I was just on a fishing charter a week ago out of San Diego and the boat Captain and crew were also duck hunters. We had a lengthy conversation about these waders while slaying fish from the bow! Great video!!!!
Hey Titus, with the shell in the pocket thing for your waders, I recommend wearing your delta wading jacket over top of your waders and then using your shell pockets on that.
I have a pair of the Sitka waders with out the zipper, last season I stepped out of boat right on a willow stick that had been chewed off at water level by beaver, it went right through the neoprene about the boot. I was able to patch it with neoprene patch and hunted the rest of the season with no issues. I called and talked to Sitka customer service and told them what happen and did not mind paying to get them repaired, they told me to send them in and they would email me what cost to repair. I got waders back 20 days from the day I mailed them they replaced the boot on that leg and didn’t charge me anything for repair also sent a free hat back in the box. The customer service at Sitka was top notch.
Love my DZWs! Sitka does stand behind their product. I hunted around 35 times this year with them. That was my second season and I’m incredibly hard on my gear. Great review and great product!
Awesome review! I threw my $400 dollar waders in the garbage can after less than 2 seasons because they completely started leaking anywhere and everywhere. As of right now, im 99.5% sure that Im going with the Sitka waders next season, Im just not sure if I want the zippered ones or not, thankfully this video answered alot of my questions Ive had. The "Ive had my waders for 50 years" was way too funny. Great video Titus
Thanks Johnny. Another thing about the zipper I failed to mention is you can leave suspenders on, unzip waders and dump heat on those early season hot days
Great Review. I have these waders. Zipper and boots are game changer. 4 years ago I spent $250 on Columbia waders because of holes and general wear and tear plus who likes neoprene... 2 years ago I spent $300 on drake breathable waders. Lasted a season and a half started leaking. So I’d have to drop another $300...That’s $900 ish in 4 years. It will just keep going on and on every year. Yes Price is steep but they are WORTH every penny. They aren’t bulletproof but they can be fixed. One season down and I can’t wait to keep testing them season after season. Sitka has revolutionized waterfowl gear. No other company does what they do
I bought these waders this year and been on 30 hunts already and love them. I didnt see a barb wire stran and heard it hit the waders and about shit myself looked at the waders and nothing at all i was relieved anyother waders would have been a massive gash. Living in Montana i gotta rep sitka plus the layering in later season is amazing with these waders unlike most waders.
Great review, Titus. Waders! Sheesh! Struggled for 4 decades with em! When I started hunting as a kid we had the old rubber ones that were like wearing a tractor tire inter tube 😆 After blowing through 2 pair a year in the last 6 or 7 years I’m sold on your idea. It’s the old cliche...you get what you pay for. I’m currently in Frogg Toggs Grand Refuge Migration Series breathables. Third season, no leaks, no problems, so far so good, but I’ll be saving my nickels for a pair of Sitkas when they blow out.
I got the Frogg Toggs grand refuge with the removable liner. I hunt here in central and south Texas and they were great! Did I mention I ordered stout, very comfortable and versatile. Don't get me wrong, I would buy some Sitkas if I knew and without a doubt would fit like the Frogg Toggs. Just my thoughts, God bless and keep up the great content!!!
My Rogers waders just got their first hole, a tear right on a seam from walking into places. It's small and I can patch it for now, gonna try to get one more season out of them, this was year #2, then these Sitkas are going to be my next wader. I love the elite 2 in 1s from Rogers but the repairability and performance from sitka seems worth every bit of it. I got the bug and have no intention of stopping hunting soon.
@@MidValleyMercenaries Glad i could be of help! They are worth the money. I got mine and everyone made fun of me.Well its going to season 3 this fall and still have yet to have them leak or anything.
Lacrosse does fine by me. But Simms waders are really good there is a reason Sitka uses them and lacrosse. Its a nice blend of the comfort of really nice fly fishing waders and really nice waterfowl boots.
As expensive as they are, I see why it might be wise to try to make the purchase... You make a good point, other than the shotgun, they are the next most important item, except maybe my dog! Great review, thanx man for taking the time!!
Love this video! I gave always just bought two cheap $75 dollar pair of waders and alternate which one I’m patching and which ones I’m hunting with. Have always wanted to invest in some nicer waders whether it’s breathable ones or ones like the sitka ones. Glad to see your money didn’t go to waste either!
