So here is what ended up happening..
They had two memorials, a week apart, with the same exact flyer... since he lived part of his life in Sacramento, they wanted to honor him in both Southern California and northern.. I initially saw the date of June 17, and the location, amd saved the location on my maps.. when I went back to double check the date on the announcement, I didn't see there was a different address.. it just wasn't meant to be, I guess..

This is so sad that you missed Will's memorial. This Route 66 trip has thrown some lousy luck your way. It is probably little comfort, but this trip has proved to be a really outstanding piece of documentary film work. Our family have been following your channel for a few years now - all your work is entertaining and produced to a really high standard. However, for some reason this Route 66 journey has captured things that I never imagined could be captured on you tube (the excitement of the road not yet taken, the perpetual forward motion taken by past generations of people searching for a better life and, of course, the comradery between yourself and Scott through good times and bad). Although you started out on this road trip for the specific reason of attending Will's Memorial,
perhaps, in a way, the trip itself is a wonderful tribute to him.
Please don't feel bad about Wills memorial...maybe they had family travel issues they needed to work on and with him being so young , I am sure it is very hard to keep things straight...you can dedicate this whole series of videos to Will ..anyways remember him laughing and smiling is always better ...hugs Jordan ...❤❤❤❤❤

I've lived in the Albuquerque area for about 26 years now. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. I've driven past the Rt 66 Diner countless times but never stopped in. It's on my to-do list now.

I'm so sorry you missed Wills memorial. I think Alan Cummings post from earlier today says it best. This trip is the memorial to Will. What a beautiful memory. Wherever you go whether it's a road trip like this or seeing a new ballpark he will always be with you. I also want to say that this road trip has been just fantastic to watch & you have done such a great job finding all of the places for us to see & learn about & then your Jordan style of research & storytelling on each one as well. My dad was stationed at the Air Force base in Albuquerque. My favorite memories are going to Old Town, the state fair, and learning how to spell Albuquerque in the second grade!

You would love the inside of the Kimo Theater! It's really beautiful! Also supposedly haunted since the late 1950s by the spirit of a little boy who tragically died in an explosion. It's an interesting story you can find on RUclips. Great video Jordan!!

You should travel the old Route 66 sometime. Many of our small towns became forgotten because of Interstate 40. It’s a beautiful route. ❤

so sorry it didn't work out for your friend's memorial...but you know what, his presence is with you on your entire journey. You were thoughtful enough to write his name on Cadillac Ranch. Despite that Will's memorial was the reason for your trip, good things came out of it. You took all of us on an amazing journey, and I'm sure your bond with Scott grew even stronger, so it wasn't done in vain. You might have missed the memorial, through no fault of your own, but I'm sure Will's spirit was right there riding along with you and Scott the whole time. I know your actual trip is ahead of the videos that are posted, so I'm not sure where you and Scott are now, but stay safe the rest of the way!
Hopefully you make it back to Pennsylvania sometime soon...enjoyed your video on Hersheypark, since I live about 45 minutes from there.

Rte 66 bisected Albuquerque as central Avenue for over 9 miles. Obama gave the mayor $70M for an electric bus line. They proceeded to tear the 2 lane highway to pieces all at once putting hundreds of stores out in the cold.
That sucks!
