when going to church it I best to cover cause it's church and not a party. We should learn to dress according to the occasion. I can't wear my diva dress to a funeral. I agree with what she says.
Modesty is Biblical it is not based on some type of hyper-religious reaction nor is it dictated by present culture 1Peter chapter 3 and 1 Tim 2:9-10 speaks of it and it's not any one person's perspective on modesty is but on a standard prescribed by God for how men and women who profess Christ as their Savior and Lord should represent Him and the Kingdom of God.
Modest is hottest. I get what you're saying, I am a Christian myself & have a love for the smaller & tighter the better ... but as a Christian, why? Would you wear crop top to kick it with Jesus? Nah. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. It's not being judgemental it's keeping it real
1 Timothy 2:29 esv/ Deuteronomy 22:5 ESV/ 1 Corinthians 12:23 esv/ 1 John 2:16 esv/ the book of Enoch is a great reference to why we should not partake in a lot of things that the world does Romans 12:2esv (Romans 14:13 esv this verse just basically says if we put stumbling blocks etc if what you wear or do cause your borther to sin you should avoid it but Just based on the word that’s what I get from it! I’m still trying to figure out the best path that is righteous but the original Hebrew Bible and things that show the history of what believers of God should and should not do it’s hard to find but we should be set apart. That’s all but just putting this out there. If I find more scriptures on how we should present ourselves I’ll post it 😁 hopefully that’s a way to look at it plus the Bible is accent but still alive that it won’t say specific because all of these things weren’t a thing back then but God will reveal to you all what you should and should not do 🤍
Modesty is the same for all people who claim to be a believer AND follower of Christ. There’s many different modest styles that all have 1 thing in common, NOT showing off body shape or skin… Christians are normalizing being lukewarm , to show off their bodies cause they love the attention.
Let’s just be real. To be a Christian is to deny yourself. I seen one person in the comments get this right. You showing to much leg(that’s not modest) to much breast(negative) can see your underwear line(absolutely not) dress to short(denied). People try to choose what they want to be modest, but anything that brings too much attention to you’re flesh or draw men to you in a to much lustful way, NOT MODEST. And on top of that, If it stops you from getting a Christian husband, that proves it all
Modesty is not different for everyone…she is not modest and she knows better as a Christian….period. Something’s u just can’t fight love lol don’t defend a blasphemous woman like that pls
Yess girl as long as our intentions are pure and we aren't tryna show off our selfs for men but just trying wear it cause it's cute than we shouldn't be judged
Pure intention or not, If God says it’s wrong and you go and do it because you want to and aren’t willing to *deny yourself and pick up your cross* and cause a brother in christ to stumble, then yes you will be judged.
When you become a true Christian, the Bible will convict your heart. That being said, you will transform all areas of your life. There is no in between or doing things based on opinion. Modesty is a show of reverence and respect for the Lord and your temple.
Y’all need to study the bible more. It’s not about what you feel it’s about what’s the word of God. Right is right, wrong is wrong. Wearing a crop top is a sin, as is openly judging her for it instead of guiding her to the Lord with scripture
The point is if the way we're dressing catches a man's eye and he commits fornication in his mind then we are just as liable. Men need to learn to keep it together but we should also not leave temptation. Cleavage should be covered, no peekaboo outfits (seeing a lot of peekaboo in baby swimwear), no shorts splitting your cheeks. I don't like men looking at my body so I wear a cardigan if I do wear a crop top. It is about your conviction but some people have no problem dressing like harlots so it is also about what pleases God.
If our bodies are the temple of the HOLY SPIRIT (church), how can we dress a certain way for a physical building but not have the same respect when we leave it? If it’s not ok for church it shouldn’t be ok for any/ everything else 💛🙏🏾
I'm a Christian as well and I agree. Personally I would wear a super cropped shirt but that's mostly because I'm not comfortable in that and I grew up wearing very modest clothes. But as long as my private parts are covered
It needs to be private parts and excessive skin. We shouldn’t be walking around with our upper thighs/lower butt showing just because our privates are covered.
we all gotta learn to ignore the enemy's attacks and let the Lord fight our battles. God got us and He will convict our hearts as He sees fit. thank you Jesus for your loving grace and mercy.
