Those rooms at the Blue Swallow Motel are so adorable. I lived on Route 66 as a child...not too far from Tucumcari. City of Natural Lakes Santa Rosa is where I am from.
My mothers uncle was a very successful big band touring musician (piano ) out of Dallas in the late 30s early 40s. He died outside of Tucamcari in 41 (his WW2) draft card had been filled out then labeled deceased - he was coming back home to Dallas from a summer dance gig in Albuquerque and the band wrecked in Tucamcari on 66. 3 survived , he passed. Have not seen this town yet being an AZ native but it’s I my list. I appreciate this video J. Thank you
I saw something funny. Picture of John Wayne in the barber chair. He was actually bald on top. Guess he just needed a little off the sides😂😁. Ive enjoyed this series. You go Jordan and Scott!!
Jordan I've watched a few other RUclipsrs over the years do the route 66 but I really enjoy yours and Scott's the best. I really love all of the little museums and historical places you've stopped off at. One thing I've always really liked about you Jordan is that you're like an old soul. I'm almost old enough to be your mom and most of your videos that I've watched over the years talk about people that I've heard about all my life and I really enjoy that. I love American history, roadside attractions and old Hollywood actors
Tucumcari!!! Yessss!! I have many awesome memories of that place. Several many times being on the road from OK to Vegas with my father, opting to drive versus fly. We spent the night in Tucumcari on the way every single time. That is good stuff
Jordan, you are so "into" everything, I am just in awe. Scott may be a little more laid back. Love all that you've seen so far, so much fun we're having. Thanks, and stay safe my friend.
Hi Jordan & Scott, Day 15. Another amazing day, I love the cars of yester year's. Your journeys are so fun. Thank you for all the awesome information, I feel like I'm on a field trip. My first car was a 1970 Chevy Elcomino SS. I loved it.
Cool room. You have to admit you don't find too many bathrooms complete with a rubber duckie. Lol. Lots of wind on this day. Glad you got to stay at the Blue Swallow. Thanks for bringing us along. I am really enjoying these videos. You and Scott take care.
This has been so much fun to watch. In 1964 and 1965 I did Route 66 trips with my parents and sisters from St. Louis to Arizona. Your trip has brought back a lot of great memories for me.
@@ShelleeGraham I'm sure we have photos somewhere...hopefully one of my sisters has them. Our first trip in 1964 was a family vacation and we hit all of the attractions along the way. In those days gas stations were full service and along with putting gas in the car, the attendant washed the windshield and checked the oil. Our second trip in 1965 was when we moved to Arizona and that was pretty much just driving and stopping to eat and sleep.
@@kstew4092 Please do let me know if your sister has them. My husband and I are looking for vintage Route 66 images from regular people, tourists from this time period. Thank you so much. Warm Regards, SGraham
Still enjoying the Mother Road! The car museum was as you said awesome, especially the '65 mustang they really know how to make those car shine! Just thought that was so funny hearing that bird singing Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Love the Blue Swallow. My grandparents took me on road trips from babyhood to my teens. We stayed in the motor courts and as I got older it was my job to look at the AAA guide for the motels. I remember no Holiday inns too expensive. This would have been 1970-1986 or so. Everywhere. The motel with the glass? I remember those because my grandma always had us close those curtains. Love the series! Michelle from Omaha
Jordan I really enjoy watching your video's your Route 66 is awesome I caught your Vid about shelly Winters and so enjoyed that one also. Keep up the great work.
It's a turkey! Jordan, it was a singing turkey, not a chicken. But, I know you knew that. So glad you're doing this trip. We're seeing practically everything. But that Scott is too talkative!😆✌🏻
Hey, I miss a couple of these. I live in the woods and was chainsawing a tree and it fell on me. I’m fine but was out of it for a couple days. GREAT VIDEOS!!! I wish I was young like you guys again.
It looks like the Blue Swallow Inn is holding up pretty well after all these years ! Thank you Jordan ! I am reliving my past enjoying you & Scott travels ! I have to say one thing different since my childhood was there were so many Native Americans out and about in front of and working in trading posts & tourists attractions, rock selling shops along the road even nobody hitchhiking anymore. Can’t blame them ,I have to say.
No 25 cent vibrating bed yet? 😂 Did ya take a nice bath? All them giftshops, I would have spent hundreds of dollars by now. 😅 Those beautiful cars make my heart melt, sigh. ❤ them. That motel sure is groovy, I dig it baby 😎. ❤ to you and Scott and Jah ❤
Every single day is an adventure something totally new and unexpected. Russell's Travel Center is the best jam packed. This road trip by far is one of my top 3 favorite trips you've done. Thank you both to you and Scott. Oh geez another El Camino. Can I tell you how much I hate those???? LOL

