    Hey Titus, with the shell in the pocket thing for your waders, I recommend wearing your delta wading jacket over top of your waders and then using your shell pockets on that.

    I have a pair of the Sitka waders with out the zipper, last season I stepped out of boat right on a willow stick that had been chewed off at water level by beaver, it went right through the neoprene about the boot. I was able to patch it with neoprene patch and hunted the rest of the season with no issues. I called and talked to Sitka customer service and told them what happen and did not mind paying to get them repaired, they told me to send them in and they would email me what cost to repair. I got waders back 20 days from the day I mailed them they replaced the boot on that leg and didn’t charge me anything for repair also sent a free hat back in the box. The customer service at Sitka was top notch.

    Love my DZWs! Sitka does stand behind their product. I hunted around 35 times this year with them. That was my second season and I’m incredibly hard on my gear. Great review and great product!

    Awesome review! I threw my $400 dollar waders in the garbage can after less than 2 seasons because they completely started leaking anywhere and everywhere. As of right now, im 99.5% sure that Im going with the Sitka waders next season, Im just not sure if I want the zippered ones or not, thankfully this video answered alot of my questions Ive had. The "Ive had my waders for 50 years" was way too funny. Great video Titus

    Great Review. I have these waders. Zipper and boots are game changer. 4 years ago I spent $250 on Columbia waders because of holes and general wear and tear plus who likes neoprene... 2 years ago I spent $300 on drake breathable waders. Lasted a season and a half started leaking. So I’d have to drop another $300...That’s $900 ish in 4 years. It will just keep going on and on every year. Yes Price is steep but they are WORTH every penny. They aren’t bulletproof but they can be fixed. One season down and I can’t wait to keep testing them season after season. Sitka has revolutionized waterfowl gear. No other company does what they do

    I bought these waders this year and been on 30 hunts already and love them. I didnt see a barb wire stran and heard it hit the waders and about shit myself looked at the waders and nothing at all i was relieved anyother waders would have been a massive gash. Living in Montana i gotta rep sitka plus the layering in later season is amazing with these waders unlike most waders.

    Great review, Titus. Waders! Sheesh! Struggled for 4 decades with em! When I started hunting as a kid we had the old rubber ones that were like wearing a tractor tire inter tube 😆 After blowing through 2 pair a year in the last 6 or 7 years I’m sold on your idea. It’s the old cliche...you get what you pay for. I’m currently in Frogg Toggs Grand Refuge Migration Series breathables. Third season, no leaks, no problems, so far so good, but I’ll be saving my nickels for a pair of Sitkas when they blow out.

      I got the Frogg Toggs grand refuge with the removable liner. I hunt here in central and south Texas and they were great! Did I mention I ordered stout, very comfortable and versatile. Don't get me wrong, I would buy some Sitkas if I knew and without a doubt would fit like the Frogg Toggs. Just my thoughts, God bless and keep up the great content!!!

    My Rogers waders just got their first hole, a tear right on a seam from walking into places. It's small and I can patch it for now, gonna try to get one more season out of them, this was year #2, then these Sitkas are going to be my next wader. I love the elite 2 in 1s from Rogers but the repairability and performance from sitka seems worth every bit of it. I got the bug and have no intention of stopping hunting soon.

    I think I’m going to invest in these the next waders I buy. My first pair of waders I got as a hand-me-down when I was 15 and I wore them until they leaked when I was 25. I now gotta get new waders probably every other season. My issue with the sizing is I’m only five foot 3, and they don’t make a short and squat size, my shoe size and height I almost need to be at wrestling weight to fit in. I’m interested in seeing when you do have an issue if they are going to honor the last pair you’ll ever buy warranty.

      NorCal Hunter I’m curious too. What size shoe do you wear?

    • @DSonneborn
      @DSonneborn 4 года назад

      Mid Valley Mercenaries - regular shoes 81/2 -9. Most waders are in full size so I always get an 8 so that they fit tight. Can feel a little crampy, but it’s worth it when your in sticky mud so that your foot doesn’t pull out of the boot. I’ve been fortunate that the neoprene part of the waders have always lasted. It’s the boot itself that always compromised for me.

    I'm 5 10 and about 230 (my biggest). I just sent back my XL-10s and purchased XLS-10s to tryout. Like you, I wear 10s but could use a 9.5 (I guess 9s). I've tried my buddie's L and it fit with a hoodie and 2 thin cold gear layers underneath but I was a bit snug especially when sitting. I'm currently losing weight although, most of us understand how that goes (ups & downs). Should I have just gone to the L-9? Also, in their sizing chart it says the L is the same inseam as the XL, which contradicts what you said as far as it going down with the L size. If I went L and it's truly the same, my thoughts would have been to go with the LS-9. As far as my inseam background, my jeans are 32 inseam but I tried the XL (32-33) today when they came in and the legs seemed a bit long. I am worried about the crotch being too snug with the XLS but need to take some length off the legs. I know this is an older video, but I'd appreciate your thoughts on all points I touched on due to there not being alot of sources on this out there than I'd like, and we seem to have similar builds. Hopefully this will help similar built guys dealing with our "first-world problem" too. Thanks! @MidValleyMercenaries

    You can never convince me that paying a grand or more for a shotgun and spending a grand on waders equate in any shape or form sitka is a luxury brand

    • @MidValleyMercenaries
      @MidValleyMercenaries  3 года назад

      Luxury is a refinement of living rather than a necessity. (Webster’s dictionary- I’m not that smart) So we could say ya you don’t need a $1,000 pair of waders but than you buy a $200 pair, but the guy that’s more broke than you says you are luxurious because he can do the same thing with a $100 pair of waders. It’s definitely not luxury it’s better quality. 1 guy buys a new pair every 1-2 years for $200 and spends $1,000 in 5-7 years. Another guy saves for a couple years and buys a $1,000 pair that lasts let’s just say to be conservative for 7 years. What’s the difference? There isn’t any difference. You and I work hard for our money. I spend it on things you wouldn’t and vice versa. Sitka waders are not equal to a shotgun but what I’m saying is I can have the best shotgun in the world but if I don’t have waders where I hunt it’s pointless, I will not be able to hunt. So to me durable waders are the 2nd most important thing next to a shotgun

    Man I've been wanting to try them, just haven't been able to drop the cash yet. Been burnt over and over again with every brand out there. Trying the new drakes with the 2 year warranty, if they fail I'm going to have to cough up the cash.

      i can't believe you mentioned a debate between the two. drake makes the worst pair of waders i have ever worn. i have had mid season and late and try moving in the late if you fall down you need help to get up. who makes a wader that you have velcro straps that you have to attach under the strap. sorry for ranting but other than the pockets they have the rest of the wader stinks. i have 2 used pair for sale if you love them. i just ordered sitka zip in 11 xl short because my legs are about 31 or 30 inseam and i am 5 11 cant wait to get them.

    Waders are important no doubt!
    But the reason they rather hear about the franchi even though it’s more expletive is because the gun is a investment.
    Those waders are worth shit after you buy them. I wouldn’t pay 200 bucks for a used pair of Sitka waders. But I’d pay good money for a used shotgun. The warrant my on the waders is horseshit, 1. All they do is patch it. ( I can do that with any pair of meanders myself) 2. You have to send them back to them for repair. ( what happens if the hole occurs during middle of season)? Bottom line is, it’s not a good purchase.
