    Marie`s description of the ground signal was spot on. One further fact is the glass for the green light is blue and the yellow oil light made the glass appear green!

    Glenn & Marie- If you research that bridge area, I think it likely there was a major derailment there, based on the amount of rail car parts. Possibly cars or an engine went into the water there?
    We don't call the big wrenches 'spanners" here we call them 'Attitude Adjusters" . Great cleanup all.

      Yes graham, we phone the registrations into the police and of stolen they will collect, unfortunately alot of them are not stolen unbelievably and just get scrapped in

    We had canals in several northeastern states. To date, there are no groups doing your dipping into history. Find I learn something new each time watching a video. Did ride on a passenger steam train and was speckled with soot and cinders. My. Rainier has a group of the old trains. Logging brought about trains and tracks just built for hauling the huge, old growth logs. Be safe out there. Love the old spanners!😊

    Hello lovely Marie. Great finds guys. Sad to say that's not a train light cuz it would have a hole coming from the inside edge of the bowl. Even the old fire lantern ones would have an oval shaped hole and it would be more like a bowl. So that looks like a factory overhead light. But still great finds

  • @mharris6463

    The third mystery piece is a burner for a gas lantern either by the road way or in a train I believe.

    Why was there so much train stuff there?

    • @PeakyDippers
      @PeakyDippers  11 месяцев назад +1

      Carol, its directly by a old train Bridge, we think they took the trains apart when they were finished with them and just threw lots of it into the river.

    I often wonder, why? Water, like the sea and rivers, canals etc, seem to be dumping grounds, for junk.

    • @PeakyDippers
      @PeakyDippers  10 месяцев назад

      In the victorian times people had the opinion " out of site, out of mind "
      Unfortunately the people dumped rubbish in the water way's also sewage and dread to think what else x

      Fish plate, an ancient term derived from the French word "fiche" meaning Fix. A fish plate fixes two rails together.

    why don't you and northants hire a boat and barge and do a whole week/end or week doing places that you can't reach by bridge or bank

    • @PeakyDippers
      @PeakyDippers  6 месяцев назад +1

      Peaky dippers already have 2 boats but waiting for the floods here to drop, we can more aless anywhere with the boat just waiting for the flows to slow down.
      We don't fish with Northants anymore as we have different ideas for our channels .
      No haste just doing what's good for us