Answer to your question is Duck and or goose call then next Decoys then next Blind then Boat then Motor then maybe waders after gun and shells. But yep waders are important.
I think I’m going to invest in these the next waders I buy. My first pair of waders I got as a hand-me-down when I was 15 and I wore them until they leaked when I was 25. I now gotta get new waders probably every other season. My issue with the sizing is I’m only five foot 3, and they don’t make a short and squat size, my shoe size and height I almost need to be at wrestling weight to fit in. I’m interested in seeing when you do have an issue if they are going to honor the last pair you’ll ever buy warranty.
Mid Valley Mercenaries - regular shoes 81/2 -9. Most waders are in full size so I always get an 8 so that they fit tight. Can feel a little crampy, but it’s worth it when your in sticky mud so that your foot doesn’t pull out of the boot. I’ve been fortunate that the neoprene part of the waders have always lasted. It’s the boot itself that always compromised for me.
Are you still going to do updated reviews of the delta wader? I’m in my second year in mine and would like to see your experience for year 2 and 3. And have you sent them in for service?
No will not be doing anymore updates. If you want to hear my experience with their warranty you can listen here: open.spotify.com/episode/6CL3khQkXAfo7VeXZxCi4K?si=5nSQmIE7TEKimpQuzQtqLg
OK, after buying 2 pairs (of other brands) in the past 8 months, and sending both back for warranty replacement...I wish I would have just bought these. My mind is slowly being changed on spending the money.
can you do a review on decoy carts? I've seen some, but was hoping you had some experience in them. love your videos, really like you no holds barred on your reviews of gear. Thanks, God Bless.
I'm 5 10 and about 230 (my biggest). I just sent back my XL-10s and purchased XLS-10s to tryout. Like you, I wear 10s but could use a 9.5 (I guess 9s). I've tried my buddie's L and it fit with a hoodie and 2 thin cold gear layers underneath but I was a bit snug especially when sitting. I'm currently losing weight although, most of us understand how that goes (ups & downs). Should I have just gone to the L-9? Also, in their sizing chart it says the L is the same inseam as the XL, which contradicts what you said as far as it going down with the L size. If I went L and it's truly the same, my thoughts would have been to go with the LS-9. As far as my inseam background, my jeans are 32 inseam but I tried the XL (32-33) today when they came in and the legs seemed a bit long. I am worried about the crotch being too snug with the XLS but need to take some length off the legs. I know this is an older video, but I'd appreciate your thoughts on all points I touched on due to there not being alot of sources on this out there than I'd like, and we seem to have similar builds. Hopefully this will help similar built guys dealing with our "first-world problem" too. Thanks! @MidValleyMercenaries
I’m wearing a 9 Large. I need a 9XL but they don’t make that size. I was fine with layering but I do like my stuff a little more baggie. Issues with having a small foot
My local bass pro doesnt stock these waders but they do stock LaCrosse boots. Is it safe to assume that if I find the right size Lacrosse boots I should fit the waders?

I am trying to figure out what size to get for myself. I know you said you are wearing a 9 Large but you would prefer an XL. What is your chest measurement?
I wear a 9 and I’m at the top end of a M. So I was trying to gauge whether or not to go L. I don’t want them too bulky since I don’t have to do much layering in the Central Valley.
Great review! I could definitely see myself buying these a few years down the road. Just wanna make sure I’m done growing lol... Wouldn’t wanna drop 1k then grow out of em in 1 season.. Looking forward to the shotgun review🤙
Luxury is a refinement of living rather than a necessity. (Webster’s dictionary- I’m not that smart) So we could say ya you don’t need a $1,000 pair of waders but than you buy a $200 pair, but the guy that’s more broke than you says you are luxurious because he can do the same thing with a $100 pair of waders. It’s definitely not luxury it’s better quality. 1 guy buys a new pair every 1-2 years for $200 and spends $1,000 in 5-7 years. Another guy saves for a couple years and buys a $1,000 pair that lasts let’s just say to be conservative for 7 years. What’s the difference? There isn’t any difference. You and I work hard for our money. I spend it on things you wouldn’t and vice versa. Sitka waders are not equal to a shotgun but what I’m saying is I can have the best shotgun in the world but if I don’t have waders where I hunt it’s pointless, I will not be able to hunt. So to me durable waders are the 2nd most important thing next to a shotgun
Waders pretty much became disposable to me, even the better ones (banded, drake, etc.) and they all failed. So far I have been extremely impressed with the Sitka waders, this was their first season but I love them so far. Plus you can’t beat the Optifade! You should do a video explaining how to hunt California for out of staters, I’m from western Nevada and I’ve been thinking of making my way Into Cali for a hunt or two next season. Great channel!
