This was a really helpful video to watch as I was getting confused with the options. It was nice to hear from another crafter who actually went to market events and compare the two systems. Thank you!

Kristiana thank you for leaving a comment. I'm also going to do a part 2 of SumUp and Zettle so make sure you follow for notifications. Have you decided on which one you will use?

@@SDLartsandcrafts I went for the zettle and I'm really happy with it. It was very easy to set up and operate, add listings on the go as well. The bunch of other features like inventory or profit are also very useful. I'm quite happy with this choice. Thank you!

You can do discounts... You click on the price tag and choose a percentage discount

I’m so glad I came across your video … First are you required to have a business banking account or can I use one of my personal banking accounts “doing business as” that I have already established ….. I’m just getting started but I do sell a lot of different items … I would say over 100 different items with quantities of 1 or 2 & my inventory is constantly changing… my second business is custom tee shirts but not a lot of variance in pricing … Also, I live in the USA…. I’m thinking the SUMUP might work better in my situation because I now have a permanent spot to sell plus I’ll also be doing mobile locations at specialized events…. But I do like the Zettle unit as well … they both do have great Pro’s & I would love to have a Free web site … I wish these two units would combine their technology advantages … What are your thoughts because I’m located in the USA & I’m also wondering how to deal with a constantly changing inventory on the Product business …. Again, thank you for your product review & comparison of these two units

Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment. First you don't need a business bank account or "DBA" in order to have SumUp or Zettle.
I would say try the SumUp Air if you don't already have a website established and if you have low quantities. Just remember if you do anything like 2 shirts for $30 you're going to have to just make a "new item." Zettle handled discounts wat better than SumUp.
I'm fairly certain SumUp can be used in the US. Most people in the US from what I saw when doing markets were either using Square or PayPal/Zettle. Where as here in the UK it's either SumUp or Zettle.
Let me know if you have more questions and new video suggestions. The next one is going to be on financial apps. Take care and don't forget to sub to the channel 😊

I just came across your channel and I'm trying to get a zettle account. I have a paypal business account and I sent in all my documentation that they wanted and I still can't get an account. Do you remember how long it took you to get approved for your account?

I don't remember it taking too long but I think the first time I signed up I think I had an issue like that.

Can you opt for the business option without officially registering a business? I am in the process but need the reader in advance. Or if you purchase normally, then decide to upgrade to a business account, is this possible?

I love your video but I had the SumUp and the terminal with printer. I didn’t like it at all! It always stopped working. Sometimes it just broke and I got a new one.. also it is not really good. I couldn’t take payments several times. SumUp couldn’t explain why. I had the same with the small one from sum up :(
I use the Zettle Terminal 3G with scanner and printer, never had anything better than this for pop up stores and markets.
Also the normal Zettle reader 2 is installed in my store. It works without any issues and I love the layout of the system app on iOS :)
And if you don’t have a store yet, you could open the Zettel store and organize customers etc.
So I highly recommend Zettle. Yes it is PayPal but the fees are okay and my customers often pay with PayPal barcode or credit card on there phones.
Oh and also not to forget! Those small sumups stop working when they fall down. It is a „safety“ mechanism but it really is annoying when someone drops it and it basically locks itself and you need to throw it out :(
I totally agree SumUp service is Terrible.
With Zettel I do have an operator who I can call when I have an issue :)
So all together: Buy yourself the Zettle terminal with printer and barcode scanner (or without if you don’t need it). You don’t need a phone and it has no monthly fee :-)
Oh and it works more than perfect with my woocomerce store and the intergration.

Yo this comment was so excellent that I might even pin it to make sure everyone can see it.
Funny, I want to get the Zettle Terminal with the barcode (don't need a barcode but I figure why not). However, recently I've been using more and more SumUp as an online store. To the point where I'm considering taking down my main wordpress website and just the the domain for my SumUp store. Reason being is that the SumUp online shop cost 0 money to run. It just charges fees when someone buys something. Granted I still haven't made online sales 🙄😭😓, yeah still working on that to turn it around. But I think a free online store from SumUp is a major plus and a makes running a first time business very cost effective and low risk. I feel like a free online store isn't something that should be overlooked however, one thing I will say on the SumUp online store is that it is very barebones. I wanted to add an about me page and that was horrible. It was like making a website in Microsoft Notepad. If you wanna check out my shop go to shop.sianday.com
Which is actually why I wanted to make another small and quick video on SumUp vs. Zettle.
But yeah overall Zettle/PayPal feels more of a solid payment terminal. Especially if you run discounts or deals it was easier to do that and keep of track of inventory. They also added a new feature where you can accept payments via your phone is is cool tapping phones to make a payment lol.
I really appreciate this comment. Very detailed! Thank you for sharing. If you have any video ideas or something you want to know, just drop it in the comments and I'll see what I can do. ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍

@@SDLartsandcrafts thank you too for the awesome video and reply to my comment 🥰 hope I could help and I will take a look at your store as well :-)
Running a store with woocomerce is something I highly recommend, you can run a store with less than 100$ a year :)
And of course, it is wayyyy more easier than that 1990 notepad version from SumUp 😄
Also it runs smoothly with Zettel.
Keep up your work and sales will come :-)
I can also request making advertisements on Facebook and Insta, they helped so much.
Maybe ad as well an Etsy store.
      Just some ideas :-)
What I always like to see, are videos from other Business lady’s like you and me where they show there workspace and there setup.
Oh and what I have never really seen, is a video where someone explains the Zettel app and SumUp app, differences etc. that would be awesome for people who never used Ether or just used one of them :)