As a Christian there are many scriptures talking about what we should stay away from and while it doesn't state don't show this that and the third. It is evident where she is in her walk. She's dressing for the world but calling herself a Christian. We are are supposed to be set apart from the world not conformed to it. Her outfits are pretty but definitely not appropriate. She is looking for attention and the is not Christ-like.
Nah, modesty is a heart posture. The problem is people make is all about clothes. It's about humility 1st and foremost. When you get closer to God, He changes your heart and as a result your desires and actions change. You do things to honor God and that includes how you dress. Lots of people dress to impress others or glorify themselves and not God. This can be done even if you're fully clothed. God looks at your heart above all else.
Why are women being attacked for not dressing modestly? And men showing off their chest cleavage 🤣. That's why I do not associate myself with man made institutions that appease the few and opress the majority... People have the right to dress however they feel comfortable and stylish , whoever has a problem with it it's their problem not yours... Yeah I do believe their dress codes for a reason like visiting ama khaya(villages), going to Church, School etc...
“I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes” (1 Timothy 2:9, NIV). “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
People should just worry about themselves and stop worrying about what other people are doing. Your Their relationship with Christ is the only thing they should be worrying about.
Your fruits are a telling sign of your relationship with God. If your fruits don’t align with the word apparently your relationship isn’t that Good. (I’m still struggling too so I’m in no way pointing fingers) but the Bible also mentions judging our brothers and sisters with righteous judgement to help them.
Exactly everyone is different then these are the same people that wondering why people hate them so much it's disgusting I'm Christian but I'm not religious this is exactly why because stuff like this people can wear whatever they want especially if they're grown simple.
as a christian i think that with this society and generation that no matter the religion as long as you respect it and others then you shouldn’t have to dress up for others that believe old “rules” of that religion. i’ve been told a lot on what i could and couldn’t wear just because of my religion but i respect my god and know that he loves me no matter what i wear.
The fact that you said your a Christian then went and said “my god” says enough. And no we can’t just wear what we want to wear. Modesty isn’t for “other christians” but for ourselves, our husbands/wifes, and God. Your mindset and logic is already flawed if you think covering up your body is “dressing for others”. And respecting “your God” would mean you respect his words and dress how he says we should sister
@@IAmNiyahSimoneThat's true and I agree! It isn't just to respect others and ourselves but Father. Our body doesn't belong to because its a temple of Father. He has the rights to ever speck & fiber of us! So we can't exactly go around dressing in super short shorts nor a top that literally has half our breasts exposed. Your point is fair I believe❤
“Come out from among them and be ye separate says the lord.” Is what the Bible says, as Christians, we have to set aside what the world does, and do what GOD wants us to do. Think, if Jesus was here, standing in front of you, would you really want him to see you with your stomach hanging out, skin tight short shorts, etc? If you crossed over, and stood in front of God, would you really say,”I don’t think modesty is what people say it is”, your opinion doesn’t change what GOD says! Brothers and sisters, don’t listen to people who say things like “that’s old lady mentality”, we are called to be different, and represent Christ, don’t be like the world and follow their examples, follow CHRIST, be DIFFERENT, be HUMBLE, be MODEST, be who God called you to be!
Your eyebrows look great. I agree girl. I mostly just dress down for safety when I go out. There are some men act strange. I was thinking of trying etsy but I need to research more cause they have plaid app. I need a online bank that works with them. Any advice is appreciated. God bless you!
@Patrice Ayana amen! well said. I won't let anyone keep me from being in God's presence. and God is everywhere but it's something about that 2 or more gathering ok hallelujah. I feel such peace.