Man I've been wanting to try them, just haven't been able to drop the cash yet. Been burnt over and over again with every brand out there. Trying the new drakes with the 2 year warranty, if they fail I'm going to have to cough up the cash.
Ive got to ask my man.... i know for a fact some outfitters get sitka gear for free. I also know the materials used in sitka clothing are also what they use in special operations clothing fabrics. however, how do you feel about the debate between drake and sitka?
@@MidValleyMercenaries alrighty my man, im gonna trust you because I've watched you for a couple of years now and i love the content and the genuine trait you portray. Ill make the plunge!
i can't believe you mentioned a debate between the two. drake makes the worst pair of waders i have ever worn. i have had mid season and late and try moving in the late if you fall down you need help to get up. who makes a wader that you have velcro straps that you have to attach under the strap. sorry for ranting but other than the pockets they have the rest of the wader stinks. i have 2 used pair for sale if you love them. i just ordered sitka zip in 11 xl short because my legs are about 31 or 30 inseam and i am 5 11 cant wait to get them.
If y’all buy waders at bass pro you can return them for free and get a new pair every year or when they leak🤷🏼♂️ mine usually lasted two years with rough use and I get a brand new pair every year
You need to do a pattern testing video on BOSS Shotshells people say they are amazing they don’t make 3.5 inch shells because they say that l it will blow the bird up they are some great shells tho
I know that you are in and out of the water looking for birds, but have u hunted these at all while standing in water over zipper height for extended periods of time.
Cookie Luv finishing up my 6th season on my current pair of cabelas waders.. paid $150 for them, still running strong. Next pair probably won’t be cabelas with the warranty gone and it seems that their quality has gone down recently too
Great detailed review. You kinda stretched the truth about calling California a "great" state 😉😉. Glad you had such a great season and can tell its over-the beard is gone. Great vid as always, keep up the great work👍👍
Waders are important no doubt! But the reason they rather hear about the franchi even though it’s more expletive is because the gun is a investment. Those waders are worth shit after you buy them. I wouldn’t pay 200 bucks for a used pair of Sitka waders. But I’d pay good money for a used shotgun. The warrant my on the waders is horseshit, 1. All they do is patch it. ( I can do that with any pair of meanders myself) 2. You have to send them back to them for repair. ( what happens if the hole occurs during middle of season)? Bottom line is, it’s not a good purchase.

👍🏼
Waders pretty much became disposable to me, even the better ones (banded, drake, etc.) and they all failed.
So far I have been extremely impressed with the Sitka waders, this was their first season but I love them so far. Plus you can’t beat the Optifade!
You should do a video explaining how to hunt California for out of staters, I’m from western Nevada and I’ve been thinking of making my way Into Cali for a hunt or two next season.
Great channel!
You should do some turkey hunting this year
We def are 👍🏼
Mid Valley Mercenaries do u guys have a late goose season
Thanks for the review & keep the yearly updates coming! Seriously thinking about a pair next season, this helped the decision a ton!
Glad to hear I could help
Man I've been wanting to try them, just haven't been able to drop the cash yet. Been burnt over and over again with every brand out there. Trying the new drakes with the 2 year warranty, if they fail I'm going to have to cough up the cash.
Totally understandable. I’m being the guinea pig right now. Hopefully it pans out
@@MidValleyMercenaries I've heard nothing but great reviews so far from every one I know that's used them, so hopefully you made a good investment
Have you done the 2 year review yet?
Yes
Good video, Titus. Gotta find the correct tree, to get the proper lean, to avoid peeing on your waders. Good luck with that in a marsh though.
