I own a 2017 Prius, and it's my favorite car. I'm not going to lie: the 2024 Prius Prime XSE Premium with the solar roof is dope AF, but the '17 Prius still gets incredible MPG and is much larger on the inside than the Prius Prime. I've done so many road trips in the '17 Prius. It's very roomy and comfortable. The car needs very little maintenance other than regular checks every 5-10k miles or every 6 months/1yr. I will ride this car out until I upgrade to the Prius Prime if they still produce them with solar roofs (and if the solar roofs are reliable).
It’s my first card and after having it for 2 years the only thing I have a problem with is that plastic piece below the bumper is quite low and can get loose if you go to fast over speed bumps or drive over front curbs, I still squint every time I hear that noise. But aside from that it’s perfect for la driving.
Don’t deactivate the beep. It’s to remind you of reverse. I have put mine in drive in the garage when I meant reverse and was saved. It’s intuitive to wait for the beep before removing your foot off the brake

I have a 2017 Prius Three with 48K miles. I just did an oil change and they told me I need a $650 brake repair, something about calipers and rust. They said it’s not uncommon in this model. My BS detector was hitting the red zone. If it’s a known defect you would think Toyota would pay for the repair.
@@b3naqua I keep it on all of my hybrid after 2 x I run offer something behind me. Sometimes I did not realized that it is in reverse gear and the car is On/Ready.
@@naumidec Completely different cars tho. If you need to drive a little bit off-road, pick RAV4. Otherwise, take Prius which is just as spacious as RAV4 and also has a 4WD version.

LOVE my 2017! Get an average of 60 MPG! BUT, am trying to get a 2024, which is really hard to do because of the rear door lock recall issue, hoping they get that fixed so I can pick one up soon. Am curious to see if I get better MPG with it than the 2017.
I find the non extendable sun visors irritating. I find the front driver's door wanting to swing way too wide! Yes, it's noisy but I can live with that. I've had mine about a year and it's at 60k miles. The AC kind of struggles in the Tucson heat...no mystery there. I really like the car! 🙂 Oh, and because of the heat I make sure there's nothing on the right back floorboard that can interfere with the cooling fan to the big battery.
I bought it from the local dealer as a "certified" used vehicle. It started as a rental vehicle in Phoenix. It looked to be in mint condition and they gave me the complete CARFAX report to boot. I read and studied all of the information I could find on it including reading the factory manual 8-) One excellent source of Toyota vehicles on the web is the "Car Care Nut" I learned a lot from him. It was a 2017 Prius Two 🤘🏼 adaptive cruise control is really handy to have, esp if you take a lot of long road trips! Highly recommend getting a model with the feature 👌🏼

@@b3naqua It is indeed. Own a P4 since April 2016. 90.000km on the speedometer and averagely 3,5l/100km. Never had an issue with Prius, it is always running fine with first breaks and tires. The P4 is the roomiest Prius and the most comfortable one. I always drive very relaxed and don't rush. The Prius leads me to this kind of driving style I enjoy most. Drove before the P4 a P3 for nearly 6 years, so I was used to drive the HSD very efficiently. The P4 is the best efficient car of all cars I know and had which consume fuel. I like the looks, but most people don't, that's why the car isn't on the German market anymore. I don't mind, because I assume that my P4 will last for a very long time.
Be prepared for a leaky heat exchanger on the tailpipe. Mine is losing coolant out of the exhaust and it's going to be a $2000 repair. This is a common problem with 2016-2019. Other than that, a perfect car.

Please detail it if u love it. 😉😁 I love that color & it really pops when its all detailed/polished. Check ur traction fan filter on the passenger side rear. My favourite car is now our Auris hybrid. The Prius looks like a good candidate to replace it some day.

Yeah the beeping is so annoying lol. I think there are ways to reduce sensor sensitivity, but I’m not sure you can mute those beeps 😭
You can code it so it only beeps once when you put into reverse using obd scanner carista

At 120,000-150,000 miles, you’ll have to replace the water pump. The engine has to be jacked up, and it’ll cost you nearly $1,000.
