I was actually going to use this at work. I deliver furniture and sometimes folks "don't have cash, sorry" sucks. This at the least will get a laugh out of me. Seeing their faces as I whip out this thing. 😂 Put them on the spot to get a tip for carrying all the heavy shit up stairs.
I'm a driving instructor and I've had one for about 10 months now it's awesome Never let me down, the app is very easy to use simple and they always pay into my account on time.
@@calf6445 You can set it to pay out the next day or monthly. If you set up next day it Will normally pay by 7pm the next day without fail. If you have set up monthly then it pays out the 3rd working day of every month by 7pm without fail
Just been issued and told in 30 seconds how to use sumup. Was worried, but this clip has assured me, and I'm ready to take your money. Well presented, easy for a old techno phobic like me. Thank you.
I've been using Paypal Here for some time. It's been good but the point of sale experience has sometimes been marred by comms failures and bluetooth registration failure. The SUmUp device looks So much faster to use at the point of sale. I also like the transactions go direct to your nominated bank account, rather than via Paypal. I'm sold. I've registered and ordered my new Air. Thanks for a great video.

Thank you for this video. I'm in process of deciding which payment provider to use for my small business and SumUp is one of my top two choices so seeing the reader in action has been very helpful. Thank you.
looks great, it's peaked my interest too, good for selling goods/service at events and even make ebay selling more reliable if the customer wants to see an item before paying. good idea
Not long started a small business and looking into card machines. So many costly ones. Just purchased the sumup at £19 and its so easy to set up. Payments go through fast aswell. Let you know next week on payments to my account as they can take around 3 working days. So far so good.
Thanks for the review. Was looking at getting this as I organise wine tasting events and most people need to pay on the night. The review helped with my decision, so thanks again!
Thinking of buying one for my barber shop as the local banks have closed leaving only two cash machines in my local shopping centre. So this little device will come in very handy
It takes seconds for the customer to pay but up to 3 days before it shows up in your bank on Sumup. Get square it's next day in the bank and if you want it in the bank same day you pay 1 percent which is about 50p for sending 50 quid.
I've ordered one - it's in the post! I got it for only £15 as I did a bit of fiddling around with the app and the website and used a referral code I created myself to get the price way down! ;)
Does this have like a tap and go donation feature? So if I'm busking, can I set it to take £1 donations without having to reset it up for each donation? Or will I have to stop what I'm doing to program it each time someone wants to donate?
Thanks this video was very informative. I have been looking for a card reader to use at my upcoming Showcase at House of Blues San Diego to sell Merchandise for my music. I was a little worried about finding the right one but I'm convinced I wanna use this for the event.
If you are a 1 person small business starter, then yes i would recommend sumup or izettle whichever is best for you. They both record the transactions of each item, so you can always look back for tax payment or whatever.
But your video didnt address where the money actually goes if someone swipes it say after you clean their windows. Are bank accounts credited and debited in realtime or what is this story with that? And why have you to put a Pound on it for it too work? Thanks.
From what I’ve seen, I think you link it to your bank account when you sign up and then it takes about 3 days to be deposited into your bank from sunup.
Guys just to let you know it take 2-3 working days to credit your bank account. Sometimes they retain some of your money and you'll get probably 10% of your daily sales. I'd recommend using your own bank to set it up
Great video. Very helpful. Thank you. I am now thinking of getting a sum up air for using at some craft fairs that I am booked into so people have the option of paying by card if they don’t have cash. Would this sum up air be a useful thing to have for that please and do you have to have a separate business account or can you set up so any payments made can go straight into your personal bank account. Also do you have to have a separate printer to print out a receipt or do you just enter a persons email address once payment has gone through. Thank you
@Alex Pettitt Hi, i ordered one, got it today, i did tester payment sent £1 to my self with the receipt, the receipt sent to my email, was very alarming, it gave out my full personal address, and my full name totally breaching my privacy, and leaving me wide ope to fraud as the customer would have most of my private info, did or does your sum up give out your private address, and your full name?, or do you know way not to send that info
Do you know if you can set up the reader to get compulsory donations/tips where someone can set a given amount and just pay? Or does it require setting up an amount in the app and sending it to the reader every time?

Had to come WATCH this. We have an event for work in May that will include an auction component. Our current service is much higher so this would be a nice and fast option. Do you know if we could purchase more than 1 and have them all logged in to work under the same account?
Adri SZ Hey this is a great use case and SumUp actually had a special feature called "employees" for this. There's one main account that has all the bank depositing details in etc, and then you set up employee accounts that just enable multiple employees to take payment. Check out their website for more info, but the short answer to your questions I believe is YES :)