Haha yep. Those tullies don’t hold me up very well
@@MidValleyMercenaries if you had a good buddy, he would work as well. Then you'd just have to be worried about peeing on his waders.
I have really sensitive knees too lol !!!!
Can you do another year 2 or 3 review?

Saving my pennies now, hoping to snag the zip waders and Delta jacket for next season
Good review my dude! What part of California are you from?
Thanks. Central
Plus I can imagine with a zipper, your jacket won’t come up like when you pull up other waders...
Exactly
Exactly
Ive got to ask my man.... i know for a fact some outfitters get sitka gear for free. I also know the materials used in sitka clothing are also what they use in special operations clothing fabrics. however, how do you feel about the debate between drake and sitka?
I’ve had both. There is no compare between drake and Sitka. Sitka is another level
@@MidValleyMercenaries alrighty my man, im gonna trust you because I've watched you for a couple of years now and i love the content and the genuine trait you portray. Ill make the plunge!
Appreciate that!
i can't believe you mentioned a debate between the two. drake makes the worst pair of waders i have ever worn. i have had mid season and late and try moving in the late if you fall down you need help to get up. who makes a wader that you have velcro straps that you have to attach under the strap. sorry for ranting but other than the pockets they have the rest of the wader stinks. i have 2 used pair for sale if you love them. i just ordered sitka zip in 11 xl short because my legs are about 31 or 30 inseam and i am 5 11 cant wait to get them.
I want a pair now
Sorry lol
Still holding up?
Yep
@@MidValleyMercenaries just saw the pod cast you all had seam tears ! Although they did fix em.
Yes, for free
Still doing this every year?
No sir. No need.
@@MidValleyMercenaries thinking about pulling the trigger on them for next season
The only reason I want a pair is because of the optifade timber pattern.
Dont you look all spiffy Haha.... well I'll be buying them thank you.. I wanted them for some time
🤙🏼
If y’all buy waders at bass pro you can return them for free and get a new pair every year or when they leak🤷🏼♂️ mine usually lasted two years with rough use and I get a brand new pair every year
Unfortunately they don’t do that anymore
Mid Valley Mercenaries my bass pro still does 🤷🏼♂️
jadyn m wow, good for you man
You need to do a pattern testing video on BOSS Shotshells people say they are amazing they don’t make 3.5 inch shells because they say that l it will blow the bird up they are some great shells tho
I might. I’m so sold on Hevi Shot ammo. I have a few friends that shot them all season last year and they are having a lot of misfires
Sheeeeew bro face got thick. Hitting those blind bag snacks on the regular lmao
🤣 man that face isn’t getting thick it’s been thick for 5 yrs. I always hope the double chin is gonna be gone when I shave but it’s always still there
2022 update video??
I know that you are in and out of the water looking for birds, but have u hunted these at all while standing in water over zipper height for extended periods of time.
I’m always in water for the whole hunt. Wader zipper is consistently underwater. No issues
great review!
Thanks
Thanks
Great video cool information!!
Thanks!
Cabelas used to have the best waders, wished they still had there warranty
Ya their warranty made it good
@@MidValleyMercenaries my friend still has his and it's around 8 years old
Cookie Luv finishing up my 6th season on my current pair of cabelas waders.. paid $150 for them, still running strong. Next pair probably won’t be cabelas with the warranty gone and it seems that their quality has gone down recently too
Great detailed review. You kinda stretched the truth about calling California a "great" state 😉😉. Glad you had such a great season and can tell its over-the beard is gone. Great vid as always, keep up the great work👍👍
cf outdoors I was being very sarcastic about Ca being a great state lol
@@MidValleyMercenaries
I know you were, just had to throw it in there ... lol
Posted two years ago…. Any update?

Your buddy's waders that leaked were "Banded" weren't they?
Trying to remember which buddy?
@@MidValleyMercenaries I had Game Winner waders last longer than Banded. Sitka gear has been very good to me
You lost me at "great state of california" lol. But yes, the waders are great.
I was being Very sarcastic lol
WAIT I GOTTA QUESTION ..... Nope I don't my bad you covered all I got lol so on to the shotgun YES please I said please even my wife is interested
Bottom line is, it’s not a good purchase.
undate us now how they doing so far
Exactly I cannot stand the my 20$ jacket from Walmart has done just fine
