I saw these guys, 1989, in a little hole in the wall in Reseda California, ‘BeBop Records’. They were brilliant- One of those great lost bands that should’ve been much better known.

I moved to Austin 88. I must’ve seen these guys play 20 times they were always fantastic. They were always on the verge of making it big. Had all their violin CDs. Cindy top bass player was my waitress once and I asked her out. She said she was too busy to have a personal life.
They often played at liberty lunch. Which was torn down to become a parking garage for a high tech bullshit company.
When I think of the Reivers, I think of liberty lunch. And I think of the lost wonder that was Austin when it was the music capital of the world. 😢

Holy crap, I was there. Had moved to DC after Austin days, and was so excited the Reivers made it to the East coast. It was great to see them again. I remember the show well. Their encore included the best covers of "Rain" and "Love Hurts". Great show in a historic hole-in-the-wall dump, called the 9:30.

Holy RUclips vu. I was at this show: May 13, 1989. It was a good show, and I liked it a little better than when they played the 8x10 the following night. But I don't even remember them sounding as good as they do in this video.

I saw them on this tour at Tapworks in Dover, Delaware. Opening band that night was Beat Clinic, which went on to become The Caulfields....