Modesty is not a "version" The Bible says clearly what modesty is. It's not that complicated. Keep covered and wear something that doesn't bring the wrong attention. The reason wome wear reveling clothes literally speaks for itself 😐
i love how you do all these things on your own instead of spending all this money at these business’s. One of my friends is like that and that’s the wave i’m tryin to be on, do my own hair, nails, eyebrows etc. saves you so much money ❤
As a catholic, I think that crop tops are fine as long as they are worn as more of a fashion price as opposed to something to just show off cleavage. They are totally fine if they still don’t show most of your skin ❤️
Yes I agree 1,000 percent, as a (PK) oh yes I know all about the old fashion judge-mental Christian’s! I come from a whole family of pastors, ministers, evangelists, and etc!
Its because we have to represent christ and how can we represent him with our bodies causing others to lust and stumble we both suppose to cause temptation
Do not make up a personal version of God, people do not have to believe what is to be true in the Bible because certain words won’t be written the same because from the 1700s up words have been changed, added, created crop top leggings, etc weren’t a thing in history not just biblical but historically speaking. Women wore dresses men wore pants. But to each their own. Revelation 22:18-19 Deutermony 4:2 Proverbs 30:5-6 This all I got lol I’m still doing my research for my own personal spirituality with the LORD. Be blessed all keep growing in Christ 🥰
If your fruits ain’t matching then that’s a tell tale sign ya relationship with God ain’t that good. They don’t effect your relationship with Christ but they sure do mirror it.
Not a Christian but I used to be one but I’m not going back. the Bible talks a lot about modesty and a lot of Christian’s twist those words and pick and choose what they wanna remember you guys know tight and revealing outfits for men and women are against it and you are wrong and it’s not my place to decide but you can probably guess what I’m gonna say…
Frrr! At church someone had the audacity to meet my mom and tell her to tell me to wear a dress to church next time. It's not like i even wore leggings it was jeans. And her dress was wayyyy above her knee. LIKE GURLY DON'T
As a Christian I really don't care how other dress God told us to love others and judge our selves before others I don't remember him saying anything like oh no too much Ankle showing
As an ex Christian ( muslim now ) I think you’re absolutely correct because the same way that I believe that we shouldn’t be attacked for wearing or not wearing hijab or niqab I also don’t think that people should attack people for wearing what they want to wear just tell men to lower their gazes
That’s like hitting someone and telling them to not get upset that you hit them. Or better yet, pushing someone off a cliff and telling them don’t don’t fall even though you just pushed them. If you cause someone to fall you will be judged as well. You don’t get the right to do wrong and pin the blame on someone else when your the reason foe their fall.
@@IAmNiyahSimonethis part right here! It's worse for those who knew the truth(Christianity) and departed from the faith. Christianity ain't a religion, it's a way of life;ZOE;the God kind of life!
In black african churches the main point on clothes is to be dressed well because church is the house of the Lord. That’s why it is okay for girls and women to be dressed with fit outfit, if the outfit is still elegant. But In the same time in white churches everything you describe happen. I think modesty is more a cultural thing than anything because it is more a western standard of church more than religious ore related to faith
Modesty truly is a personal relationship with yourself and god. I personally still wear floor length denim skirt and refuse to wear a tshirt without a cardigan. (I wasnt raised religious either so not learnt) i dont judge other women and their modesty or lack of. I think modesty trascends clothes, its also in how you act, see others, your habits. It transcends clothing.
Gave my life to Christ at 14, was a carnal believer for the most part until recently (turning 40 soon). When you are fully led by the Holy Spirit then believers will realize what’s modest and what is not modest. Now I have zero questions about what is modest. Are crop tops modest? Yes if paired on top of a dress, otherwise no.
This is why our faith is not being taken seriously. SMH. This mentality of “you do what you want and I do what I want” instead of obeying God. SMH. Women of God should not be wearing tight, body curves showing clothes, not should they wear crop tops and tops that show cleavage. It’s just basic logic if you don’t wanna be a stumbling block for the brothers. And actually respect yourself and not portray yourself as sex/lust object. Why would any true Godly women wanna wear outfits that show off her body? Like.. isn’t she much more than her body?? Ask yourself this sisters.
God bless I think it is important to think about helping other people not to sin by being modest so keep it in mind when you think if what to dress that’s what i’m trying to do ❤️
Question for some of y’all in the comments, are shoulders immodest? Based on what I’m seeing in the comments tight clothing , tights, leggings, all that is immodest? I get crop tops but do we need to be covered up completely or something? Confused honestly I’ve heard not even shorts are ok , anyone have any scriptures to back this all up. I get we shouldn’t cause other people to sin but if the person is sinning that’s their fault not just ours.
