Get your first 3 weeks completely free with Listening using my link!!: www.listening.com/studytosuccess p.s. just wanted to clarify here (since my editor so rudely cut me off at the end 🙄) that breaks and rest are ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NECESSARYYYY to not burn out!! However, when I was younger I felt constantly caught up in this vicious cycle where I was always behind on schoolwork, then procrastinated by scrolling / watching / reading stuff to distract myself, then frantically did schoolwork last minute when I started to finally panic, then burned out because I worked non-stop for a week, took a "break" by scrolling only to fall down a rabbit hole yet again, got behind on everything all over again, and the cycle continued endlessly. As a result I never felt like I truly had a day or even hour off because I was always supposed to be doing something for school or work, and I never actually scheduled time in or allowed myself to actually do hobbies or fun activities (or even 100% permit myself to watch something without feeling guilty). So I constantly felt burned out, felt guilty that I was behind all the time on everything, felt guilty that I was wasting so much time scrolling mindlessly, and felt guilty that I wasn't working on things or projects I was excited or passionate about (like my YT channel, hobbies, etc), so I felt miserable 24/7. The point is, if using your time during chores or commuting or waiting time helps you get stuff done so you can actually allow yourself to have a REAL, guilt-free break and do something you love or just have a self-care day, then I highly recommend trying to find those little moments in the day you can take advantage of. Nowadays I like to use my "free" time I create for myself to do sports, hang out with friends/family, do fun projects, etc, all of which replenish my energy for my work. However, I now have that "free" time because I use the habits I mentioned in this video. So please please PLEASE do not think you need to be productive 24/7 or never rest and turn into an extremely efficient robot lol - the point of time management is to create time to do what YOU love and free yourself from the negative cycle of being constantly behind but procrastinating because you don't know what else to do with yourself. Hope this clarifies things and makes sense!!💖
I'm not a professional but my entire high school i has passed and I'm burnt out(my exams are ongoing) please and I repeat PLEASE use your breaks as breaks you don't need to make even your breaks productive or at least everyday.. it might burn you out sooner or later .. during breaks do what you like and do what relaxes you or resets your brain.. remember it's called "BREAK" for a reason...
@@anajulia-mq9io So true. Being on social media is NOT resting. Even if it feels like you're doing nothing, your brain has to process a TON of information and it drains your mental energy.
hey, just chiming in, as an adhd haver, for other adhd havers: do not expect time blocking specifc hard hours to work for you. time blindness and all that. giving yourself that deadline of "I should do X before lunch" is fine, and actually helpful, but don't be surprised or disappointed in yourself when that doesn't work out:)
Yeah, I'm a nurse and working all types of shifts, my sleeping schedule is all over the place so on my days off if I managed to get out of bed and have breakfast till 11am it's already amazing Setting harsh timelines for morning hours only leads to frustration
For my fellow Neurodivergents: a lot of things in this video are really cool and creative resources HOWEVER most of them are not neurodivergent friendly (such as eating the frog for adhd) so don’t beat yourself up if they won’t work! It’s good that you tried anyways! :>
Eating the frog is actually easy for me, the real deal is timing myself, I have no time perception whatsoever, so I will just panic about the timer and still don't finish in time, like wdym that was 10 minutes? That or I just simply forget about the timer at all, it really is rough out there, and now having said that, the habit stacking looks really helpful for that good association!
just some bullet point with things important for me: 1. bucketing (dedicating each day to certain tasks) 2. batching (not switching between activities) 3. blocking (planning with realistic, assertive approach + getting to know in which hours you are the most productive) 4. combining sth you hate with sth you like 5. use the time when you do chores/take walks mindfully
Don't forget to also have times where you're literally doing nothing. Look at something far away in the distance and let yourself just think your thoughts and feel your feelings without any media input. Go out in nature if you can. You don't have to cramp every moment full of productivity, but it is good not to waste time on social media or watching something on Netflix that you don't even enjoy very much.
We're truly going into a wave of chronically ill young adults with fatigue. We need to SLOW. DOWN! ❤🩹 Silence and nothing is crucial for brain and body wellness
Pretty sure habit stacking is not "do two things at the same time" [aka, multitasking], but using an existing habit as the cue for a new one [like, you brush your teeth every day in the evening so after that you go and stretch]
I saw Eloise on the thumbnail and clicked immediately. 🤭 I love ur videos, and I recently watched Bridgerton for the first time and Eloise is my favourite 😭🫶
A bit of a rant. Dang...I wish I could put everything in 1-2 days but my college requires every academic subject to be 2-3 meetings per week with PE and school-oriented courses as the exception with 1 meeting per week. Unfortunately, one of the exceptions can only be taken on Saturday and takes 3 hours 😭. It doesn't help that my commute takes 1-1 hour and 30 minutes going to school and another to go home, I'm not allowed to dorm either since it costs too much and isn't safe (according to my mother and the news), and also I might accidentally perish by myself 🥲...because of the commute I'm not allowed to pack my subjects until the last available period since I'd end up having to go home late at night, and then I'll have to wake up at 4 AM just to not be late. I know I probably have it better than others, but it's still something I want to change but I can't due to internal and external requirements. Primarily, money. At this point, my only option to enjoy my college life to the fullest is if I go back to college when I finally get rich 😆. I hope that comes soon. Anyway, high-quality, informative, and aesthetic video as always! As someone nearing her finals, this video was a great help 😁.
what i got from this video is putting a deadline for myself. i do checklists for my to-do s but i don't block my time so i always end up not doing them. thank you for this informative tips!
During my WFH days, I'll take aside 30 minutes of my lunch break to clean. Monday, I dusted & vacuumed the living/dining areas. Today I cleaned my bathroom. One or two nights during the week while getting dinner ready, I'll do a load of wash. After I clean up the kitchen, I'll put the laundry away as part of my evening routine. This has helped me save so much time on the weekends, and I'm able to seriously get these chores done if I'm on a deadline and stay focused. Great video; love your content. Thanks! ⭐️
Hi Estella, you've literally changed my WHOLE LIFE. From getting '60s to the '90s. These habits are really useful especially when I am going to high school. But do you have any extensions or any other websites that contain blocking like I wanna block RUclips and also unblock. Do you have any suggestions?
Hey Estella, thank you for this video, I found it genuinely helpful & I'm a 30 year old PhD student... I find the younger generations like yourself are a useful source of new wisdoms especially when it comes to dealing with problems of this digital age. As a woman, you mentioned in a previous video about dealing with PMS. I find I lose several days in the month to this so I have two questions if you have the time to answer them. 1. How do you reduce your PMS symptoms or make them more manageable? 2. How do you stay productive on days when it's your time of the month? Thank you x
Hey! I’m not Estella, but I have a tip for PMS. Try taking Magnesium!! Super cheap (like $10 for 150 pills). I start taking it a few days before my period starts and then stop about 3 days into my period. It helps sooo much with PMS symptoms like cramping, irritability, sleep loss, and mood swings. For me, it works better at relieving cramps then ibuprofen. Give it a try!!
Thank you so much estella I scored really good Marks in my exam. I am 13 years old and I can't stop watching your videos thank you so much❤❤❤❤😊😊😊And I'm also jealous because I can't be asthetic like you😂😂😂can you please comment your opinion😢😢

Hi Estela! I love your videos soooooo much! Can your next video be on how to stay organized.
