- Zeitgeist live "Things Don't Change" (1986)
Recorded live at the Continental Club in 1986. As another band owned the rights to the name Zeitgeist, the band were forced to change their name to the Reivers, after the William Faulkner book. The band included John Croslin, songwriter, vocalist, guitars; Kim Longacre, vocals, guitars; Cindy Toth, bass, violin; and Garrett Williams on drums. They disbanded in 1991, but have reunited for a couple of special events.
Produced by Bill Crawford and Curtis Craven.

Fantastic. This video, this band, makes me so nostalgic--a little warm and happy, a little wistful, a big part of the soundtrack of my lost youth.
If I hadn't lived in an apartment building with a basement that flooded, I would have this album today!
Man. Such a great band. This LP is still in my collection, 35 years later. Just stellar.
I'm on a "Stroll Down Memory Lane" mood tonight. Sadly, I'm not from Austin, and missed all of this magic from the mid-late 80s and into the early 90s. I'm thankful to have seen "The Reivers" (sorry they had to change their band name) a little later in Cincinnati at a club called Bogart's. It was a Sunday night, maybe half full, and they blew the roof off the joint! I've seen them several times since (reunions in Austin) and SO thankful I have! John, Kim, Cindy, and Garrett... You rocked my world, and continue to do so every time I watch the videos or listen to the vinyl!
Things Do Change, sadly, but my love of this band never will...
Everybody in this band works together for the greater glory. Very unique sound. Still trying to get Cindy to go out for lunch with me.
Went to St. Ed's from 84-88. Pretty sure I was at this show. Loved this band so much.
Haven't heard this in so long! Wonderful song, wonderful band.
Things have changed so much. Damn I miss the old Austin, when it used to be weird.
How'd I miss this video! We use to drive from FW to Austin or Dallas or anywhere they were playing that was a tank of gas close. I miss those dayz! They were the soundtrack of my life from the mid 80's on.
Theyre Performing at Oktoberfest fest in Cheyenne Wyoming today 9/21/24 today. We’re in Colorado on vacation but we’re from Houston Tx.
saw them at the Beach and UT, awesome, this club is packed, great music scene in Austin in the 80s
Cool opening to video ,,, triggered something
GREAT SHIT.. I was there ANn Arbor .. i saw them and talked to the lead singer
Talked to the band after a show in the late 80s in Columbia SC. Great band!
@@e-care-books9867 Saw them in Athens GA probably on the same tour, & we happened to be eating at the same place as them before their show. After the show, we chatted with them a bit & Cindy Toth said, "Heyyy we ate at the same restaurant!" Funny how you remember little things like that.
@@splash733 Was it the famous "Automatic for the People" BBQ place in Athens? :)
@@e-care-books9867 Weaver Dee's? As far as I recall it was not, but here's a tidbit: I remember we noticed an old WWII era poster on the wall there that read "Silence means security." This is a line from the REM song "Begin the Begin." So it made us wonder whether Michael Stipe got the inspiration for that line from staring at the very same poster!
@@splash733 Cool post. Athens is filled with those kinds of stories, etc.
That was a badass band...
Best times, live shows.in Austin.
If you watch a lot of their videos, Cindy Toth is cut out of a lot of them.
Fabulous!!!!
...here's to the glory of youth...
