I’ve been wanting to get into dance but it’s definitely not a natural talent of mine. I’m also not as young as many people who start dance, and I’m unable to go to dance classes. Do you have any tips on how to practice and get better? (Any advice is appreciated!!)

I’m learning piano and taking piano classes is extremely expensive so I’m self-taught. It’s very hard to find the ressources but it’s worth it because I find it more fun ^^
I LOVE horse riding! It's so relaxing. I used to take lessons and hope to do it again. My favorite part is bonding with the horse and grooming them, so fun.

as a figure skater (and former dancer), id say figure skating would also be a little diamond since theres the mental benefits. Its also a physical sport and its very creative. If you joing a team (or a club if ur a beginner) then it can also be very social!!! p.s. id totally love a part two with more hobbies!!

My four points hobbies are muay thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu! If you find a good gym, not only will it improve your physical health, but practicing martial arts improves brain function. Once you get competent, it becomes art and you can be truly creative in honing your game. I love the social aspects of practicing as well! Dancers usually do really well in striking sports since there is so much cross over! Love the video!

That's not a hobby, that's a chore. A chore is work which is piled on your already enough (mental) workload. Hobbies make you feel satisfied, they do not generate negative feelings.
Sorry to hear that!😥 I know it was kind of short, but at the beginning when I was defining a hobby you’ll see a text portion where I actually say that I don’t think extracurriculars done for padding college applications/resumes or for pleasing parents qualify as a “hobby”! In my book, hobbies are things done 100% for fun with no major pressure or need to succeed (so even if you take several weeks or months off it’s no big deal), and something that you derive joy from, so even if it’s something you do for just 15 minutes a day to destress/unwind, I’d recommend trying to find an alternative activity (other than the one you mentioned you hate) to be your hobby!🥰 Again, sorry you’re going through this, and I hope things work out!!🫶

For me I am a major kpop fan so I just get the benefits of dancing since their dances are such high energy are require so much stamina and memorization as I usually learn the first half of any song's choreo.

Great video! I always love watching the videos on your channel! I totally believe hobbies are super important. My mom was against it when I got older because she wanted me to just focus on school to get into a top college, but I always was drawn to trying things out. I have tried out so many different hobbies, but the one I fell the most in love with was ballroom dancing. I have been doing it for a few years now while I am still in college and sometimes it’s hard to balance both and also a part time job, but it’s worth it. It is something I want to do with my career after I graduate and I think it improved my mental and physical health immensely.

8 days late to this but thank you for this video. I had such a difficult spring semester in college which seriously affected my mental health and ended up getting anxiety. Also like you, I was so busy with school to the point where I stayed up until 2 or 3 in the morning to finish my work. That also meant I didn’t get a chance to spend time with my parents or draw on my iPad so that really concerned my parents. I ended up seeing a counselor and she told me something that I’ll never forget: Your worth is more important than anything, even your grades. That didn’t mean I shouldn’t stop caring about my grades, but sometimes it’s not worth the mental and physical toll it takes on you. That meant so much to me because I always strived to have perfect grades in school, so her telling me that made feel that I don’t need to always get A’s. I can still get a B and satisfied and that’s what my parents told me and they also said that they will always be proud of me no matter what. I’m currently on summer break and finally being able to draw, paint, cook, and bake and enjoy myself instead of stressing about school. I know this is pretty long and you probably won’t see it but I just wanted to say that because I really did have a time with my spring semester so thank you again for this video. Side Note: Those cookies look delicious and I did take horse riding lessons back in elementary school but stopped for some reason.

i've been also a dancer since 4 and i still do now but i do both classical (which i don't really like 'cause it's more harder than normal dance) and the normal dance where you dance to a song. classical dance has their own music so i don't really like it 'cause you have to practice very hard!