The only thing that gets me with people who talk about modesty is that they follow one part of it, but not all parts. The same Christians who will talk about a woman or man "showing skin" are the same ones who wear expensive attire, even if it's for their birthday They wear Gucci, Fendi, Prada, expensive jewelry, etc. They wear hair jewelry, color their hair, etc. The Bible also say not to do that, but everyone just focuses on the "showing skin". Also, showing skin is not sinful. The Word does say to be "shamefaced", but that doesn't mean that I can't show ANY of my skin. People take things too literally and way too extremely. The same women who will speak against "showing skin" are the same ones who don't cover their hair/heads in prayer and in church. You can't focus on one part and not the other. And as already mentioned earlier, modesty is instructed for both men and women in the Bible, not just one or the other.
I used to wear leggings and short shirts alot until i had a dream that was given to me by TMH God. So i stopped wearing them as pants. After some time, i was given a dream about showing every bump on my body... After hearing those words i woke up. The words you speak or hear someone else speak right before you wake up from a dream is normally a msg from TMH. If you seek him on how to dress, he will give you an answer.
I actually love this channel there is some white people I know who are like my hair is natural because it comes out of my head and I was able to explain everything through it videos
As a Christian and so happy and proud. Modesty for women is not for us its for men. If you are safe and in a safe environment. Then do what you feel glorious in. In hindsight. I personally am far more beautiful than I think. At this point I want floor length skirts and the thought of a face veil is appealing. Why because some men are savages. And I would rather be unappealing. Keeping in mind women who wear mesh over their eyes are raped. I hate the lack of respect, values, and morals in some people today.
Beautiful eyebrows! I know everyone is different and is convicted about different things. But the truth is the truth no matter how anyone feels about it. It’s not our job to police others people’s modesty. It’s our job to seek the truth from God. That’s why I’m always praying for clarity and understanding. Lately I find myself feeling very uncomfortable in clothes that I used to think were modest enough. I was not expecting that.
Appropriate: Or “respectable.” In this context, the Greek word used suggests dress that would be considered honorable and proper. Such attire would be suitable for one who professes to be a minister of God. with modesty: In this context, modesty includes taking into consideration one’s own conscience as well as the feelings or opinions of others. A modest Christian would avoid adornment that is considered indecent, that draws undue attention, or that is likely to offend or stumble others.-1Corinthians 10:32, 33. soundness of mind: Or “good judgment; sensibleness.”-1Timothy 3:2.
1 Corinthians 1:29-31 KJV [29] that no flesh should glory in his presence. [30] But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: [31] that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Modesty in Christianity means that you must wear non revealing clothing. If you really wanna get into traditional Christian dress for women you would be wearing a baggy full one peice dress long sleeves and wearing a veil. Men are expected to grow long hair and have beards and wear non revealing clothing. This is in multiple verses and the bible is clear that women need to dress modestly your legs should not be showing and nether is your stomach. Mens modesty and clothing is in levitcus 19:20. Timothy 2:9 mentions womens modestly expectations. If you wanna talk about traditional Christian modesty for men and women go to Africa or the middle east and go into a Assyrian Orthodox church and see how they dress. They dress like ancient Christians, men wear robes or baggy pants, and women wear dresses with a a veil. You may have a relationship with god he has one with everyone but you are not a Christian unless you act like one or dress like one. Many traditional churches wouldn't even let you in the building dressing like that. It may not seem like a big deal for you but the whole point of being Christian is to not be of the world. We do not follow modren worldy fashion trends. This is how many Christians are rasied and they will nag you on it which they should. Many Christians have fallen to the world and its trends such as pre martial sex, non modest dressing, drugs, and hate. You can come back from all that and leave it behind you but don't expect to be treated like a Christian if you don't dress or act like one.
wearing immodest clothing that leaves no mystery to the body is not what christianity teaches. i know the struggle tho, :( i am growing in my faith & i have a hard time liking many modest clothing options... but i do desire to dress modest bc that is what glorifies God the most. dressing in a way that makes your body look "sexy" because you are showing your body is the opposite of that. this is one of the crosses we must carry in order to follow Jesus, surrendering our desire to fit in with everyone else who dresses to glorify their body shapes. i also love wearing a lot of makeup, but i am working on trying to be more modest for God. it may be difficult, but i will give up anything for God because my own desires are not what i idolize. God's will is what i live for, not my own.
