I bought a SU-G700 integrated amp. Everything said in this video is true and more. I think it’s also a best value for this high quality in sound and build.
For your next video please do a comparison between this and the Yamaha integrated amplifier of the same price point. Invite Someone else to do an a B test and get a discussion going. You guys have some of the best product reviews on the market; keep it up!
I probably won't be getting the Yamaha Integrated but we do have the bigger Yamaha seperates. The Yamaha has a more excited character to it, it's a bit more "fun," whereas the Technics leans a little airy but is ultimately more transparent. Excitement vs. truthfulness is the choice here.
Does anybody have a comparison between this and a Sansui such as a 717 or au d9 or a Quad 34/405/2 or a Technics se-m100 or other class AA or a Pioneer a400 or nad 3020 or anything else from older days? Am quite interested in this amplifier and would like an idea of tonal balance, dynamics and listening fatigue potential in relation to traditional stuff using cd’s as a source.
I compared this with my trusty McIntosh MA 6300 Integrated amp from 2010 and the Mac is warmer, almost tube-like....the SU-G700 is neutral especially with the LAPC speaker balance control engaged. I listened to the McIntosh and the SU-G700 with KEF LS50s and B & W 703 s2 Floor standers: I prefer the KEFs with the Mac and the B & Ws with the Technics. Just a preference. Also, the Technics is, in my opinion, conservatively rated at 70 wpc at 8 ohms because it was hardly breathing hard powering either the KEFs or the B & Ws. Highly recommended.
I have su g700 mk2, A 400 nad 3020 B, kenwood ka 4002 and technics su x9330. I can tell you that Su g700 definitely sound best from all of them . Maybe it's not the best in low volume like Ka 4002 or A 400 but amount of detail, large sound stage is absolutely amazing compared to A 400 , 3020 or 4002. Sound is on neutral side , sound stage is much video then A 400 or Nad . I love them all but for me Technics is no 1 , k3nwood 4002 no 2 ( 18 W of power) and Nad last place ( it will go soon)... and zero sound fatigue with technic
Tough choice, both excellent. Take the Yamaha for a bit more of an "exciting" sound or the Technics for a bit more neutral leaning slightly airy but not too bright.
Oh boy...that's a tough one. That really comes down to auditioning them both and following your ears. Marantz has a little more meat on the low end, but the Technics has this infectious air and ethereal quality to the top end.

If you connect a tv to this amp via optical cable can you change the volume with the tv remote?
@@the_maxx31 I have not tried to connect to TV.
How does it sound at low volumes?
@@abacar6134 Sounds pretty good, with clarity and dynamics. I use it in a medium-size room only at low and medium volumes.
This is the best review I have seen for this amp. Great job 👍
I love my black SU-G700. Very versatile, dynamic, and classy. Sounds great with vinyl.
I am getting this one to pair with the Wharefdale Linton Heritage speakers. Think its a great combo to listen to some nice vinyls :)
How does it sound at low volume’s?
@@abacar6134 sounds great, delicate and fast.
I’m on the fence between this and the Yamaha A-S1200.
That’s a sweet looking amp! Love the retro modern styling. 🔊🔊🔊🔊
Sure is!
@@GramophoneMD Hello, can you tell me if this amplifier will be able to power my B&W 683 2 speakers ? Thank you.
Technics has just announced the updated version of this amp - it will certainly be on my list as my next buy.
What an amplifier , 4 to 16 ohms , amazing power variance. 👏
Excellent review, excellent Amp.

@@marvinshaberesq.5072 Thanks for your reply (I didn’t get a notification for some reason) very helpful to know it can acquit itself well.
@@marvinshaberesq.5072 thank you! I just ordered this to use with my B&W speakers. Nice to see they pair well! 😊

So what is the power output 20hz to 20khz both channels driven? Its not listed in the specs.
70 watts into 8 ohms, 140 watts into 4 ohms.
Beautiful
on my short list....This, Hegel h190 or halo 6 for Forte 4's? Thanks!
Skip the Hegel is my advice for what it is worth.
@@GramophoneMD Thanks. Prob tubes for the fortes. How about the Hegel for Totem Forests?
great video, great amp!
AMAZING GEAR !!!
Does it has enough power for Dynaudio Evoke 50s (87dB/4ohm/260w IEC power handling)?
Yes.
Which one is better? This amp or the JBL SA750??
Very different amps. Not so much a question of better, rather a question of preference.
Great amp
Handsome. All jokes aside that was a great review.
It just is lol.
AS1200 or SU-G700??? That’s the question…

Great review!!! Please review the TECHNICS SEPARATES
Need that R1 review
@@isaacsykes3 Cannot guarantee it, but I'll see what I can do. :-)

Are you guys going to sell the SU-G700M2 in silver in the near future? If yes you already got one unit SOLD hehe.
I can most likely get anything Technics for you.
@@GramophoneMD well, I would like a SU-G700M2 in silver please!