I’ve been dancing my whole life and my sister has too even before I was born, I play soccer, I journal, i like reading but I don’t do it that much, I try to do arts and crafts, and I love making easy recipes and snacks I find on Pinterest. Just wanted to share my favorite hobbies 💖
as someone who skateboards and is looking at rollerblading/skating id definitely include those two as allrounders, too! similar to dance - theyre very physically taxing, learning various tricks requires a lot of mental focus, those said tricks can be transformed into a creative outlet to express yourself, and learning with a group of friends or going to a local indoor or outdoor skatepark is a great way to learn n meet new people, also!
I have no idea if anyone will see this, but Estella has changed me in such a positive way! I started watching her during the Pandemic, but she's made me so much more productive.
Don't get me wrong, I've done some of these and still do, but if you do some of these (all or even a few) it's not gonna help with burnout. I LOVE playing my clarinet, making food art, and theatre, but in my opinion, they wouldn't help with burn out. I'm insecure about my ability to play my instrument in comparison to others who have been playing for ad long as me. (Around 6 yrs) I thought about quitting multiple times. And theatre can sometimes (depending on production) take a shit load of time. Last year, sometimes we had practices from 5-8 which is kind of a lot becuase I get home at around 4. You know what they say, a true artist has a love-haye relationship for their craft.
I used to do horse riding as a hobby and now I do it more competitively so I got a hobby for my “hobby” because this one fun but also too serious to call a hobby anymore. So I’ve started ice skating and it’s super fun!❤
Improv! Join a class or a group and make friends, it’s creative making things up, mentally challenging as you figure out how to contribute to scenes, and it’s pretty physical depending on what kind of scene you’re doing.
If you do marching band it can also be a physical hobby. Marching band is very physical, requiring long hours practicing usually in the heat of summer. So if you do marching band it can check all the boxes.

music can be a psychical activity too for example I'm in percussion and we are the strongest kids in our school because of it. Banging on the drums, keeping on beat, and carrying the drums while marching is a WORKOUT. I have been sore for days after marching band when I first started.

8 days late to this but thank you for this video. I had such a difficult spring semester in college which seriously affected my mental health and ended up getting anxiety. Also like you, I was so busy with school to the point where I stayed up until 2 or 3 in the morning to finish my work. That also meant I didn’t get a chance to spend time with my parents or draw on my iPad so that really concerned my parents. I ended up seeing a counselor and she told me something that I’ll never forget: Your worth is more important than anything, even your grades. That didn’t mean I shouldn’t stop caring about my grades, but sometimes it’s not worth the mental and physical toll it takes on you. That meant so much to me because I always strived to have perfect grades in school, so her telling me that made feel that I don’t need to always get A’s. I can still get a B and satisfied and that’s what my parents told me and they also said that they will always be proud of me no matter what. I’m currently on summer break and finally being able to draw, paint, cook, and bake and enjoy myself instead of stressing about school. I know this is pretty long and you probably won’t see it but I just wanted to say that because I really did have a time with my spring semester so thank you again for this video.
Side Note: Those cookies look delicious and I did take horse riding lessons back in elementary school but stopped for some reason.
My summer vacations just started and this will give me the much needed boost to get along with highschool. Thank you Estella 😌❤

As a person who has been a dancer since the age of 3 and still does and also enjoys all the other hobbies mentioned in this video, i really enjoyed watching another person trying and liking the same hobbies as meee💗💗 great video and im a huge fan
i've been also a dancer since 4 and i still do now but i do both classical (which i don't really like 'cause it's more harder than normal dance) and the normal dance where you dance to a song. classical dance has their own music so i don't really like it 'cause you have to practice very hard!
Without my hobbies I would have lost it years ago. Hobbies are important. Doesn't have to be 1 hour straight. Even 10 minutes it's more than enough

I’ve been dancing my whole life and my sister has too even before I was born, I play soccer, I journal, i like reading but I don’t do it that much, I try to do arts and crafts, and I love making easy recipes and snacks I find on Pinterest. Just wanted to share my favorite hobbies 💖
as someone who skateboards and is looking at rollerblading/skating id definitely include those two as allrounders, too! similar to dance - theyre very physically taxing, learning various tricks requires a lot of mental focus, those said tricks can be transformed into a creative outlet to express yourself, and learning with a group of friends or going to a local indoor or outdoor skatepark is a great way to learn n meet new people, also!

Don't get me wrong, I've done some of these and still do, but if you do some of these (all or even a few) it's not gonna help with burnout. I LOVE playing my clarinet, making food art, and theatre, but in my opinion, they wouldn't help with burn out. I'm insecure about my ability to play my instrument in comparison to others who have been playing for ad long as me. (Around 6 yrs) I thought about quitting multiple times. And theatre can sometimes (depending on production) take a shit load of time. Last year, sometimes we had practices from 5-8 which is kind of a lot becuase I get home at around 4.
You know what they say, a true artist has a love-haye relationship for their craft.
I used to do horse riding as a hobby and now I do it more competitively so I got a hobby for my “hobby” because this one fun but also too serious to call a hobby anymore. So I’ve started ice skating and it’s super fun!❤

If you do marching band it can also be a physical hobby. Marching band is very physical, requiring long hours practicing usually in the heat of summer. So if you do marching band it can check all the boxes.

music can be a psychical activity too for example I'm in percussion and we are the strongest kids in our school because of it. Banging on the drums, keeping on beat, and carrying the drums while marching is a WORKOUT. I have been sore for days after marching band when I first started.