13:48 I stayed in the room behind that cowboy (Almara Inn) and ate at Del's. Sadly, it rained most of the time I was there, so I didn't get to explore much. That town has a vibe for sure.
Hey Jordan! I love this Route 66 vlog it’s great! I’m not sure if you or Scott follow other vloggers but I just looked at this guy Justin Root and he did a 3 part on the William Desmond Taylor case and I heard things I never heard before not sure if you ever heard it. I know you went to the lot where his house used to be now it’s a Ross. When you can check it out it really blew my mind! Love to Jah!
You two are having too much fun! The picture in your room, Jordan, we had in our living room when I was growing up. I spent many hours laying on the couch, looking up at it & daydreaming about what it would have been like to be at the old mill. What's going on tomorrow, my friends? Thank you! Papaw 🙏
You should go back to Tucumcari, but go a bit further to Logan New Mexico. That’s where Ute lake is and this place call the old country in boutique hotel is cheap affordable. The staff are really nice and the rooms are the best.
We have had a blast watching You & Scott! On this cross country adventure Thank's for all. Luv&Peace. 🙂✌🏼💫
Those rooms at the Blue Swallow Motel are so adorable. I lived on Route 66 as a child...not too far from Tucumcari. City of Natural Lakes Santa Rosa is where I am from.

The blue swallow is so great! A snapshot of a world completely gone, never to return. Love this 66 series Jordan, excellent coverage of the sites!
That motel was amazing! I have 3 chairs on my porch like those painted ones. They were my grandparents and are about 80 years old. Another great day.
I am really liking these adventures you guys are having. So cool!

OMG (even though no mention) Jordan actually showed something of the Beatles! But, as usual, Elvis also got in there again.
I really loved this video Jordan! I hope to see these places when I visit New Mexico.
there is only one place in the world I would like to visit and that is America and to see the route 66. Thank you Jordan
This has been so much fun to watch. In 1964 and 1965 I did Route 66 trips with my parents and sisters from St. Louis to Arizona. Your trip has brought back a lot of great memories for me.
Very cool that you drove 66 from STL to Arizona back in the 1960s. Do you have any photographs from that trip?

I learned to drive in a '59 Star Chief. It looked different than the '54. I called it a boat.

What's going on tomorrow, my friends?
Thank you!
Papaw 🙏
Be sure to get pie at little Pie town! How's your grandfather doing?
19:48 would be a great framed photo.
6:41 is Cyrus Avery, the Father of Route 66. (Not Henry Ford) Just a note to clarify. Thank you, Shellee G.
You should go back to Tucumcari, but go a bit further to Logan New Mexico. That’s where Ute lake is and this place call the old country in boutique hotel is cheap affordable. The staff are really nice and the rooms are the best.
That's probably why there are so many abandoned gas stations; those gorgeous old cars got terrible MPG compared to modern ones!
Love car museums, learned to drive on a carman Gia (sp) cool car
Fun.
Hiiiii❤❤❤
Cool 🥰
Cool!
I love the blue swallow, but don’t we get to see Scott’s room?
If you are one of his patreons.. he posted his route 66 videos for patreons
