@@dfchang813 Yeah, I've had such an experience with some pieces too. - Obtaining what we deemed impossible to obtain for some time, is part of what makes this hobby so intriguing. By the way, I love how much you go into the history of these pieces and hope you'll review some more LOTR pieces in the future.
The smaller balrog is not bad ether. Its just not as big or grand as this. You are one lucky SOB to own something like this. This piece is sought after by many.
I agree and it’s been a 20 yr dream of mine to finally see this in the flesh. It does reflect the time it was produced though. Quite small and the factory paint is rather dull and simple. But what can I say? It’s a daddy Rog. 🤷🏻♂️😅
Excellent review on a classic piece. I just off chance took a look on eBay UK and found one for sale for 700 British pounds and another for sale for almost £4000. Crazy anyways, I hope you’re well. My friend I’ll look forward to the next one👍🏽
Thanks for the support as usual. Definitely have to be careful with this one as recasts do float around and there are the mentioned cracks in the whip and droopy take. 😅
Some may argue the point but there really isn’t any significant difference in my opinion. An Artist Proof is a little more rare and has a bit more cachet perhaps.
The "Daddy Rog" is one of the best! Congrats on finding one in this condition!
Thank you sir!
Such a great story! Thanks for sharing and congrats!
Appreciate it man! Thanks for the kind words. It was quite magical to finally obtain something that had been such a grail and a dream for 2 decades!

Which is the difference between artist proof and standard one? In terms of quality