That’s girl was not modest and modesty as a Christian should be base on what the Bible has to say about it. Sorry my dear, it’s God will be done , not my will be done. Yes , we all have personal style, but we as believers we can work on it; why being modest in the Lord eyes or according to God will. If you let the Holy Spirit leads , he will direct you on godly modesty.🫶🏾🙏🏾
Same thing happened to me, which is why I stopped fellowshipping with my old church and opt for online sermons from different pastors.
@@Sylvrss1 exact!! 💯💯

People need to stop saying in my opinion and use the Bible. It tells you how to dress. It has nothing to do with your opinions.
This!!! Opinions won’t cut it when your eye to eye with God one day. We know dressing like that isn’t right
Thanks❤!

“And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.”
1 Timothy 2:9 NLT
What would you yourself define as appropriate and decent clothing. Wear that
how does it say to dress
If God says it, that settles it. Opinions, thoughts, feelings, none of it matter. It is what it is.
Exactly, we can’t go before the throne and say “well God everyone’s opinions are different”. Cause that’s not gonna cut it.

exactly. these people defending immodest clothing know deep down they're wrong. I used to be one of them
So let God tell her not you y'all wonder why people hate y'all so much
I believe that as a Christian, the question you should be asking yourself is that; will God like it if his daughter is dressed like this?
Will this dress i am putting on glorify God?
Remember that in all you do, it must glorify God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
❤️
We have to be real with ourselves. To be a Christian is to deny thyself .....that's why it's hard....we all know crop tops and super tight outfits are to show off our shape even if it's comfortable.....we are not supposed to make the bible work for us but work for the bible
Exactly, modest clothing is something that not only “doesn’t show skin” but isn’t too tight enough to where every curve on your body is seen.
Amen amen
THANK YOU!!
Agree
Exactly.
Umm I’d have to disagree as a young Christian who’s been on that side. As I became more experienced in the faith, the closer you get to God the more uncomfortable you become “showing “ your body in public
Yes!!
This is so true! Ever sense I've turned to Christ i haven't had a desire to show my body in such a way.
It's a body in clothes please grow up imagine judging somebody because of clothes that's so embarrassing and then wonder why people hate y'all so much
REAL
So true..
Sorry her version of modesty ain't modest. But doesn't make her bad just shouldn't be an example in my opinion.
Yes
Absolutely
Oof! You’re not shooting blanks but you’re correct!
As a Christian, I think we can be real about how some peoples idea of modesty GREATLY changes depending on the woman’s bust and booty size. The same tight t-shirt is modest on an A-cup, but “too much for church” on a double D. 😕
Facts💜
No
Facts, girls in my school with double Ds get dress coded all the time without showing anything, vs girls with As (like me 😢) can wear the exact same top and it’ll be fine
Yeah. Consept of modesty is such a bs. And how people bend it. How people make things sexual. Its disgusting
If you dress for vanity purposes, regardless if covered or midriff, then you are not being modest at all.
facts 💯
Factual. You sound like a beautiful lady🖤
exactly facts.
Same here❤️
Amen dear sister in Christ!
No. The Bible says, "whatsoever you eat, drink and do, do ALL to the glory of God"
It is a spirit of vanity, self exaltation and even pride that would make a Christian believe that this attire is holy, not the spirit of God.
Exactly on point girl ❤🥰🥰
it is NOT JUDMENTAL when u call out IMMODESTY!!...this generation call WRONG RIGHT & RIGHT WRONG!!!...IT IS NOT OLD FASHIONED TO BE MODEST!!!
AMEN!

