    As an engineer I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is the innovation here? Is it the concrete duct design? Because the turbine itself is probably just a simply Kaplan type for low head, high flow rate application.

    Good prototype.
    Add a fence at the entrance and a roof to not get things in from above i.e. at heavy rainfalls. Should be fine then

      this is a very old idea, this company did not "invent this" its just offering its own solution. cyclone type turbines have been used around the world for ages lol.

      Yes, that's exactly what it's for. It'd be a waste though if you build it for just a single house. You can power a cable car station though for reaching your off-grid home easier. :)

      Hydro works similar than wind turbines. If you're connected on grid the generator can work with the line, like a motor than when water power come, change alone to generate depending the water flow. But it you don't understand generation, never go to know how it's work.

      See the ripples in the lower stream before main water flows. Seems like a bit of water was already flowing. Maybe enough to turn the the turbine slowly?

Maintenance needed after this i guess, but that is not more than once or twice per year, depending on the region. Or you add a roof, so nothing can enter from above. Would be the best for animals living in the forest aswell

    From this video alone I can't see how this is fish friendly. Is there something it's not showing perhaps?

      From what I can see the flow seems to be branching off from the main river, and there is also a gate at the front to block fish, so it's not impeding the natural flow of the river all too much. If the stream created by the generator flows back into the river then no water was really taken out.

      BonchartPL it's supposedly a slow turbine, it's supposedly fish friendly, so it can't be fast. Probably has a gear ratio for the turbine motor to spin really fast.

    Company is rubbish - multiple times of trying to contact now for many months with NO replies. Now wondering if this is some sort of scam. Website was hacked and tried to place a virus and redirect me too (be careful). I hope they get their act togther.

      Ken Hart makes sense that the big power companies would set up to attack people encouraging small independent systems like this. they want people to be dependent on them that way THEY stay in control. this system sets people FREE. for every one of these systems THEY lose customers.

      the growth of the power consumption is so vast that they do not lose income, they only lose the potential to grow bigger. coal will eventually lose customers but these will not benefit from attacking small power plants because they will be zoned out regardless of their actions.

      skip the company. analyze what you have been Shown. and still skip the company. any folks enamored of this design should consider these facts. a Massive flow control structure is necessary. the overall energy conversion efficiency will Not be much over fifty percent. in existing installations seen on yt, it is Not clear whether selection of an optimal site and/or utilization of All available head has been eschewed, merely for the sake of using this design. cheers googletranslate

    One of their videos said it's only 5000 watts. That's great, but at 120v, that's only 40 amps. Most houses in the USA have at least 100 amp service, so this might be useful for a remote location but it's not going to be a permanent long term solution for our power needs for 90% of the population unless you can set up several of these for each house.

    So Basically if i have a Submersible Generator i can build it myself at home🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

    Even if i wanted a readymade product from your company, I don't think you will be able to export it to India at an afforable price anyway. So, better for me to build it myself.

      @@anonomas4253 the design is to keep cost down for those wanting to use. There are more efficient designs for sure but because they are larger than normal turbine blades it takes less energy to spin the turbine . yes it creates less energy but allows it to be more cost effective and also have less of an impact on the environment around .

    This video is a scam. Francis turbines existed for 170 years and are the most versed at this kind of job. They produce a few kW starting with 40 m water heading. This video shows no water heading leading to believe kinetic energy can do the job of 40 m water column pressure. Not so.

      I think this design is to lower the costs and be environmental friendly, but for a project of this size, havind an efficiency of 60% isn't that bad

      Vitor Riedel Actually it’s terrible. Because it is a low head high flow design efficiency is more like 20%, not 60%

      Being a low head turbine doesn't mean its efficiency is low, only that the water fall is low.
      If you use the information from their website, you can calculate the efficiency of the system, and from what they present there it's close to 60%. In reality the efficiency should be less than that value, but not 20%, unless you made a terrible error in the project.
