11:36- The "tabs" on the horse shoe are called 'Calks" here in the U.S. and provide a bit of extra grip on snow, ice, and muddy areas. From the size of that shoe, it's most likely off a draft horse. The calks also lend evidence to that. 12:24- That is a spur. It appears it may still have the rowel on the back of it (The pointy disky thing). I really like the sign for the people who think they can walk on water. LMSAO.
Thanks FK 🤗
Finds like that is the reason I love magnet fishing ... You just never know your luck!! Stay Safe & Keep Pulling!!☘
Thank you 🤗
Those types of magnet fishing videos are pretty cool as well, those were some pretty interesting finds from y’all’s crew, another great video and your almost at the 8k mark which is awesome to, have a great day everyone. ❤️
Thanks Cajun 🤗
Nigel, I am afraid you are right. Some people are so STUPID, they need signs like that. They are here in the Colonies too.
That sign is brilliant 😂😂, years ago car manuals used to direct you how to adjust the tappets...... now it warns you not to drink the contents of the battery 😂
The Bone knife looks like it could be a Barber-Surgeons knife 😊
Never saw a duckie lure before. Wow!❤😊
I'm so excited about this opportunity. I love watching your videos and finds. Love all of you.
Thanks Rose 🤗
That plaque is absolutely beautiful!❤❤ I hope I can remember Sunday, and be there on time. 😊
All the historical elements you offer up are awesome! Thank you!
Our pleasure!
I will never be capable of traveling internationally so, my thanks are genuine.
Finally a reason with the walking with the devil ..silver fox says it all ❤🧲🤣
i believe the side bits on Nigel's horseshoe are called 'caulks'. If I recall correctly, they would dig into ice and packed snow to provide traction so that the horse wouldn't slip or fall. i don't know if they would provide dating except by the style. A farrier might know.
The spur part Steve was trying to recall is the 'rowel'. Not all spurs have rowels.
Thanks Patricia 🤗
In the U.S. they have to have a warning to DO NOT EAT THE WRAPPER on the individual cheese slices and bags of mulch.
Lovely finds and video, Silver Fox has good reason for his rant 😊 love the history about the area❤ that plaque is gorgeous.
The wheel on the back of the stirrup is called a rowell
Well said brother
WoW, awesome sign, loved nigel's reaction lol. As always, i loved the area information marie.
The part of the riding spur you found I believe is called a rowel
Thanks Whitney 👍😁
BECAUSE OF QUITE SEVERE BACK PROBS I LOVE WATCHING YOU LOT DO THE THINGS THAT I WANT TO DO!!!!-OH BTW WE WOULD PROBABLY HAVE STUPID SIGNS LIKE THAT HERE IN NORTH WALES!
Some lovely stuff there I think it's a hand saw or a knife of course love the giveaway look good with the keys you gave us 😊
19:30 min. The thing about the marble in the bottle is true, the mudlarkers also find these bottles ,
sometimes there's a marble in there too!
21:08 could be a replaceable blade from an excavator rake attachment, used in vegetation clearance. Would make sense in that location.
Thanks for another outstanding video guys
Thanks Michael 🤗
Brought me smiles! Have a great week
Thanks Whiskey 🤗
I am pretty sure that the knife is a blade from a synthetic blade. Of course the long handle has rotted away. Thanks for your fun and interesting videos!
The auto corrupt took the important word scythe, and messed it up. Sorry
Thanks Abiligail 👍😁
I have a habit of commenting and 5hen the thing I mention become doh 😅 anyway I've seen mudlarkin videos and people especially in sights of rivers with rich history often use those buckets with a glass bottom and I've seen em pull out lovely pottery and clay pipes in shallow rivers, I always enjoy a bit of underwater footage.
Yes we do have a underwater viewer, we must remember to take it next time. 👍😁
The knife looks like a vintage pruning saw
Hi, guys. The little wheel on the stirrup is called a rowel.
I was wondering what that brass object turned out to be, so any information on it?
