I love how Marie tells the history for some of the stuff they find . Thank you Marie for taking the time to give us a history lesson
Thanks Mary 🤗
Marie`s description of the ground signal was spot on. One further fact is the glass for the green light is blue and the yellow oil light made the glass appear green!
Thanks Bumpkin 🤗
The rain almost put me to sleep"""" GOOD JOB TODAY ""

Hi Peaky's , I like the old steam train valve control handles ,, Glen ,, I bet I can find a spot for that National Coal Board knife in my collection 👍
Thanks 🤗
All those steam train part's will be handy for people who restore them 😊
Glenn & Marie- If you research that bridge area, I think it likely there was a major derailment there, based on the amount of rail car parts. Possibly cars or an engine went into the water there?
We don't call the big wrenches 'spanners" here we call them 'Attitude Adjusters" . Great cleanup all.
I will certainly look into that, thanks FK. 🤗
Love them railroad spanners and the levers and round turn things! Love railroad stuff! XO
Wonderful historical video. Well done everyone. Marie you are amazing 😊

Great premier guys some really nice stuff coming out
Thanks Auntie Sue 🤗
What a great day you had some amazing finds and a lovely pile of scrap, do you inform the police about the scoters keep on dipping
Yes graham, we phone the registrations into the police and of stolen they will collect, unfortunately alot of them are not stolen unbelievably and just get scrapped in
We had canals in several northeastern states. To date, there are no groups doing your dipping into history. Find I learn something new each time watching a video. Did ride on a passenger steam train and was speckled with soot and cinders. My. Rainier has a group of the old trains. Logging brought about trains and tracks just built for hauling the huge, old growth logs. Be safe out there. Love the old spanners!😊
Bless you madeline x
Great finds and love the history behind the finds
Thanks Charity 🤗
Hello lovely Marie. Great finds guys. Sad to say that's not a train light cuz it would have a hole coming from the inside edge of the bowl. Even the old fire lantern ones would have an oval shaped hole and it would be more like a bowl. So that looks like a factory overhead light. But still great finds
Thanks 🤗
The third mystery piece is a burner for a gas lantern either by the road way or in a train I believe.
Evening guys been a hot one today
Hi May 🤗

@@mariecollinspeakydippers Very welcome! 😁
Vintage Ground Signal disc. Starts at £40 on eBay and goes up from there depending on condition and rarity.
Thanks William,
I have a larger one and a smaller one now.
Nice to now they are still sort after.
They are hanging in my man cave
Why was there so much train stuff there?
Carol, its directly by a old train Bridge, we think they took the trains apart when they were finished with them and just threw lots of it into the river.
Hi Peaky's :) what a huge amount of rubbish yet i bet its only a small percentage of whats left :) some great train finds by Glen and it deffo is a possibility of Marie finding the headlight casing :)
i cant wait to see what things you Peaky's have coming up :) Especially your announcement about the previous find ;)
Stay safe, have lots of fun and fingers crossed the next find is a golden one :)
Thanks so much 🙏
I often wonder, why? Water, like the sea and rivers, canals etc, seem to be dumping grounds, for junk.
In the victorian times people had the opinion " out of site, out of mind "
Unfortunately the people dumped rubbish in the water way's also sewage and dread to think what else x
❤👍😊
Hi I have a problem and it's proper English a track joiner called a fish plate really think about that a fish plate means to me a plate with deep fried fish on it
It confuses a lot of our followers from abroad lol
Well it's stupid calling it a fish platter I'm sorry but it's not a fish platter
Fish plate, an ancient term derived from the French word "fiche" meaning Fix. A fish plate fixes two rails together.
🤗👍
Hi everybody
Do you keep all the tools you find in do you sell some of them ???
No we give them to anyone around us at the time if they want them.
Curious, do you keep all the signs, both old and modern, to keep/sell or do you send them on to the scrap man?
Hey missy,
Anything railway related is always worth keeping.
We have a mancave we hang stuff in x
Please add a mic and proper sound. You all are awesome!
I’m from America and I can barely understand you as it is…lol😊
I LOVE the history!
Shame Roy Cropper is not real as he would Defo know 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
why don't you and northants hire a boat and barge and do a whole week/end or week doing places that you can't reach by bridge or bank
Peaky dippers already have 2 boats but waiting for the floods here to drop, we can more aless anywhere with the boat just waiting for the flows to slow down.
We don't fish with Northants anymore as we have different ideas for our channels .
No haste just doing what's good for us