I think it’s possible to dress cute and still keep your body covered.🙏🏽❤️ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
I agree
Aww I think it’s possible to mind tour business

That's cute I think it's possible to mind your business as well ,does her wearing those clothes affect you mentally emotionally or psychically. no I don't think they do
As a Muslim women, thank you for bringing up that Modest Christians exist people always forget our modest sisters. God bless you
Thank you, i feel like Christians have lost modest traditions (we used to wear head coverings too until the 19th century) but of course modesty is for everyone....
Agreed people try to twist the Word of God and make it fit for their lifestyles
Amen!
yep you are totally right. And our part as brothers and sisters in CHRIST is not to bash but to educate. I love the way you've presented your point which is fact.
Amen!
No lies detected!!! Amen!!!!
I agree. Modesty isn’t a 90 yr old thing. It’s more of a respect thing. We dress beautifully for a wedding… God, deserves it much more 💝
I see it as the closer you draw to God, the more He convicts you about things. It could be different things but He’s always working on His time. I dress modestly but seeing others, Idk what’s going on there. I pray for them, if the Lord leads them to ask me questions, guide them but ultimately that’s the Holy Spirit’s job
Very true 👍, the closer you get the more he convicts you.
Agreed ❤
Just as long as it’s not showing too much, obviously, and that you’re not attending church in those outfits, *obviously..*
@@hannahbringsglory I agree, I don’t care what someone else wears bc only God has the right to judge… and of judgement.
I can also ask you why are you judging them and feel legitimate to then
Exactly!!
Modesty isn't a "personal conviction".🤦🏾♂️ Either you're modest or you're not. Simple.
we do modesty for Christ, so we should do modesty according to His preferences. we do as Christ wants us to do, or what He says is right, not what we think is right.
God bless
Amen
If you look up modest dressing it definitely does not describe crop tops. She can wear her crop tops but it’s not modest dressing. Todays world stay trying to change the definition of certain things.
💯
Certain things? The way I see it, they're trying to change the definition of nearly everything. We're in the last days and just as it says they'll call good bad and bad good. It feels as if we're living in an upside-down version of what the world was just one generation ago.
@@anonymouse867 very true.
PERIOD
Modesty is not just clothes it is a mindset. You are modest because you are supposed to be separate from the world and obedient to God. So please check your hearts and intentions behind why you put on those clothes👀❤️
Of course it doesn’t say “don’t wear leggings” but does the Bible need to say “don’t do crack” for you not to do crack??? And since it didn’t list a particular TYPE of DRUG that mean that drug is NOT PROHIBITED ???Like that’s the logic she just used. There is a thing called righteous judgment. Trust me there were a lot of things I was doing wrong and if people didn’t righteously judge me I would still be doing those wrong things. Not directed at the girl wearing a crop top but for this topic in general…
I think the issue is that people want to be half way in the world and half way in the church and that’s not how it works.
Indeed
I swear you guys are in a cult. Showing shoulders is bad? 😂😂
Not the sweatpants 😂 you right tho. Them men know what they’re doing 😂😂
this got me 😭
The fact that you start with “I Think” makes ur opinion highly subjective.
If YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, modesty is defined by Scripture, not culture.
As a Christian I really wanna know what your opinion on "judgemental" is
I’ve noticed she takes offense to correction and doesn’t like when people call out things that are wrong…
@@carnettawilliams9013yes she’s deleted my comments before when I was proving what she said wrong on another video
1 Timothy 2:29 esv/ Deuteronomy 22:5 ESV/ 1 Corinthians 12:23 esv/ 1 John 2:16 esv/ the book of Enoch is a great reference to why we should not partake in a lot of things that the world does Romans 12:2esv
(Romans 14:13 esv this verse just basically says if we put stumbling blocks etc if what you wear or do cause your borther to sin you should avoid it but Just based on the word that’s what I get from it!
@@IAmNiyahSimone you've got it right! Amen! ♥
You did a great job on your eye brows! ☺️
Modesty is for HIM (Christ) and immodesty is for myself.