Horse shoes, front shoes have one clip that comes over the toe but a back shoe has two clips either side this ensures that if the horse over reaches (catches the heel of the front hoof with the toe of the back hoof) the clip does not cause more damage
hi fro, Daytona Beach florida and watching late again
Hi Chuck 🤗
Awesome video guys! 🤘🏻 cheered me up this evening 😁
Thanks Hooligan 🤗
Silver Fox made a poignant statement!
I missed the premier , darn it. unfortunately Nigel P, Common sense has left the building. which makes those sign a shame to have to have.
This may be far fetched but that item you found looks like a old leather tool used to make things like sheaths for knives. or some thing that needs to be turned right side too. If that makes sense. Just a guess , I have no idea what it is made of or the weight. just going by the look of it.
Big brass thing looks like a steam whistle
Thank you again for some history lessons. I can hardly waut until Sunday. See you then.
Well done to you all your videos are brill they keep me sane we my mental health ❤
Agree with Nigel's rant
Looking at the end with a keyed shaft and the bearing. The bronze thing is definitely some kind of roller like you said.
Cheers j p
The knife in the sheath looks like a Sikh knife, name escapes me... also the brass lump could it be a lamp?!?
Thanks Vicky 🤗
It's spur and the round thing is a Rowell.
Thanks 🤗
Yes, rowell, I couldn’t think of it but I knew it had a name 👍
This was hilarious!!!!! Love Nigels comment. LOLOLOLOL 🤓🤓🤓😉
Steve ,,,,, Trust this old man ( me ) ,, He knows It's called a Boot Spur , the parts are called ,, Shank & Rowel disc ,, Missing the leather strap ,,
To me it looks like --- Old hand cutting sickle --- Old weed cutting sickle --- And missing the wooden handle ,, Looks like the metal tip is broken off ,,
Plus it looks like the old Japaness style and shape ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, See Ya Sunday ,,,,,, 7am and hot coffee at my house
cool river walk.. be nice to know if it is a medieval knife thing..
First thought of the brass thing is possible a pounding mechanism maybe like stamping out metal 🤔 just thinking aloud
Thanks Robbie 👍😁
The knife thing could b a saw carpenter’s used to carry saws like that where I’m from in United States
Thanks Kevin 👍🤗
💜
Enjoying the vids guys, love the history you find-out, about. You're soo cheeky, though! Have you fished London, yet?😂😊🤔👍
Bless you gillian xx
Yes we have done London about 3 times so far and plenty more to come x
CHEERS GUYS, Cool, look forward to that.😁👍
Is it a pruning saw in a sheath?
12:18 min. Looks like the breastbone of a large bird 🤣🤣🤣
no , these are spurs to power a horse 🐎🐎🐎
Hi looks like a knife with a metal skabid all grown together with rust? Cheers
Missed you
Brill guys 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Nicola 🤗
Cool lure
Was the solid brasds piece from the printing company? Please give update on the solid brass piece.
I asked about fishing 🎣 gear before, do you pass on the common stuff? I imagine you'll come across vintage weights sometimes some of those a valuable and centerpin reels if in good nick can be worth alot ie hardys is a very good maker.i don't know what it is but it looks old the blade and what could make it really old is how big and crude it is , I do think it could be for butcher work or possibly even farm work it was mentioning cyth made me think about farming tools., I'll be interested to find out exactly what it is.
If we can find out exactly what it is we'll be sure to upload it on a short. 👍😁
Where's the spur?
Hey ,is the knife looking thing in a case because if it is ,it looks like a old meat saw ..hand held bone saw..
No it is just pure thick metal wich makes it so wierd.
Even the handle is metal
So interesting
Could it be a old homemade knife /cutting tool ,back in the day they made what they could to save on buying it ..
How do you keep camera on your cap
Also gad Nicola is ok. No stroke. But migraines are not fun.
16:21 min. she's cute 😊
kukeri ?
Do you need a license for magnet fishing?
Cheapskates, where is the rest of the vlog then? Since when has brass been magnetic?
The brass item had a inner iron core of some kind, that made it stick to the magnet.
The video was short because of the location and lack of finds.