There’s only one way to dress modestly, not versions of it. This world accepts everything not true. You don’t show skin. It’s that simple. Smh.
Exactly
"Don't judge someone because they sin differently than you."
💯
for islam it’s relatively simple, no skin, no tight, tight clothing. unless your like under 6-
As a Christian I can’t take people serious who claim to be Christian but talk shi about people 24/7! Don’t judge others
As a Christian I can’t take people serious who claim to he Christian but cuss and can’t control their tongue! See how hypocritical that is?
Thank you Queen!!! Your so wise
Yes thank you, I quit going to church bc of the judgy old timers.
There are judgy people everywhere and you can’t escape them so please don’t allow anyone to stop you from going to church. Pray for them ❤️
@Patrice Ayana amen! well said. I won't let anyone keep me from being in God's presence. and God is everywhere but it's something about that 2 or more gathering ok hallelujah. I feel such peace.
So you stopped going to church because you didn’t want to stop dressing immodestly and when people tried to correct and help you, you refused?
@@AlmondBean730 that literally is what she said. My comment just has more context to it, don’t be naive.
Modesty is not a "version"
The Bible says clearly what modesty is.
Do not make up a personal version of God, people do not have to believe what is to be true in the Bible because certain words won’t be written the same because from the 1700s up words have been changed, added, created
crop top leggings, etc weren’t a thing in history not just biblical but historically speaking. Women wore dresses men wore pants. But to each their own.
Revelation 22:18-19
Deutermony 4:2
Proverbs 30:5-6
This all I got lol I’m still doing my research for my own personal spirituality with the LORD. Be blessed all keep growing in Christ 🥰
Remember: Clothes don't effect your relationship with Christ!!
Is that what the Bible says???
Remember: God created us naked and unashamed. 👍🏾 The bible literally says that...
@@BklynBabeso walk naked then
If your fruits ain’t matching then that’s a tell tale sign ya relationship with God ain’t that good. They don’t effect your relationship with Christ but they sure do mirror it.

Christian women shouldn’t wear crop tops
Hopefully you come back to God though. Jesus Christ is the one and only true savior.
God bless
I think it is important to think about helping other people not to sin by being modest so keep it in mind when you think if what to dress that’s what i’m trying to do ❤️
Modesty is Modesty, but that doesn't mean judgment is okay.
Righteous judgement is okay, not bashing. Those that did bash her as “Christians” should be ashamed. We should teach in love not hate.
@@IAmNiyahSimone yes, I absolutely agree. Sorry, i should have specified. 😅
@@laylahutcheson3859ohh okay😭I apologize as well
Question for some of y’all in the comments, are shoulders immodest? Based on what I’m seeing in the comments tight clothing , tights, leggings, all that is immodest? I get crop tops but do we need to be covered up completely or something? Confused honestly
I’ve heard not even shorts are ok , anyone have any scriptures to back this all up.
And modesty is almost always pushed or forced on women and it's starts as young as ten. Everything gets over sexualized.
It's okay to wear crop tops just not in church...inappropriate to be overly exposed in church
Why not?
@@AlmondBean730 exactly !! 💯
I'm a christian, and in my opinion wearing crop tops is not like good but like just showing a bit of your stomach, i don't think that's bad🤷
😂... "You might want to check on your relationship with Christ"
God said not to wear things like that. So for a Christian to wear something like that it doesn't make sense 🤷🏿♀️
Side note, I love the green dress she's wearing. Does anyone know where I can find it ?
I think how you dress as a Christian has everything to do with you and your relationship with the Holy Spirit
I pray your relationship with Christ continues to grow.
Everyone should dress modest . Those things should not show sir 😮😅
I also use that method, for my longer hair brows to be in check 😁
ITS NOT JUDGMENTAL IF ITS TRUE JOHN THE BAPTIST DIDNT HOLD BACK WHEN TELLING THE PEOPLE THEY WHERE WRONG
1 Corinthians 1:29-31 KJV
[29] that no flesh should glory in his presence. [30] But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: [31] that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Its not based on you personally if the bible says dont lie you dont it doesn’t depend on your conviction if it says be modest it says be modest
